< Isaia 39 >
1 Na rĩrĩ, ihinda rĩu Merodaki-Baladani mũrũ wa Baladani mũthamaki wa Babuloni nĩatũmĩire Hezekia marũa na kĩheo, tondũ nĩaiguĩte ũhoro wa ndwari yake na kũhona gwake.
At that time, Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
2 Hezekia akĩamũkĩra andũ arĩa maatũmĩtwo na gĩkeno, na akĩmoonia indo ciothe iria aigĩte makũmbĩ make; akĩmoonia betha, na thahabu na mahuti marĩa manungi wega na maguta marĩa mega mũno, na indo ciake ciothe cia mbaara na indo ciothe iria ciarĩ igĩĩna-inĩ ciake. Gũtirĩ kĩndũ o na kĩmwe thĩinĩ wa nyũmba ya ũthamaki kana kĩarĩ ũthamaki-inĩ wake wothe Hezekia ataamoonirie.
Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
3 Hĩndĩ ĩyo mũnabii Isaia agĩthiĩ kũrĩ Mũthamaki Hezekia, akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Andũ acio moiga atĩa, na mekuumĩte kũ?” Nake Hezekia agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Moimĩte bũrũri wa kũraya; megũkĩte kuuma bũrũri wa Babuloni.”
Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
4 Nake mũnabii akĩũria atĩrĩ, “Nĩ kĩĩ moonire nyũmba-inĩ yaku ya ũthamaki.” Nake Hezekia agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Moonire indo ciothe cia nyũmba yakwa ya ũthamaki. Gũtirĩ kĩndũ o na kĩmwe kĩrĩ igĩĩna-inĩ ciakwa itanamoonia.”
Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
5 Nake Isaia akĩĩra Hezekia atĩrĩ, “Ta igua kiugo kĩa Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe:
Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD of Armies:
6 Ti-itherũ ihinda nĩrĩgakinya, rĩrĩa indo ciothe iria irĩ thĩinĩ wa nyũmba yaku ya ũthamaki, na iria ciothe maithe maku matũire maigĩte nginya ũmũthĩ, igaakuuo itwarwo Babuloni. Gũtirĩ o na kĩmwe gĩgaatigara. Ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says the LORD.
7 Na andũ amwe a rũciaro rwaku, o arĩa moimĩte mũthiimo waku, o arĩa wee ũgaaciara, nĩmagathaamio, na nĩmakaahakũrwo nĩguo matungatage nyũmba-inĩ ya mũthamaki wa Babuloni.”
‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
8 Nake Hezekia agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Kiugo kĩa Jehova kĩrĩa waria nĩ kĩega,” tondũ eeciiririe atĩrĩ, “Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ngũtũũra muoyo nĩgũgũkorwo kũrĩ na thayũ na ũgitĩri.”
Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The LORD’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
