< Ahibirania 3 >

1 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, inyuĩ ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ atheru, o inyuĩ mũgwatanĩire ũhoro wa gwĩtwo kũrĩa kuumĩte na igũrũ, mwĩcũranagiei ũhoro wa Jesũ, o we mũtũmwo na mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene ũrĩa tuumbũraga ũhoro wake.
Whence, holy brethren, partners, in a heavenly calling, attentively consider the Apostle and High—priest of our confession—Jesus
2 We aarĩ mwĩhokeku kũrĩ ũrĩa wamwamũrire, o ta ũrĩa Musa aarĩ mwĩhokeku maũndũ-inĩ mothe ma nyũmba ya Ngai.
As one, faithful, to him who made him: as, Moses also, in [all] his house.
3 Jesũ nĩonekanĩte aagĩrĩire kũheo gĩtĩĩo kĩnene gũkĩra Musa, o ta ũrĩa mwaki wa nyũmba aagĩrĩirwo nĩ gũtĩĩo gũkĩra nyũmba yo nyene.
For, of more glory than Moses, hath, this one been counted worthy—by as much as more honour than, the house, hath, he that prepared it;
4 Nĩgũkorwo nyũmba o yothe nĩĩrĩ mũndũ ũrĩa wamĩakire, no Ngai nĩwe mwaki wa indo ciothe.
For, every house, is prepared by someone, —but, he that hath prepared all things, is, God.
5 Nake Musa, aarĩ mwĩhokeku maũndũ-inĩ mothe ma nyũmba ya Ngai arĩ o ndungata, agakĩrutaga ũira wa maũndũ marĩa makaaheanwo thuutha-inĩ.
Even Moses, indeed, was faithful in all his house, as an attendant, for a witness of the things which were to be spoken;
But, Christ, as, a Son, over his house, —whose house are, we, —if, the freedom of speech and boast of the hope, [throughout, firm, ] we hold fast.
7 Nĩ ũndũ-rĩ, o ta ũrĩa Roho Mũtheru oigaga, atĩrĩ: “Ũmũthĩ, mũngĩigua mũgambo wake,
Wherefore, —according as saith the Holy Spirit—To-day, if, unto his voice ye would hearken, do not
8 mũtikoomie ngoro cianyu ta hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mwanemeire, andũ makĩĩngeria marĩ kũu werũ-inĩ,
harden your hearts, —as in the embitterment, in the day of testing in the desert,
9 kũrĩa maithe manyu maangeririe na makĩndoria, na makĩona ciĩko ciakwa, ihinda rĩa mĩaka mĩrongo ĩna.
When your fathers tested by proving, and saw my works forty years.
10 Nĩkĩo ndaarakarĩire rũciaro rũu, ngĩkiuga atĩrĩ, ‘Ngoro cia andũ aya itururaga hĩndĩ ciothe, na matirĩ maamenya njĩra ciakwa.’
Wherefore I was sore vexed with this generation, and said, Always err they in their heart; —howbeit, they, learned not my ways:
11 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngĩĩhĩta na mwĩhĩtwa ndakarĩte, ngiuga atĩrĩ, ‘Matirĩ hĩndĩ magaatoonya kĩhurũko-inĩ gĩakwa.’”
So I sware in mine anger—they shall not enter into my rest!—
12 Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, mwĩmenyererei hatikagĩe o na ũmwe wanyu ũrĩ na ngoro ĩĩhagia na ĩtetĩkagia, ĩrĩa ĩgarũrũkaga, ĩgatigana na Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ muoyo.
Be taking heed, brethren, lest at any time, there shall be in any one of you, a wicked heart of unbelief, in revolting from a Living God.
13 No ũmanagĩrĩriai mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ o mũthenya, o rĩrĩa rĩothe mũthenya ũrĩĩtagwo Ũmũthĩ, nĩgeetha gũtikagĩe o na ũmwe wanyu ũkũũmio ngoro nĩ ũndũ wa kũheenererio nĩ mehia.
But be exhorting one another, on each successive day, —while the To-day is being named! lest any from among you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 Tondũ ũcio, tũngĩrũmia wega mwĩhoko ũrĩa twarĩ naguo kuuma o kĩambĩrĩria nginya ithirĩro-rĩ, nĩtũgaatuĩka a kũgwatanĩra hamwe na Kristũ.
For, partners of the Christ, have we become, —if, at least, the beginning of the confidence, throughout, firm, we hold fast:
15 O ta ũrĩa kwĩrĩtwo, atĩrĩ: “Ũmũthĩ, mũngĩigua mũgambo wake, mũtikoomie ngoro cianyu ta hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mwanemeire.”
So long as it is said—To-day, if, unto his voice, ye would hearken, do not harden your hearts, —as in the embitterment.
16 Nĩ andũ arĩkũ acio maaiguire na makĩmũkararia? Githĩ ti arĩa othe moimĩte Misiri matongoretio nĩ Musa?
For, who, though they heard, caused embitterment? Nay, indeed! did not all who come forth out of Egypt through Moses?
17 Ningĩ-rĩ, nĩ andũ arĩkũ aarakarĩire mĩaka ĩyo mĩrongo ĩna? Githĩ ti arĩa meehirie, na magĩkua, o arĩa ciimba ciao ciagũire kũu werũ-inĩ?
But, with whom, was be sore vexed forty years? Was it not with them who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the desert?
18 Ningĩ-rĩ, nĩ andũ arĩkũ Ngai ehĩtire na mwĩhĩtwa atĩ gũtirĩ hĩndĩ magaatoonya ũhurũko-inĩ wake, tiga o andũ acio maaregire kũmwathĩkĩra?
But, unto whom, sware he, that they should not enter into his rest, —save unto them who were obstinate?
19 Tũgakĩona atĩrĩ, matiahotire gũtoonya kuo nĩ ũndũ wa kwaga gwĩtĩkia kwao.
And we see, that they were not able to enter, because of unbelief.
