1 Na rĩrĩ, thuutha wa maũndũ macio, rĩrĩa Aritashashita mũthamaki wa Perisia aathamakaga, Ezara mũrũ wa Seraia, mũrũ wa Azaria, mũrũ wa Hilikia,
Now after these things, in the reigne of Artahshashte King of Persia, was Ezra the sonne of Seraiah, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Hilkiah,
2 mũrũ wa Shalumu, mũrũ wa Zadoku, mũrũ wa Ahitubu,
The sonne of Shallum, the sonne of Zadok, the sonne of Ahitub,
3 mũrũ wa Amaria, mũrũ wa Azaria, mũrũ wa Meraiothu,
The sonne of Amariah, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Meraioth,
4 mũrũ wa Zerahia, mũrũ wa Uzi, mũrũ wa Buki,
The sonne of Zeraiah, the sonne of Vzzi, the sonne of Bukki,
5 mũrũ wa Abishua, mũrũ wa Finehasi, mũrũ wa Eleazaru, mũrũ wa Harũni mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene,
The sonne of Abishua, the sonne of Phinehas, the sonne of Eleazar, the sonne of Aaron, the chiefe Priest.
6 Ezara ũcio nĩambatire oimĩte Babuloni. Aarĩ mũrutani mũũgĩ mũno ũhoro-inĩ wa Watho wa Musa, ũrĩa Jehova Ngai wa Isiraeli aaheanĩte. Mũthamaki nĩamũheete indo ciothe iria aahooete kũrĩ we, tondũ guoko kwa Jehova Ngai wake kwarĩ hamwe nake.
This Ezra came vp from Babel, and was a Scribe prompt in the Lawe of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had giuen, and the King gaue him all his request according to the hande of the Lord his God which was vpon him.
7 Andũ amwe a Isiraeli, hamwe na athĩnjĩri-Ngai, na Alawii, na aini a nyĩmbo, na aikaria a ihingo, na ndungata cia hekarũ o nao nĩmambatire magĩũka Jerusalemu mwaka wa mũgwanja wa wathani wa Aritashashita.
And there went vp certaine of the children of Israel, and of the Priests, and the Leuites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims vnto Ierusalem, in the seuenth yere of King Artahshashte.
8 Ezara aakinyire Jerusalemu mweri wa gatano wa mwaka wa mũgwanja wa mũthamaki.
And hee came to Ierusalem in the fift moneth, which was in the seuenth yeere of the King.
9 Aambĩrĩirie rũgendo rwake rwa kuuma Babuloni mũthenya wa mbere wa mweri wa mbere, na aakinyire Jerusalemu mũthenya wa mbere wa mweri wa gatano, tondũ guoko kwa ũtugi kwa Ngai wake kwarĩ hamwe nake.
For vpon the first day of the first moneth began he to goe vp from Babel, and on the first day of the fift moneth came he to Ierusalem, according to the good hande of his God that was vpon him.
10 Nĩgũkorwo Ezara nĩerutĩire gũthoma na kũrũmia Watho wa Jehova, na kũrutana watho wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo na mawatho maguo kũu Isiraeli.
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seeke the Lawe of the Lord, and to doe it, and to teach the precepts and iudgements in Israel.
11 Ĩno nĩyo kobi ya marũa marĩa Mũthamaki Aritashashita aaheete Ezara ũcio mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai na mũrutani, mũndũ warĩ mũũgĩ maũndũ-inĩ makoniĩ maathani na mawatho ma kũrũmĩrĩrwo ma Jehova harĩ Isiraeli:
And this is the copie of the letter that King Artahshashte gaue vnto Ezra the Priest and scribe, euen a writer of the words of the commadements of ye Lord, and of his statutes ouer Israel.
12 Aritashashita, mũthamaki wa athamaki, Kũrĩ Ezara ũrĩa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai na mũrutani wa Watho wa Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ: Nĩndakũgeithia.
