< Isaia 31 >
Woe to those who go down to Egypt [Abode of slavery] for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails], and they don’t seek Adonai!
2 No rĩrĩ, o nake Jehova nĩ mũũgĩ na no amarehithĩrie mwanangĩko, nĩgũkorwo ndericũkagwo ũrĩa oigĩte. We nĩakarahũka okĩrĩre nyũmba ya andũ arĩa aaganu, na okĩrĩre arĩa mateithagĩrĩria andũ arĩa mekaga maũndũ mooru.
Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.
3 No rĩrĩ, andũ a Misiri no andũ tu, na ti Mũrungu; nacio mbarathi ciao no nyama na itirĩ roho thĩinĩ wacio. Rĩrĩa Jehova aatambũrũkia guoko gwake, ũcio ũteithanagia nĩahĩngagwo, na ũcio ũteithagio nĩagũũaga; nao eerĩ makaaniinwo hamwe.
Now the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Adonai stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.
4 Jehova anjĩĩrĩte atĩrĩ: “O ta ũrĩa mũrũũthi ũraramaga, mũrũũthi njamba ũkĩrĩa nyamũ ĩrĩa ũnyiitĩte, na ndũmakagio nĩ mĩgambo ya arĩithi o na mokĩte marĩ gĩkundi kĩnene metĩtwo hamwe nĩguo maũũkĩrĩre, kana wĩtigĩre nĩ ũndũ wa inegene rĩao-rĩ, ũguo noguo Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe agaikũrũka, arũe arĩ kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩa Zayuni, o na ciambatĩro ciakĩo.
For Adonai says to me, “As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for their noise, so Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] will come down to fight on Mount Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] and on its heights.
5 O ta ũrĩa nyoni ĩreeraga rĩera-inĩ, ũguo noguo Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe akaagitĩra itũũra rĩa Jerusalemu; akaarĩgitĩra na arĩkũũre, ‘akaahĩtũkĩra igũrũ rĩa rĩo’ nĩguo arĩhonokie.”
As birds hovering, so Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] will protect Jerusalem [City of peace]. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.”
6 Inyuĩ andũ a Isiraeli-rĩ, cookererai ũcio mũtũire mũremeire mũno.
Make teshuvah ·complete return· to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel [God prevails].
7 Nĩgũkorwo mũthenya ũcio o mũndũ wanyu nĩagatee mĩhianano ya betha na ya thahabu ĩrĩa mwĩthondekeire na moko manyu ĩgatũma mwĩhie.
For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold— sin which your own hands have made for you.
8 “Andũ a Ashuri makooragwo na rũhiũ rwa njora no ti rwa mũndũ; rũhiũ rwa njora nĩruo rũkaamaniina biũ, no ti rwa andũ. Nĩmakoorĩra rũhiũ rũu rwa njora, na aanake ao makaanyiitwo, marutithio wĩra na hinya.
“The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of mankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.
9 Nacio ciĩhitho ciao cia hinya nĩikaagũa nĩ ũndũ wa guoya; nao anene ao a ita moona bendera ya ita nĩmakamaka mũno,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga, ũrĩa wakĩtie mwaki wake Zayuni, o na icua rĩake rĩa mwaki rĩrĩ kũu Jerusalemu.
His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” says Adonai, whose fire is in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], and his furnace in Jerusalem [City of peace].
