< Ayubu 8 >

1 Nake Bilidadi ũrĩa Mũshuhi agĩcookia, akĩũria atĩrĩ:
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
2 “Nĩ nginya rĩ ũgũikara ũkĩaragia maũndũ ta macio? Ciugo ciaku no ta inegene rĩa rũhuho rũkĩhurutana.
“How long will you go on saying such things? The words of your mouth are a blustering wind.
3 Mũrungu-rĩ, nĩogomagia ciira wa kĩhooto? Ũcio Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩogomagia ũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ wa ma?
Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?
4 Rĩrĩa ciana ciaku ciamwĩhĩirie-rĩ, nĩacirekereirie iherithio nĩ ũndũ wa mehia ma cio.
When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.
5 No rĩrĩ, wee ũngĩcũthĩrĩria Mũrungu na wĩthaithanĩrĩre harĩ Ũcio Mwene-Hinya-Wothe,
But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy,
6 ũngĩkorwo ũrĩ mũtheru na mũrũngĩrĩru-rĩ, o na rĩu no arahũke nĩ ũndũ waku nĩguo agũcookie handũ harĩa hakwagĩrĩire.
if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.
7 O na gũtuĩka kĩambĩrĩria gĩaku no kĩoneke kĩrĩ kĩnini, thuutha-inĩ nĩũkagaacĩra mũno.
Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish.
8 “Ũria ũhoro harĩ njiarwa cia tene, na ũtuĩrie maũndũ marĩa maithe mao meerutire,
Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers.
9 nĩgũkorwo ithuĩ tũraciarirwo o ro ira na tũtirĩ ũndũ tũũĩ, namo matukũ maitũ ma gũikara gũkũ thĩ no ta kĩĩruru.
For we were born yesterday and know nothing; our days on earth are but a shadow.
10 Acio githĩ to makũrute na makũhe ũhoro? Acio githĩ to maarie ũhoro marĩ na ũmenyo?
Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding?
11 Irura-rĩ, no rĩkũre handũ hatarĩ itomboya? Ithanjĩ-rĩ, no rĩtheereme handũ hatarĩ maaĩ?
Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Do reeds flourish without water?
12 Rĩngĩkũrĩra handũ hatarĩ maaĩ rĩũmaga narua gũkĩra nyeki, o na rĩtakinyĩte rĩa gũtuuo.
While the shoots are still uncut, they dry up quicker than grass.
13 Ũcio nĩguo mũthia wa arĩa othe mariganagĩrwo nĩ Mũrungu; ũguo no ta guo mwĩhoko wa arĩa matooĩ Ngai ũthiraga.
Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so the hope of the godless will perish.
14 Kĩrĩa ehokete no kĩndũ kĩhũthũ; kĩrĩa egiritanagia nakĩo no ta rũrenda rwa mbũmbũĩ.
His confidence is fragile; his security is in a spider’s web.
15 Etiiranagia na rũrenda rwake, naruo rũgatuĩka; akenyiitĩrĩra harĩ ruo, no rũtingĩmũtiirĩrĩra.
He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure.
16 Ahaana ta mũtĩ ũitĩrĩirio maaĩ wega ũrĩ riũa-inĩ, ũtambũrũkĩtie thuuna ciaguo mũgũnda-inĩ;
He is a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden.
17 mĩri yaguo ĩĩthiororokeirie kĩhumbu kĩa mahiga, na ĩcaragia ha kwĩgwatĩrĩra rwaro-inĩ rwa mahiga.
His roots wrap around the rock heap; he looks for a home among the stones.
18 No rĩrĩa wakũũrwo harĩa ũraarĩ-rĩ, handũ hau hagakaana mũtĩ ũcio, hakoiga atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ndirĩ ndakuona.’
If he is uprooted from his place, it will disown him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’
19 Ti-itherũ muoyo waguo ũmaga ũgathira, naho hau tĩĩri-inĩ ũcio hagakũra mĩtĩ ĩngĩ.
Surely this is the joy of his way; yet others will spring from the dust.
20 “Ti-itherũ Mũrungu ndangĩrega mũndũ ũtarĩ ũcuuke, kana ekĩre moko ma arĩa mekaga ũũru hinya.
Behold, God does not reject the blameless, nor will He strengthen the hand of evildoers.
21 Na rĩrĩ, no arĩiyũria kanua gaku mĩtheko, nayo mĩromo yaku yanĩrĩre nĩ gũkena.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with a shout of joy.
22 Thũ ciaku nĩikahumbwo thoni, nacio hema cia arĩa aaganu itigacooka kuonwo.”
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
