< Isaia 48 >

Hear these [words], ye house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of Juda, who swear by the name of the Lord God of Israel, making mention [of it, but] not with truth, nor with righteousness;
2 nĩgũkorwo inyuĩ mwĩĩtaga atũũri a itũũra rĩrĩa inene itheru, na mũkehoka Ngai wa Isiraeli, o ũcio rĩĩtwa rĩake arĩ Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe:
maintaining also the name of the holy city, and staying themselves on the God of Israel: the Lord of hosts is his name. The former things I have already declared;
3 O tene nĩndarathire ũhoro wa maũndũ marĩa magooka, ngĩmaaria na kanua gakwa na ngĩtũma mamenyeke; na o ro rĩmwe ngĩmahingia, namo magĩĩkĩka.
and they that have proceeded out of my mouth, and it became well known; I wrought suddenly, and [the events] came to pass.
4 Nĩgũkorwo nĩndamenyaga atĩ wee ũrĩ mũremi mũno, nayo ngingo yaku ĩkahaana ta rũga rũmũ rwa kĩgera, naguo thiithi waku ũgatuĩka ta gĩcango.
I know that thou art stubborn, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy forehead brazen.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndakwĩrire maũndũ maya o tene; ngĩkwĩra ũhoro wamo mataanekĩka, nĩgeetha ndũkanoige atĩrĩ, ‘Mĩhianano yakwa ya kũhooywo nĩyo ĩĩkĩte maũndũ macio; mũhianano wakwa wa gwacũhio, na ngai yakwa ya kĩgera nĩcio ciathanire ũhoro wamo.’
And I told thee of old what [should be] before it came upon thee; I made it known to thee, lest thou shouldest say, [My] idols have done [it] for me; and shouldest say, [My] graven and molten images have commanded me.
6 Kũigua nĩmũiguĩte maũndũ macio; ta kĩmarorei mothe. Githĩ mũtikamoimbũra atĩ nĩguo matariĩ? “Kuuma rĩu ndĩĩkwĩraga ũhoro wa maũndũ merũ, ngakwĩra ũhoro wa maũndũ mahithe, o marĩa wee ũtooĩ.
Ye have heard all this, but ye have not known: yet I have made known to thee the new things from henceforth, which are coming to pass, and thou saidst not,
Now they come to pass, and not formerly: and thou heardest not of them in former days: say not thou, Yea, I know them.
8 Wee ndũrĩ waigua kana ũkamenya; kuuma o tene matũ maku matirĩ mahingũka. Nĩnjũũĩ wega ũrĩa ũrĩ mũndũ mũgarũ, o na atĩ kuuma waciarwo wetirwo mũremi.
Thou hast neither known, nor understood, neither from the beginning have I opened thine ears: for I knew that thou wouldest surely deal treacherously, and wouldest be called a transgressor even from the womb.
9 Nĩngwamba kũrũgamia mangʼũrĩ makwa nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩakwa; na tondũ wa ũgooci wakwa ndigĩrĩirie mangʼũrĩ macio matigagũkore, nĩguo ndigakũniine biũ.
For mine own sake will I shew thee my wrath, and will bring before thee my glorious acts, that I may not utterly destroy thee.
10 Atĩrĩrĩ, nĩngũtheretie o na gũtuĩka ti ta ũrĩa betha ĩtheragio; wee-rĩ, ngũgeretie thĩinĩ wa icua rĩa mĩnyamaro.
Behold, I have sold thee, [but] not for silver; but I have rescued thee from the furnace of affliction.
11 Nĩ ũndũ wakwa niĩ mwene, ĩĩ ti-itherũ, nĩ ũndũ wakwa niĩ mwene-rĩ, nĩngeeka ũndũ ũcio. Niĩ mwene-rĩ, ndaahota atĩa gwĩtĩkĩria rĩĩtwa rĩakwa rĩthaahio? Riiri wakwa ndikaũhe mũndũ ũngĩ.
For mine own sake I will do [this] for thee, because my name is profaned; and I will not give my glory to another.
12 “Atĩrĩrĩ, wee Jakubu, ta thikĩrĩria, o na wee Isiraeli ũrĩa niĩ njĩtĩĩte: Niĩ nĩ niĩ Ngai; nĩ niĩ wa mbere, o na ningĩ nĩ niĩ wa kũrigĩrĩria.
