1 Nake Bilidadi ũrĩa Mũshuhi agĩcookia atĩrĩ:
Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,
2 “Wathani na gwĩtigĩrwo nĩ cia Ngai; nĩwe ũhaandaga watho kũu igũrũ o igũrũ mũno.
“Dominion and awe belong to God. He brings peace to his heavens.
3 Mbũtũ ciake no itarĩke? Nũũ ũtaaragĩrwo nĩ ũtheri wake?
Who can count his armies? Is there anywhere his light doesn't shine?
4 Mũndũ aakĩhota atĩa gũkorwo arĩ mũthingu mbere ya Mũrungu? Mũndũ ũciarĩtwo nĩ mũndũ-wa-nja-rĩ, akĩhota atĩa gũtuĩka mũtheru?
How can a human being be right before God? Can anyone born of woman be pure?
5 Angĩkorwo o na mweri ti mũcangararu, na njata ti theru maitho-inĩ make-rĩ,
If in God's eyes even the moon does not shine brightly, and the stars are not pure,
6 mũndũ na no ta kĩgunyũ, o we mũrũ wa mũndũ-rĩ, ndakĩrĩ mũnyiihĩre mũno makĩrĩa!”
how much less a human being—who by comparison is like a maggot or a worm!”
