< Ahibirania 4 >

1 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, kuona atĩ kĩĩranĩro gĩa gũtoonya ũhurũko-inĩ wake kĩrĩ o ho-rĩ, nĩtwĩmenyererei gũtikagĩe o na ũmwe wanyu ũtagagĩkinyĩra.
Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 Nĩgũkorwo o na ithuĩ nĩtũhunjĩirio Ũhoro-ũyũ-Mwega o tao; no ũhoro ũrĩa maaiguire ndũigana kũmaguna, tondũ arĩa maũiguire matiawamũkĩrire na wĩtĩkio.
For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].
3 Na rĩrĩ, ithuĩ arĩa twĩtĩkĩtie nĩ ithuĩ tũtoonyaga kĩhurũko-inĩ kĩu, o ta ũrĩa Ngai oigire atĩrĩ, “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngĩĩhĩta na mwĩhĩtwa ndakarĩte, ngiuga atĩrĩ, ‘Matirĩ hĩndĩ magaatoonya kĩhurũko-inĩ gĩakwa.’” O na gũtuĩka wĩra wake nĩwathirĩte kuuma o rĩrĩa thĩ yombirwo.
For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested the seventh day from all his works.
5 O na ningĩ hau mbere nĩoigĩte atĩrĩ, “Matirĩ hĩndĩ magaatoonya ũhurũko-inĩ wakwa.”
And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Nĩtũkuona atĩ nĩ kũrĩ amwe matigaire gũtoonya kĩhurũko-inĩ kĩu kĩeranĩirwo, nĩgũkorwo arĩa maahunjĩirio Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega mbere matiatoonyire tondũ nĩmagire gwathĩka.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached entered not because of unbelief:
7 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, o rĩngĩ Ngai akĩamũra mũthenya mũna, akĩwĩĩta Ũmũthĩ, thuutha wa matukũ maingĩ gũthira rĩrĩa aaririe na kanua ka Daudi, ta ũrĩa oigĩte hau mbere atĩrĩ: “Ũmũthĩ, mũngĩigua mũgambo wake, mũtikoomie ngoro cianyu.”
(Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To-day, after so long a time; as it is said, To-day, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 Tondũ korwo Joshua nĩamaheete ũhurũko-rĩ, Ngai ndangĩacookire kwaria ũhoro wa mũthenya ũngĩ thuutha ũcio.
For if Jesus had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 Tondũ ũcio nĩgũtigaire Thabatũ ya kũhurũka ya andũ a Ngai;
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 nĩgũkorwo mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũtoonyaga kĩhurũko-inĩ kĩa Ngai o nake nĩahurũkaga agatigana na wĩra wake, o ta ũrĩa Ngai aahurũkire agĩtigana na wĩra wake.
For he that hath entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his.)
11 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, nĩtwĩrutanĩrie na kĩyo gũtoonya ũhurũko-inĩ ũcio, nĩgeetha gũtikanagĩe mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ ũkaagũa nĩ ũndũ wa kũrũmĩrĩra kĩonereria kĩa ũremi wao.
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God [is] living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, kuona atĩ tũrĩ na mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai mũnene mũno ũrĩa ũhungurĩte agakinya o igũrũ, na nĩwe Jesũ mũrũ wa Ngai-rĩ, nĩtũrũmiei na hinya wĩtĩkio ũrĩa tuumbũraga.
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that hath passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.
15 Nĩgũkorwo tũtirĩ na mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai mũnene ũtangĩhota gũtũiguĩra tha ũhũthũ-inĩ witũ, no nĩ tũrĩ na ũmwe wanagerio ikĩro-inĩ ciothe o ta ithuĩ, no ndaigana kwĩhia.
For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but who was in all points tempted as [we are], [yet] without sin.
16 Hakĩrĩ ũguo-rĩ, nĩtũkuhĩrĩriei gĩtĩ kĩa Ũnene kĩrĩa kĩa Wega wake tũrĩ na ũũmĩrĩru, nĩgeetha tũkaiguĩrwo tha, na tuone Wega wake wa gũtũteithagia hĩndĩ ĩrĩa tũbatarĩte.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
