< Joeli 3 >
1 “Matukũ-inĩ macio, na ihinda rĩu, rĩrĩa ngaacookeria Juda na Jerusalemu ũgaacĩru wacio-rĩ,
For, in those days and in that time, when I bring back again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 nĩngacookanĩrĩria ndũrĩrĩ ciothe, na ndĩciikũrũkie nginya Gĩtuamba kĩa Jehoshafatu. Kũu nĩkuo ngaamatuĩra ciira ũkoniĩ igai rĩakwa, nĩo andũ akwa a Isiraeli, nĩgũkorwo nĩmahurunjire andũ akwa ndũrĩrĩ-inĩ, na makĩgayana bũrũri wakwa.
I will also gather all the nations and bring them down into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and there I will enter into judgment with them for my people and my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided my land.
3 Nĩmacuukĩire andũ akwa mĩtĩ. Maaheanire tũmwana twao tũrĩ irĩhi kũrĩ maraya; na makĩendia airĩtu ndibei nĩguo mamĩnyue.
They have cast lots for my people. They have traded boys for prostitutes, and sold girls for wine, and drunk it.
What are you to me, Tyre and Sidon and all the districts of Philistia? Were you repaying any deed of mine, or were you doing something for me? Quickly will I return your deed upon your heads.
5 Nĩgũkorwo nĩmuoire betha na thahabu ciakwa, na mũgĩkuua mĩthiithũ ya indo ciakwa iria njega mũno mũgĩcitwara hekarũ-inĩ cianyu.
You who have taken my silver and my gold, and you have brought my goodly jewels into your palaces,
6 Nĩmwendirie andũ a Juda na a Jerusalemu kũrĩ Ayunani nĩguo mũmatware kũndũ kũraya na bũrũri wao.
you have sold the people of Judah and of Jerusalem to the Greeks, so that you might remove them far from their own borders.
7 “Atĩrĩrĩ, nĩngũmarahũra moime kũndũ kũrĩa guothe mwamendirie, na nĩngamũcookereria ũndũ ũcio mwĩkĩte.
I am about to stir them up from the place to which you have sold them, and I will turn your deeds upon your own head.
8 Niĩ nĩngendia ariũ anyu na airĩtu anyu kũrĩ andũ a Juda, nao mamenderie andũ a Sheba, rũrĩrĩ rwa kũraya mũno.” Nĩ Jehova warĩtie ũndũ ũcio.
I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far off, for the Lord has spoken.
9 Hunjanĩriai ũhoro ũyũ ndũrĩrĩ-inĩ: Mwĩhaarĩriei gũthiĩ mbaara-inĩ! Arahũrai njamba cia ita! Andũ othe a ita nĩmakuhĩrĩrie, matharĩkĩre.
Proclaim this among the nations, sanctify war. Arouse the warriors, let all the fighting men muster and go up.
10 Turai mĩraũ yanyu ĩtuĩke hiũ cia njora, o nacio hiũ cianyu cia gũceeha mĩtĩ ituĩke matimũ. Mũndũ ũrĩa ũtarĩ hinya nĩoige atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndĩ na hinya!”
Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into lances; let the weak say, I, indeed, am strong.
11 Ũkai na ihenya, inyuĩ ndũrĩrĩ cia kũndũ guothe, mũngane, mwĩcookanĩrĩrie hamwe. Wee Jehova, tũma njamba ciaku cia ita ciikũrũke kuo.
Bestir yourselves and come, all you nations round about. Quickly gather yourselves together, ask the Lord to bring his warriors.
12 “Ndũrĩrĩ nĩciarahũrwo; nĩcithiĩ Gĩtuamba kĩa Jehoshafatu, nĩgũkorwo kũu nĩkuo ngaikarĩra gĩtĩ, nduĩre ndũrĩrĩ ciothe cia mĩena yothe ciira.
Let the nations rouse themselves and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there will I sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
13 Hiũria-i rũhiũ rwa kũgetha, nĩgũkorwo magetha nĩ makinyu. Ũkai, rangĩrĩriai thabibũ, nĩgũkorwo kĩhihĩro kĩa ndibei nĩkĩiyũru, na mĩtũngi ĩkaiyũra, ĩgaitĩkĩrĩra thĩ: ũguo noguo waganu wao ũnenehete!”
Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; go in, tread, for the wine press is full. The vats overflow, for great is their wickedness.
14 Gũgaakorwo irĩndĩ na irĩndĩ, kũu gĩtuamba gĩa ituĩro! Nĩgũkorwo mũthenya wa Jehova wa gũkinya kũu gĩtuamba gĩa ituĩro ũrĩ hakuhĩ.
Noisy multitudes, noisy multitudes in the valley of decision. For near is the Lord’s day in the valley of decision!
15 Riũa na mweri nĩikaagĩa nduma, nacio njata itigacooka kwara rĩngĩ.
Sun and moon have turned dark, and the stars withdrawn their shining.
16 Jehova nĩakararama arĩ kũu Zayuni na arurume ta ngwa arĩ Jerusalemu; thĩ na igũrũ nĩikainaina. No rĩrĩ, Jehova nĩwe ũgaatuĩka rĩũrĩro rĩa andũ ake, na atuĩke kĩĩhitho kĩrũmu kĩa andũ a Isiraeli.
Whenever the Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem, earth and sky quake; but the Lord is a refuge to his people, and a fortress to the people of Israel.
17 “Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩguo mũkaamenya atĩ niĩ, Jehova Ngai wanyu, ndũũraga Zayuni, kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩakwa kĩrĩa gĩtheru. Narĩo itũũra rĩa Jerusalemu rĩgaakorwo rĩrĩ rĩamũre; gũtirĩ hĩndĩ ĩngĩ andũ a kũngĩ magaacooka kũrĩtharĩkĩra.
And you will know that I am the Lord your God, I who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain, and Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will not pass through her any more.
18 “Mũthenya ũcio-rĩ, irĩma-inĩ nĩgũgatataga ndibei ya mũhihano, na tũrĩma-inĩ nĩgũgathereraga iria, natuo tũrũũĩ tuothe twa Juda nĩtũgathereraga maaĩ. Nakuo nyũmba ya Jehova nĩgũgakunũka gĩthima, na maaĩ makĩo maikũrũkage o kũu Gĩtuamba gĩa Shitimu.
In that day, the mountains will drop sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the channels of Judah will flow with water, a fountain will spring from the house of Judah, and will water the Valley of Shittim.
19 No bũrũri wa Misiri nĩgũkira ũgaakira ihooru, nakuo Edomu gũtuĩke werũ ũtarĩ kĩndũ, nĩ ũndũ wa maũndũ ma ũhinya marĩa meekire andũ a Juda, ma gũitithia thakame ĩtarĩ na ũũru kũu bũrũri wao.
Egypt will become a desolation, and Edom a wilderness, because of the violence done to the people of Judah, because they shed innocent blood in their land,
20 Juda gũgaatũũrwo tene na tene, nakuo Jerusalemu gũtũũrwo njiarwa na njiarwa.
Judah will remain inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21 Wĩhia wao wa ũiti wa thakame, ũcio itarĩ ndaamarekera-rĩ, nĩngamarekera.” Jehova atũũraga Zayuni!
I will avenge their blood which I have not yet avenged. The Lord lives in Zion!