Hear me, O Jacob, and Israel whom I call; I am the first, and I endure for ever.
13 Guoko gwakwa kĩũmbe nĩkuo kwahaandire mĩthingi ya thĩ, na guoko gwakwa kwa ũrĩo gũgĩtambũrũkia matu; rĩrĩa ndaameta, mothe marũgamaga o hamwe.
My hand also has founded the earth, and my right hand has fixed the sky: I will call them, and they shall stand together.
14 “Cookanĩrĩrai hamwe inyuothe na mũthikĩrĩrie: Nĩ mĩhianano ĩrĩkũ ya kũhooywo ĩrĩ yoimbũranĩra maũndũ macio? Mũndũ ũrĩa Jehova ethuurĩire manyiitanĩre nake nĩwe ũkaahingia muoroto wake wa gũũkĩrĩra bũrũri wa Babuloni; guoko gwake nĩkuo gũgookĩrĩra andũ a Babuloni.
And all shall be gathered, and shall hear: who has told them these things? Out of love to thee I have fulfilled thy desire on Babylon, to abolish the seed of the Chaldeans.
15 Niĩ, o niĩ-rĩ, nĩnjarĩtie; ĩĩ nĩguo, nĩ niĩ ndĩmwĩtĩte, na nĩngamũrehe, na nĩakagaacĩra wĩra-inĩ wake.
I have spoken, I have called, I have brought him, and made his way prosperous.
16 “Nguhĩrĩriai mũthikĩrĩrie ũhoro ũyũ: “Kuuma o kĩambĩrĩria ndirĩ ndaaria ũhoro na hitho; maũndũ macio makĩoneka, niĩ ngoragwo ho.” Na rĩu Mwathani Jehova nĩwe ũndũmĩte, we mwene o na Roho wake.
Draw nigh to me, and hear ye these words; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: when it took place, there was I, and now the Lord, [even] the Lord, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
17 Jehova, o we Mũkũũri waku, o we Mũtheru wa Isiraeli, ekuuga atĩrĩ: “Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova Ngai waku, ũrĩa ũkũrutaga maũndũ marĩa makwagĩrĩire, na nowe ũkuonagĩrĩria njĩra ĩrĩa wagĩrĩirwo nĩkũgera.
Thus saith the Lord that delivered thee, the Holy One of Israel; I am thy God, I have shewn thee how thou shouldest find the way wherein thou shouldest walk.
18 Naarĩ korwo nĩmwaiguĩte maathani makwa, thayũ wanyu ũngĩahaanire ta rũũĩ rũgũtherera, naguo ũthingu wanyu ũhaane ta makũmbĩ ma iria-inĩ.
And if thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, [then] would thy peace have been like a river, and thy righteousness as a wave of the sea.
19 Njiaro cianyu ingĩaingĩhire o ta mũthanga, nacio ciana cianyu cingĩhe ta hĩndĩ cia mũthanga iria itangĩtarĩka; rĩĩtwa rĩao rĩtingĩkaaniinwo, kana rĩanangwo, rĩeherio mbere yakwa.”
Thy seed also would have been as the sand, and the offspring of thy belly as the dust of the ground: neither now shalt thou by any means be utterly destroyed, neither shall thy name perish before me.
20 Umai bũrũri wa Babuloni, mwĩtharei, muume kũrĩ andũ a Babuloni! Anĩrĩrai ũhoro ũyũ na kayũ kanene mũkenete, na mũhunjie ndũmĩrĩri ĩno. Mĩtũmei nginya ituri-inĩ cia thĩ; ugai atĩrĩ, “Jehova nĩakũũrĩte ndungata yake Jakubu.”
Go forth of Babylon, thou that fleest from the Chaldeans: utter aloud a voice of joy, and let this be made known, proclaim it to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord hath delivered his servant Jacob.
21 Matianyootire hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aamatoongoreirie werũ-inĩ; nĩamarutĩire maaĩ kuuma rwaro-inĩ rwa ihiga; o na ningĩ agĩatũra rwaro rwa ihiga, namo maaĩ makiuma ho.
And if they shall thirst, he shall lead them through the desert; he shall bring forth water to them out of the rock: the rock shall be cloven, and the water shall flow forth, and my people shall drink.
22 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ, “Andũ arĩa aaganu matikagĩa na thayũ o na rĩ.”
There is no joy, saith the Lord, to the ungodly.
