< Ayubu 34 >
1 Ningĩ Elihu akiuga atĩrĩ:
And Elihu made answer and said,
2 “Iguai ciugo ciakwa, inyuĩ andũ aya oogĩ; thikĩrĩriai, inyuĩ amenyi a maũndũ.
Give ear, you wise, to my words; and you who have knowledge, give attention to me;
3 Nĩgũkorwo gũtũ gũthuuranagia ciugo o ta ũrĩa rũrĩmĩ rũcamaga irio.
For words are tested by the ear, as food is tasted by the mouth.
4 Nĩtwĩkũũranĩrei ithuĩ ene ũndũ ũrĩa wagĩrĩire; nĩtwĩrute tũrĩ hamwe ũndũ ũrĩa mwega.
Let us make the decision for ourselves as to what is right; let us have the knowledge among ourselves of what is good.
5 “Ayubu aroiga atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ndihĩtĩtie, no Mũrungu nĩanjagithĩtie kĩhooto gĩakwa.
For Job has said, I am upright, and it is God who has taken away my right;
6 O na gũtuĩka ndĩraria ũrĩa kũrĩ, ndĩratuuo mũheenania; o na gũtuĩka ndirĩ na mahĩtia, mũguĩ wake ũngurarĩtie kĩronda gĩtangĩhona.’
Though I am right, still I am in pain; my wound may not be made well, though I have done no wrong.
7 Nĩ mũndũ ũrĩkũ ũhaana ta Ayubu, mũndũ ũnyuuaga kĩnyũrũri taarĩ maaĩ aranyua?
What man is like Job, a man who freely makes sport of God,
8 Atwaranaga na andũ arĩa mekaga ũũru; agĩĩaga thiritũ na andũ arĩa aaganu.
And goes in the company of evil-doers, walking in the way of sinners?
9 Nĩgũkorwo oigaga atĩrĩ, ‘Gũtirĩ uumithio mũndũ onaga rĩrĩa arageria gũkenia Ngai.’
For he has said, It is no profit to a man to take delight in God.
10 “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio gĩĩthikĩrĩriei, inyuĩ andũ aya mũrĩ na ũtaũku. Ũhoro wa kwĩhia ũroaga kuoneka harĩ Mũrungu, Mwene-Hinya-Wothe aroaga gwĩka ũũru.
Now then, you wise, take note; you men of knowledge, give ear to me. Let it be far from God to do evil, and from the Ruler of all to do wrong.
11 Arĩhaga mũndũ kũringana na ũrĩa ekĩte; akamũrehere o kĩrĩa kĩringaine na mĩthiĩre yake.
For he gives to every man the reward of his work, and sees that he gets the fruit of his ways.
12 Gũtingĩhoteka atĩ Mũrungu no eeke mahĩtia, atĩ ũrĩa Mwene-Hinya-Wothe no ogomie kĩhooto.
Truly, God does not do evil, and the Ruler of all is not a false judge.
13 Nũũ wamũtuire mũrori wa thĩ? Nũũ wamũtuire mũrũgamĩrĩri wa thĩ yothe?
Who put the earth into his care, or made him responsible for the world?
14 Korwo aagĩa na muoroto wa kweheria roho wake na mĩhũmũ-rĩ,
If he made his spirit come back to him, taking his breath into himself again,
15 andũ othe mangĩthiranĩra hamwe, nake mũndũ acooke rũkũngũ-inĩ.
All flesh would come to an end together, and man would go back to the dust.
16 “Akorwo ũrĩ mũndũ ũrĩ na ũtaũku-rĩ, igua ũhoro ũyũ; thikĩrĩria ũrĩa nguuga.
If you are wise, take note of this; give ear to the voice of my words.
17 Mũndũ ũthũire kĩhooto-rĩ, no ahote gwathana? Ũrĩa ũrĩ kĩhooto, o Ũcio kĩhoti-rĩ, no ũmũtue mwĩhia?
How may a hater of right be a ruler? and will you say that the upright Ruler of all is evil?
18 Githĩ ti we wĩraga athamaki atĩrĩ, ‘Inyuĩ mũtirĩ kĩene,’ na akeera arĩa marĩ igweta atĩrĩ, ‘Inyuĩ mũrĩ aaganu,’
He who says to a king, You are an evil-doer; and to rulers, You are sinners;
19 o ũcio ũtatĩagĩra anene maũthĩ, na ndendaga arĩa atongu gũkĩra arĩa athĩĩni, nĩgũkorwo othe nĩ wĩra wa moko make?
