< Ayubu 12 >

1 Ningĩ Ayubu agĩcookia atĩrĩ:
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Hatirĩ nganja inyuĩ nĩ inyuĩ andũ, naguo ũũgĩ ũgaathiranĩra na inyuĩ rĩrĩa mũgaakua!
“No doubt you are the people; wisdom will die with you.
3 No rĩrĩ, ndĩ na ũmenyo o ta inyuĩ; mũtirĩ oogĩ kũngĩra. Nũũ ũtooĩ maũndũ macio mothe?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Indeed, who does not know such things as these?
I am something for my neighbor to laugh at— I, one who called on God and who was answered by him! I, a just and blameless man—I am now something to laugh at.
5 Andũ arĩa maikaraga megangarĩte manyũrũragia mũtino, makona ta ũndũ ũcio ũkoraga o andũ arĩa magũrũ mao matenderũkaga.
In the thought of someone who is at ease, there is contempt for misfortune; he thinks in a way that brings more misfortune to those whose foot is slipping.
6 Hema cia atunyani nĩcio ciikaraga igaacĩire, na andũ arĩa marakaragia Mũrungu nĩo maikaraga na thayũ, o acio makuuaga ngai yao na moko.
The tents of robbers prosper, and those who provoke God feel secure; their own hands are their gods.
7 “No ta kĩũrie nyamũ, na nĩigũkũruta ũhoro, kana ũrie nyoni cia rĩera-inĩ, na nĩigũkwĩra;
But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; ask the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you.
8 kana warĩrie thĩ, na nĩĩgũkũruta ũhoro, kana ũkĩarĩrie thamaki cia iria-inĩ, nacio nĩigũkũhe ũhoro.
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9 Nĩ irĩkũ cia icio ciothe itooĩ atĩ nĩ guoko kwa Jehova gwĩkĩte ũndũ ũyũ?
Which animal among all these does not know that the hand of Yahweh has done this?
10 Mĩoyo ya ciũmbe ciothe ĩrĩ guoko-inĩ gwake, o na mĩhũmũ ya andũ othe.
In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
11 Githĩ gũtũ gũtithuuranagia ciugo o ta ũrĩa rũrĩmĩ rũcamaga irio?
Does not the ear test words just as the palate tastes its food?
12 Githĩ ũũgĩ ndũkoragwo na andũ arĩa akũrũ? Githĩ gũtũũra mũno gũtirehaga ũmenyo?
With aged men is wisdom; in length of days is understanding.
13 “Ũũgĩ na hinya nĩ cia Ngai; mataaro na ũmenyo nĩ ciake.
With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.
14 Kĩrĩa amomoraga gĩtingĩakwo rĩngĩ; mũndũ ũrĩa aahingĩra njeera gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩmuohora.
See, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again; if he imprisons someone, there can be no release.
15 Ahingagĩrĩria maaĩ, gũkaaga mbura; ningĩ aamarekereria makaananga bũrũri.
See, if he withholds the waters, they dry up; and if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land.
16 Hinya na ũtooria nĩ ciake; mũheenio na mũheenania eerĩ no ake.
With him are strength and wisdom; people who are deceived and the deceiver are both in his power.
17 Aheani kĩrĩra amatongoragia matarĩ nguo, na agatua aciirithania irimũ.
He leads counselors away barefoot in sorrow; he turns judges into fools.
18 Nĩohoraga mĩnyororo ĩrĩa athamaki moohaga andũ nayo, akamooha mũcibi njohero.
He takes off the chain of authority from kings; he wraps a cloth about their waists.
19 Athĩnjĩri-Ngai amatongoragia marutĩtwo nguo, na akangʼaũrania andũ arĩa mehaandire tene.
He leads priests away barefoot in sorrow and overthrows mighty people.
20 Nĩakiragia mĩromo ya aheani kĩrĩra arĩa meehoketwo, nao athuuri akamatunya ũhoro wa gũkũũrana maũndũ.
He removes the speech of those who had been trusted and takes away the understanding of the elders.
21 We nĩagagĩra arĩa atĩĩku bata, nao arĩa marĩ na hinya nĩamatunyaga indo ciao cia mbaara.
He pours contempt upon princes and unfastens the belt of strong people.
22 Nĩaguũragia maũndũ marĩa mariku ma nduma, na nduma nene ya gĩkuũ akamiumĩria ũtheri-inĩ.
He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light.
23 Anenehagia ndũrĩrĩ, agacooka agaciananga; aingĩhagia ndũrĩrĩ, agacooka agacihurunja.
He makes nations strong, and he also destroys them; He enlarges nations, and he also leads them along as prisoners.
24 Nĩagaagagia meciiria ma atongoria a gũkũ thĩ; akamaingata, morũũrage werũ-inĩ mũtheri ũtarĩ njĩra.
He takes away understanding from the leaders of the people of the earth; he causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no path.
25 Mahambaataga nduma-inĩ kũrĩa gũtarĩ ũtheri; ningĩ atũmaga matũgũũge ta mũndũ mũrĩĩu.
They grope in the dark without light; he makes them stagger like a drunk man.