ARTAHSHASHTE King of Kings to Ezra the Priest and perfite scribe of the Lawe of the God of heauen, and to Cheeneth.
13 Rĩu-rĩ, nĩndaruta watho atĩ andũ a Isiraeli othe arĩa marĩ ũthamaki-inĩ wakwa, hamwe na athĩnjĩri-Ngai na Alawii, arĩa mangĩenda gũthiĩ nawe kũu Jerusalemu, no mathiĩ.
I haue giuen commandement, that euery one, that is willing in my kingdome of the people of Israel, and of the Priestes, and Leuites to goe to Ierusalem with thee, shall goe.
14 Wee ũtũmĩtwo nĩ mũthamaki na ataari ake mũgwanja, ũthiĩ ũgatuĩrie ũhoro wa Juda na wa Jerusalemu, o ta ũrĩa Watho wa Ngai waku ũrĩa ũrĩ naguo guoko-inĩ gwaku ũtariĩ.
Therefore art thou sent of the King and his seuen counsellers, to enquire in Iudah and Ierusalem, according to the lawe of thy God, which is in thine hand,
15 O na ningĩ ũkuue betha na thahabu, iria mũthamaki na ataari ake maheanĩte na kwĩyendera kũrĩ Ngai wa Isiraeli ũrĩa ũtũũraga Jerusalemu,
And to carry the siluer and the gold, which the King and his cousellers willingly offer vnto the God of Israel (whose habitation is in Ierusalem)
16 hamwe na betha na thahabu ciothe iria ingĩheanwo kuuma bũrũri wa Babuloni, o na mĩhothi ya kwĩyendera kuuma kũrĩ andũ na athĩnjĩri-Ngai, nĩ ũndũ wa hekarũ ya Ngai wao ĩrĩa ĩrĩ Jerusalemu.
And all the siluer and gold that thou canst finde in all the prouince of Babel, with the free offring of the people, and that which the Priestes offer willingly to the house of their God which is in Ierusalem,
17 Menyerera wone atĩ mbeeca ici nĩciagũra ndegwa, na ndũrũme na tũtũrũme, hamwe na maruta ma ngano na ma kũnyuuo, irutwo igongona hau kĩgongona-inĩ kĩa hekarũ ya Ngai waku kũu Jerusalemu.
That thou mayest bye speedily with this siluer, bullocks, rammes, lambes, with their meate offrings and their drinke offrings: and thou shalt offer them vpon the altar of the house of your God, which is in Ierusalem.
18 Wee na ariũ a thoguo Ayahudi no mwĩke o ũrĩa mũngĩona kwagĩrĩire na matigari ma betha na thahabu, kũringana na wendi wa Ngai wanyu.
And whatsoeuer it pleaseth thee and thy brethren to do with the rest of the siluer, and gold, doe ye it according to the will of your God.
19 Twarĩrai Ngai wa Jerusalemu indo ciothe iria mwĩhokeirwo cia kũhũthagĩrwo mahooya-inĩ thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ya Ngai wanyu.
And the vessels that are giuen thee for the seruice of the house of thy God, those deliuer thou before God in Ierusalem.
20 Na kĩndũ kĩngĩ o gĩothe kĩngĩendekana nĩ ũndũ wa hekarũ ya Ngai wanyu, o kĩrĩa ũngĩona mweke wa kũheana, no ũkĩrute kuuma kĩgĩĩna-inĩ kĩa mũthamaki.
