< Ayubu 40 >
1 Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Ayubu atĩrĩ:
And the Lord God answered Job, and said,
2 “Mũndũ ũrĩa ũrũaga na Mwene-Hinya-Wothe-rĩ, no amũrute mahĩtia? Ũcio ũkararagia Ngai-rĩ, nĩakĩmũcookerie!”
Will [any one] pervert judgment with the Mighty One? and he that reproves God, let him return it for answer.
3 Nake Ayubu agĩcookeria Jehova, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ:
And Job answered and said to the Lord,
4 “Niĩ ndiagĩrĩire o na hanini; ndaakĩhota atĩa gũgũcookeria? Nĩndehumbĩra kanua na guoko.
Why do I yet plead? being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these [arguments]? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
5 Nĩndaririe rĩmwe, no ndirĩ na macookio; o na ngĩaria rĩa keerĩ, no ndirĩ na ũndũ ũngĩ nguuga.”
I have spoken once; but I will not do so a second time.
6 Ningĩ Jehova akĩarĩria Ayubu arĩ kĩhuhũkanio-inĩ, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ:
And the Lord yet again answered and spoke to Job out of the cloud, [saying],
7 “Wĩhotore ta mũndũ mũrũme; nĩngũkũũria ciũria, nawe ũkĩnjookerie.
Nay, gird up now your loins like a man; and I will ask you, and do you answer me.
8 “Gũtua ciira gwakwa na kĩhooto-rĩ, githĩ no ũkũmenererie? Githĩ no ũndue mwĩhia nĩgeetha wee ũtuĩke ndwĩhĩtie?
Do not set aside my judgment: and do you think that I have dealt with you in any other way, than that you might appear to be righteous?
9 Wee-rĩ, ũrĩ na guoko ta kwa Mũrungu? Wee wahota kũruruma na mũgambo ta wake?
Hast you an arm like the Lord's? or do you thunder with a voice like his?
10 Ta kĩĩgemie na riiri na ũkengi, na wĩhumbe gĩtĩĩo na ũnene.
Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe yourself with glory and honor.
11 Rekereria marakara mahiũ ma mangʼũrĩ maku, wone mũndũ o wothe mwĩtĩĩi ũmũharũrũkie,
And send forth messengers with wrath; and lay low every haughty one.
12 rora mũndũ o wothe mwĩtĩĩi na ũmũnyiihie, ũmemende andũ arĩa aaganu o harĩa marũngiĩ.
Bring down also the proud man; and consume at once the ungodly.
13 Mathike othe hamwe tĩĩri-inĩ; ũmoohe mothiũ na nduma kũu mbĩrĩra-inĩ.
And hide them together in the earth; and fill their faces with shame.
14 Hĩndĩ ĩyo niĩ mwene nĩngetĩkania nawe atĩ guoko gwaku mwene kwa ũrĩo no gũkũhonokie.
[Then] will I confess that your right hand can save [you].
15 “Ta rora nyamũ ĩrĩa ĩtagwo Behemothu, ĩyo ndoombire hamwe nawe, na ĩrĩĩaga nyeki ta ndegwa.
But now look at the wild beasts with you; they eat grass like oxen.
16 Nĩ hinya ũigana atĩa ĩrĩ naguo njohero, na nĩ ũhoti mũnene atĩa ũrĩ mĩkiha-inĩ yayo ya nda!
Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 Ĩinagia mũtingʼoe wayo ta mũtarakwa; nga cia ciero ciayo ciohanĩtio hamwe ta mĩhĩndo.
He sets up his tail like a cypress; and his nerves are wrapped together.
18 Mahĩndĩ mayo mahaana ta mĩberethi ya gĩcango, nacio ciĩga ciayo cihaana ta irungʼo cia kĩgera.
His sides are sides of brass; and his backbone is [as] cast iron.
19 Nĩyo nyamũ ya mbere harĩ ciũmbe cia Mũrungu, no rĩrĩ, Mũũmbi wayo nowe ũngĩmĩkuhĩrĩria na rũhiũ rwake rwa njora.
This is the chief of the creation of the Lord; made to be played with by his angels.
20 Irĩma ĩmĩheaga maciaro maacio, na nyamũ ciothe cia gĩthaka itũũhagĩra gũkuhĩ na kũu.
And when he has gone up to a steep mountain, he causes joy to the quadrupeds in the deep.
21 Ĩkomaga rungu rwa mahũa ma maaĩ-inĩ, ĩĩhithĩte thĩinĩ wa ithanjĩ kũrĩa kũrĩ mũtondo.
He lies under trees of every kind, by the papyrus, and reed, and bulrush.
22 Mahũa macio ma maaĩ-inĩ makamĩhitha; nakĩo kĩĩruru kĩa mĩtĩ ya irura hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia karũũĩ gĩkamĩthiũrũrũkĩria.
And the great trees make a shadow over him with their branches, and [so do] the bushes of the field.
23 Rĩrĩa rũũĩ ruoka na nditi, ndĩmakaga; nĩngitĩre, o na Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani rũngĩmĩiyũrĩrĩra nginya kanua.
If there should be a flood, he will not perceive it; he trust that Jordan will rush up into his mouth.
24 Kũrĩ mũndũ ũngĩhota kũmĩnyiita rĩrĩa ĩĩhũũgĩte, kana amĩtege, amĩtũrĩkie iniũrũ na amĩĩkĩre kĩana kĩa rũrigi?
[Yet one] shall take him in his sight; [one] shall catch [him] with a cord, and pierce his nose.
