1 Rĩu-rĩ, gwĩtĩkia nĩkũgĩa na ma ya maũndũ marĩa twĩrĩgĩrĩire, na kũmenya na ma atĩ maũndũ marĩa tũtonaga marĩ ho.
Is now faith of [things] hoped for [the] assurance, of things [the] conviction not being seen.
2 Ũndũ ũcio nĩguo watũmire andũ arĩa maarĩ kuo tene magaathĩrĩrio.
In this for were commended the ancients.
3 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, nĩtũmenyaga atĩ thĩ yothe yombirwo na kiugo kĩa Ngai, na nĩ ũndũ ũcio indo iria cionagwo itiathondekirwo kuuma kũrĩ indo iria cionekanaga. (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand to have been formed the ages by declaration of God so that which not out of [things] being visible (the [thing] being seen *N(k)O*) becoming. (aiōn g165)

Without now faith [it is] impossible to please [Him]; To believe for it behooves the one drawing near to God that He exists and [that] to those earnestly seeking out Him a rewarder He becomes.
7 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Nuhu aamenyithirio ũhoro wa maũndũ marĩa matoonekete-rĩ, nĩaakire thabina arĩ na wĩtigiri wa ngoro nĩguo ahonokie andũ a nyũmba yake. Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia gwake nĩatuĩrĩire thĩ ciira, na agĩtuĩka mũgai wa ũthingu ũrĩa uumanaga na gwĩtĩkia.
By faith having been divinely instructed Noah concerning the [things] not yet seen having been moved with fear he prepared an ark for [the] salvation of the household of him, through which he condemned the world and of the according to faith righteousness [that is] he became heir.

By faith he sojourned in (the *k*) land of the promise as [in] a foreign [country] in tents having dwelt with Isaac and Jacob the joint-heirs of the promise same;

He was awaiting for the foundations having city of which [the] architect and builder [is] God.

By faith also herself Sarah ([being] barren *N*) power for [the] conception of seed received even beyond [the] opportune age (she brought forth *K*) since faithful she considered the [One] having promised.
12 Na nĩ ũndũ ũcio kuuma harĩ mũndũ ũyũ ũmwe, o na aarĩ ta mũndũ mũkuũ-rĩ, gũgĩciarwo njiaro nyingĩ o ta njata cia igũrũ, o na ta mũthanga ũrĩa ũtangĩtarĩka ũrĩ hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria.
Therefore also from one man were born, and he as good as dead, even as the stars of heaven in multitude and (as *N(k)O*) the sand by the shore of the sea countless.
13 Andũ aya othe maatũũrire marũmĩtie wĩtĩkio nginya rĩrĩa maakuire. Matiigana kũhingĩrio maũndũ marĩa meerĩirwo; no nĩmamonaga marĩ o kũraya na makamakenera. Nao nĩmoimbũraga atĩ o nĩ ageni na agendi gũkũ thĩ.
In faith died these all not (having received *NK(O)*) the promises but from afar them having seen and (having been persuaded and *K*) having embraced [them] and having confessed that strangers and sojourners they are on the earth.
14 Andũ arĩa moigaga maũndũ ta macio monanagia atĩ nĩ gwetha methaga bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ wao kĩũmbe.
Those for such things saying make manifest that their country they are seeking.
15 Korwo nĩmeeciiragia ũhoro wa bũrũri ũrĩa moimĩte-rĩ, nĩ mangĩagĩte na mweke wa gũcooka kuo.
And if indeed that [one] (they were remembering *NK(o)*) from where (they came out, *N(k)O*) they had then would opportunity to return;
16 Handũ ha ũguo, o meeriragĩria bũrũri mwega kũrĩ ũcio, naguo nĩ bũrũri wa igũrũ. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Ngai ndaconokaga gwĩtwo Ngai wao, nĩgũkorwo nĩahaarĩirie itũũra inene nĩ ũndũ wao.
(now *N(k)O*) however to a better [one] they stretch forward to, That is to a heavenly [one]; Therefore not is ashamed of them God God to be called of them; He has prepared indeed for them a city.

