< Ahibirania 10 >

1 Rĩu-rĩ, watho no kĩĩruru kĩa maũndũ mega marĩa magooka, no ti mũhianĩre wa maũndũ marĩa mo mene. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio watho ndũngĩhota gũtũma magongona marĩa marutagwo o mwaka o mwaka mategũtigithĩrio matũme andũ arĩa mookaga kũhooya Ngai magĩrĩre kũna.
For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
2 Tondũ korwo nĩ kwahotekire-rĩ, githĩ magongona macio matingĩagĩtigire kũrutagwo? Nĩgũkorwo arĩa maahooyaga nĩmangĩatheretio rĩmwe rĩa kũigana, na matingĩacookire gwĩcuukĩra mehia mao.
Or else would not they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
3 No rĩrĩ, magongona macio maarĩ ma kũririkanania mehia mwaka o mwaka,
But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Kristũ ookire gũkũ thĩ, oigire atĩrĩ: “Wee ti magongona na maruta weriragĩria, no nĩ mwĩrĩ wahaarĩrĩirie;
Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You did not desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.
You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
7 Hĩndĩ ĩyo ngiuga atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ũyũ haha, o ta ũrĩa ũhoro wakwa wandĩkĩtwo ibuku-inĩ rĩa gĩkũnjo, atĩrĩ: njũkĩte gwĩka wendi waku, Wee Ngai.’”
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”
Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you did not desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),
9 Ningĩ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ũyũ haha, njũkĩte gwĩka wendi waku.” Eeheragia ũhoro wa mbere nĩguo ahaande ũcio wa keerĩ.
then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Mũthenya o mũthenya mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai o wothe arũgamaga na akaruta mawĩra make makoniĩ kĩrĩra kĩa Ngai, agakĩruta magongona o ro macio kaingĩ kaingĩ, no nĩ magongona matangĩhota kweheria mehia.
Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
12 No rĩrĩ, mũthĩnjĩri Ngai ũyũ aarĩkia kũruta igongona rĩmwe rĩa kũigana rĩa kweheria mehia, nĩaikarire thĩ guoko-inĩ kwa ũrĩo kwa Ngai.
but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,
13 Kuuma hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩatũũraga etereire o nginya rĩrĩa thũ ciake igaatuuo gaturwa ka makinya make,
from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.
14 nĩ tondũ na ũndũ wa igongona rĩu rĩmwe, nĩatũmĩte arĩa maratuuo atheru magĩrĩre kũna nginya tene.
For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15 O nake Roho Mũtheru nĩatumbũragĩra ũhoro ũyũ. O mbere akoiga atĩrĩ:
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
16 “Gĩkĩ nĩkĩo kĩrĩkanĩro kĩrĩa ngaarĩkanĩra nao thuutha wa matukũ macio, ũguo nĩguo Mwathani ekuuga. Nĩngekĩra mawatho makwa ngoro-inĩ ciao, na ndĩmaandĩke meciiria-inĩ mao.”
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,
17 Ningĩ agacooka akoiga atĩrĩ: “Ndigacooka kũririkana mehia mao na ciĩko ciao cia ũremi o rĩ o rĩ.”
“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”
18 Na rĩrĩ, mehia marĩkia kũrekanĩrwo-rĩ, gũtingĩcooka kũrutwo igongona rĩngĩ rĩa kweheria mehia.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
20 tondũ nĩatũhingũrĩire njĩra njerũ na ĩrĩ muoyo ya kũhĩtũkĩra gĩtambaya-inĩ, nakĩo nĩkĩo mwĩrĩ wake,
by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,
and having a great priest over God’s house,
22 nĩtũkuhĩrĩrie Ngai tũrĩ na ngoro itarĩ na ũhinga, na tũiyũrĩtwo nĩ wĩtĩkio kũna, nacio ngoro ciitũ iminjaminjĩirio nĩguo tũtherio thamiri ciitũ ciage ũcuuke nayo mĩĩrĩ iitũ ĩthambĩtio na maaĩ matheru.
let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water,
23 Ningĩ nĩtũrũmiei ũhoro wa kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro kĩrĩa tuumbũraga tũtegũthangania, nĩgũkorwo ũrĩa wĩranĩire kĩĩranĩro kĩu nĩ mwĩhokeku.
let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
25 Na ningĩ tũtigatige kũnganaga hamwe, ta ũrĩa andũ amwe mamenyerete gwĩkaga, no nĩtũmanagĩrĩriei mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ, na makĩria mũno tondũ wa ũrĩa mũkuona atĩ Mũthenya ũcio nĩũrakuhĩrĩria.
not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
27 tiga o gweterera tũrĩ na guoya ciira o na mwaki ũrĩrĩmbũkaga ũrĩa ũkaaniina thũ cia Ngai.
but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 Nĩgũkorwo nĩtũũĩ ũrĩa woigire atĩrĩ, “Kũrĩhanĩria nĩ gwakwa, na nĩ niĩ ngaarĩhanĩria,” na ningĩ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Mwathani nĩwe ũgaatuĩra andũ ake ciira.”
For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
31 Nĩ ũndũ wa kũguoyohia mũno mũndũ gũkumbatwo nĩ Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ muoyo.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 Ririkanai matukũ ma tene thuutha wanyu kwarĩrwo nĩ ũtheri, ũrĩa mweyũmĩrĩirie mbaara nene rĩrĩa mwanyariiragwo.
But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:
33 Mahinda mamwe mwathĩĩnagio mbere ya kĩrĩndĩ mũkĩrumagwo; na mahinda mangĩ nĩmwanyiitanagĩra na arĩa meekagwo ũguo.
partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
35 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, mũtigate ũũmĩrĩru ũcio wanyu; nĩgũkorwo nĩũkamũrehere uumithio mũnene.
Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
36 Mwagĩrĩirwo nĩgũkirĩrĩria, nĩguo mwarĩkia gwĩka ũrĩa Ngai endaga, mũkaamũkĩra kĩrĩa eeranĩire.
For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
37 Nĩgũkorwo kahinda kanini gaathira-rĩ, “Ũrĩa ũroka nĩegũka, na ndegũtĩĩra.
“In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.
38 No mũndũ wakwa ũrĩa mũthingu agaatũũra muoyo nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia. Na angĩgacooka na thuutha, ngoro yakwa ndĩgakenio nĩwe.”
But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39 No ithuĩ tũtirĩ a thiritũ ya arĩa macookaga na thuutha makora, no tũrĩ a thiritũ ya arĩa metĩkagia, makahonokio.
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