And the residue that shall be needeful for the house of thy God, which shall be meete for thee to bestowe, thou shalt bestowe it out of the Kings treasure house,
21 Na rĩrĩ, niĩ Mũthamaki Aritashashita, nĩndatha aigi othe a kĩgĩĩna a Mũrĩmo-wa-Farati maheane na kĩyo kĩrĩa gĩothe Ezara ũrĩa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai, na mũrutani wa watho wa Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ angĩbatario nĩkĩo,
And I King Artahshashte haue giuen commandemet to all the treasurers which are beyond the Riuer, that whatsoeuer Ezra the Priest and Scribe of the Law of the God of heauen shall require of you, that it be done incontinently,
22 gĩtakĩrĩte taranda igana rĩmwe cia betha, na kori igana rĩmwe cia ngano, na bathi igana rĩmwe cia ndibei, na bathi igana rĩmwe cia maguta ma mĩtamaiyũ, na cumbĩ ũtarĩ gĩthimi.
Vnto an hundreth talents of siluer, vnto an hundreth measures of wheate, and vnto an hundreth baths of wine, and vnto an hundreth baths of oyle, and salt without writing.
23 Ũndũ ũrĩa wothe Ngai wa igũrũ atuĩte, nĩwĩkwo na kĩyo, ũndũ wothe ũkoniĩ hekarũ ya Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ. Nĩ kĩĩ kĩngĩtũma kũgĩe na mangʼũrĩ ũthamaki-inĩ wa mũthamaki na ariũ ake?
Whatsoeuer is by the commandement of the God of heauen, let it be done speedily for the house of the God of heauen: for why should he be wroth against the realme of the King, and his children?
24 Ningĩ mũmenye atĩ mũtirĩ na watho wa gwĩtia mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai o wothe, na Alawii, na aini a nyĩmbo, na aikaria a ihingo, na ndungata cia hekarũ, kana andũ arĩa angĩ marutaga wĩra nyũmba-inĩ ĩyo ya Ngai igooti, kana maruta ma mũthamaki o na kana igooti rĩa mĩrigo ĩgĩtoonya bũrũri-inĩ.
And we certifie you, that vpon any of the Priestes, Leuites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or Ministers in this house of God, there shall no gouernour laye vpon them tolle, tribute nor custome.
25 Nawe Ezara, kũringana na ũũgĩ wa Ngai waku ũrĩa ũrĩ naguo, thuura aciirithania na atui a ciira nĩguo matuagĩre andũ othe a Mũrĩmo-wa-Farati ciira na kĩhooto, arĩa othe mooĩ watho wa Ngai wanyu. Nao arĩa matooĩ ũmarute.
And thou Ezra (after the wisedome of thy God, that is in thine hand) set iudges and arbiters, which may iudge all the people that is beyond the Riuer, euen all that knowe the Lawe of thy God, and teach ye them that know it not.
26 Mũndũ o wothe ũtarĩathĩkagĩra watho wa Ngai waku na watho wa mũthamaki no nginya aherithio na ũndũ wa kũũragwo, kana aingatwo bũrũri, o na kana indo ciake itahwo, kana ohwo njeera.
And whosoeuer will not doe the Lawe of thy God, and the Kings lawe, let him haue iudgement without delay, whether it be vnto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
27 Jehova arogoocwo, Ngai wa maithe maitũ, ũrĩa wĩkĩrĩte ũndũ ũcio ngoro-inĩ ya mũthamaki, atĩ atĩĩithie nyũmba ya Jehova ĩrĩa ĩrĩ kũu Jerusalemu na njĩra ĩno,
Blessed be the Lord God of our fathers, which so hath put in the Kings heart, to beautifie the house of the Lord that is in Ierusalem,
28 o ũcio ũtũmĩte njĩtĩkĩrĩke mbere ya mũthamaki, na ataarani ake, na anene othe a mũthamaki arĩa marĩ ũhoti. Tondũ guoko kwa Jehova Ngai wakwa kwarĩ hamwe na niĩ, nĩndeyũmĩrĩirie, ngĩcookanĩrĩria atongoria a Isiraeli nĩguo twambate nao.
And hath enclined mercy toward me, before the King and his counsellers, and before all the Kings mightie Princes: and I was comforted by the hand of the Lord my God which was vpon me, and I gathered the chiefe of Israel to goe vp with me.