20 Na ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, Isaaka nĩarathimire Jakubu na Esaũ akĩratha ũhoro wa matukũ mao ma thuutha.
By faith (also *no*) concerning [the things] coming blessed Isaac Jacob and Esau.
21 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, Jakubu, rĩrĩa aarĩ hakuhĩ gũkua, nĩarathimire ariũ a Jusufu, o mũndũ riita rĩake, na akĩhooya Ngai enyiitĩrĩire mũthĩgi wake.
By faith Jacob dying each of the sons of Joseph blessed and worshiped on the top of the staff of him.
22 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, Jusufu, nake, ihinda rĩake rĩa mũthia rĩakuhĩrĩria, nĩaririe ũhoro wa gũthaama kwa andũ a Isiraeli kuuma bũrũri wa Misiri, na agĩathana ũhoro ũkoniĩ mahĩndĩ make.
By faith Joseph dying concerning the exodus of the sons of Israel made mention and concerning the bones of him gave instructions.
23 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, aciari a Musa nĩmamũhithire ihinda rĩa mĩeri ĩtatũ kuuma aaciarwo tondũ nĩmoonire aarĩ mwana mwega, na matietigĩrire watho wa mũthamaki.
By faith Moses having been born he was hidden three months by the parents of him because they saw [was] beautiful the little child and not they did fear the edict of the king.

By faith he left Egypt not having feared the anger of the king; the for Invisible [One] as seeing he persevered.

By faith the walls of Jericho (fell *N(k)O*) having been encircled for seven days.
31 Nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia-rĩ, mũmaraya ũrĩa wetagwo Rahabu, tondũ wa kũnyiita athigaani ũgeni, ndoraganĩirio na andũ arĩa maarĩ aremi.
By faith Rahab the prostitute not did perish with those having disobeyed having received the spies with peace.
32 Ingiuga atĩa ũngĩ? Ndirĩ na ihinda rĩa kũheana ũhoro wa Gideoni, na wa Baraka, na wa Samusoni, na wa Jefitha, na wa Daudi, na wa Samũeli, o na wa anabii,
And what more shall I say? Will fail me for telling the time of Gideon, Barak, (both and *k*) Samson, (and *k*) Jephthah, David also and Samuel and the prophets;

34 na makĩhoria mwaki warĩrĩmbũkaga, na makĩhonokio matikaniinwo na rũhiũ rwa njora; ũhinyaru wao wagarũrirwo ũgĩtuĩka hinya; ningĩ maarũire na ũcamba mbaara-inĩ na magĩtooria mbũtũ cia ita cia ndũrĩrĩ ingĩ.
quenched [the] power of fire, escaped [the] blades of [the] sword, (be empowered *N(k)O*) out of weakness, became mighty in war, [the] armies put to flight of foreigners.

Others then of mockings and of scourgings trial received, in addition also of chains and imprisonment;
37 Nĩmahũũrirwo na mahiga; o na magĩatũranio na thoo maita meerĩ; ningĩ makĩũragwo na hiũ cia njora. Maathiiaga mehumbĩte njũa cia ngʼondu na cia mbũri, na marĩ ngĩa, na makanyariirwo, o na magekagwo ũũru;
They were stoned, they were sawed in two (tested *KO*) by slaughter of [the] sword they were killed; they wandered in sheepskins, in goats’ skins, being destitute, being oppressed, being mistreated,
38 thĩ ndĩamaagĩrĩire. Moorũũraga werũ-inĩ na irĩma-inĩ, o na ngurunga-inĩ na miungu-inĩ ya thĩ.
of whom not was worthy the world; (in *N(k)O*) deserts wandering and in mountains and in caves and in the holes of the earth.
39 Andũ aya othe nĩmagathĩrĩirio nĩ ũndũ wa wĩtĩkio wao, no gũtirĩ o na ũmwe wao wahingĩirio kĩĩranĩro kĩrĩa kĩeranĩirwo.
And these all having been commended through the faith not did receive the promise
40 Ngai nĩatũhaarĩirie ũndũ mwega makĩria nĩgeetha andũ acio matigatuuo aagĩrĩru ithuĩ tũtarĩ hamwe nao.
God for us better something having planned, so that not apart from us they may be made perfect.