Who has no respect for rulers, and who gives no more attention to those who have wealth than to the poor, for they are all the work of his hands.
20 Makuuaga o rĩmwe, o ũtukũ gatagatĩ; andũ mainainaga magakua; arĩa marĩ hinya meeheragio matahutĩtio nĩ guoko kwa mũndũ.
Suddenly they come to an end, even in the middle of the night: the blow comes on the men of wealth, and they are gone, and the strong are taken away without the hand of man.
21 “Maitho make maikaraga macũthĩrĩirie mĩthiĩre ya andũ; nĩonaga mĩthiĩre yao yothe.
For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps.
22 Gũtirĩ handũ harĩ nduma, kana handũ harĩ kĩĩruru kĩnene, hangĩĩhithwo nĩ arĩa meekaga ũũru.
There is no dark place, and no thick cloud, in which the workers of evil may take cover.
23 Mũrungu ndabatairio nĩgũthuthuuria ndeto cia andũ makĩria, atĩ nĩguo moke mbere yake maciirithio.
For he does not give man a fixed time to come before him to be judged.
24 Ahehenjaga arĩa marĩ ũhoti atekũũria mũndũ na akarũgamia andũ angĩ ithenya rĩao.
He sends the strong to destruction without searching out their cause, and puts others in their place.
25 Tondũ we nĩamenyaga maũndũ marĩa meekaga, amangʼaũranagia ũtukũ magathuthĩka.
For he has knowledge of their works, overturning them in the night, so that they are crushed.
26 Amaherithagĩria waganu wao makĩonagwo nĩ mũndũ o wothe,
The evil-doers are broken by his wrath, he puts his hand on them with force before the eyes of all onlookers.
27 tondũ nĩmagarũrũkire magĩtiga kũmũrũmĩrĩra, na matirũmbũyagia njĩra yake o na ĩrĩkũ.
Because they did not go after him, and took no note of his ways,
28 Nĩmatũmire kĩrĩro kĩa arĩa athĩĩni gĩkinye hau mbere yake, nĩ ũndũ ũcio akĩigua kĩrĩro kĩa arĩa abatari.
So that the cry of the poor might come up to him, and the prayer of those in need come to his ears.
29 No rĩrĩ, angĩikara akirĩte-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩmũtua muhĩtia? Angĩhitha ũthiũ wake-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩmuona? Nowe arĩ igũrũ rĩa mũndũ na igũrũ rĩa rũrĩrĩ o ũndũ ũmwe,
30 nĩguo agirie mũndũ ũtarĩ na ũngai gwathana, amũgirie kũigĩra kĩrĩndĩ mĩtego.
31 “Korwo mũndũ no ere Mũrungu atĩrĩ, ‘Nĩnjĩhĩtie no ndikehia rĩngĩ.
32 Nduta menye ũrĩa itarahota kuona; ingĩkorwo nĩnjĩkĩte ũũru-rĩ, ndigacooka gwĩka ũguo rĩngĩ.’
33 Ngai-rĩ, no agĩkũrĩhe kũringana na ũrĩa wee ũkwenda rĩrĩa ũregete kwĩrira? No nginya we ũtue itua, no ti niĩ; nĩ ũndũ ũcio kĩnjĩĩre ũrĩa ũũĩ.
34 “Andũ arĩa marĩ na ũtaũku maroiga atĩrĩ, nao andũ acio oogĩ maiguĩte ngĩaria manjĩĩrĩte atĩrĩ,
Men of knowledge, and all wise men, hearing me, will say,
35 ‘Ayubu aaragia atarĩ na ũmenyo; ciugo ciake nĩciagĩte ũũgĩ.’
Job's words do not come from knowledge; they are not the fruit of wisdom.
36 Hĩ, naarĩ korwo Ayubu aagerio nginya mũthia, nĩ ũndũ macookio make nĩ ta ma mũndũ mwaganu!
May Job be tested to the end, because his answers have been like those of evil men.
37 Nĩongereire ũremi harĩ mehia make; atũhũũragĩra hĩ cia kĩnyũrũri, na akaingĩhia ciugo ciake cia gũũkĩrĩra Mũrungu.”
For in addition to his sin, he is uncontrolled in heart; before our eyes he makes sport of God, increasing his words against him.
