1 Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ, “Rĩu nĩũkuona ũrĩa ngwĩka Firaũni: Nĩ tondũ wa guoko gwakwa kũrĩ hinya-rĩ, nĩakamarekereria mathiĩ; na ningĩ nĩ tondũ wa guoko gwakwa kũrĩ hinya, nĩakamaingata moime bũrũri wake.”
But the Lord told Moses, “Now you'll see what I'm going to do to Pharaoh. Using my great strength I will force him to let them go; because of my power he will send them out from his country.”
2 Ngai agĩcooka akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ, “Nĩ niĩ Jehova.
God spoke to Moses and told him, “I am Yahweh!
3 Nĩ niĩ ndoimĩrĩire Iburahĩmu, na Isaaka, o na Jakubu ndĩ Mũrungu Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, no matiamenyire na rĩĩtwa rĩu rĩakwa Jehova.
I revealed myself as God Almighty to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, but they didn't know my name, ‘Yahweh.’
4 O na nĩndathondekire kĩrĩkanĩro gĩakwa nao atĩ nĩngamahe bũrũri wa Kaanani, kũrĩa maatũũraga marĩ ageni.
I also confirmed my solemn agreement with them to give them the land of Canaan, the country where they were living as foreigners.
5 Na makĩria-rĩ, nĩnjiguĩte gũcaaya kwa andũ a Isiraeli, arĩa matuĩtwo ngombo nĩ andũ a Misiri, na nĩndirikanĩte kĩrĩkanĩro gĩakwa nao.
In addition I've heard the groans of the Israelites that the Egyptians are treating as slaves, and I haven't forgotten the agreement I promised them.
6 “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ĩra andũ a Isiraeli atĩrĩ: ‘Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova, na nĩngamwaũra icooki rĩu mũigĩrĩirwo nĩ andũ a Misiri. Nĩngamuohora mũtige gũcooka gũtuĩka ngombo ciao, na nĩngamũkũũra ndambũrũkĩtie guoko na ciĩko nene cia ũtuanĩri ciira.
So tell the Israelites, ‘I am the Lord and I will save you from the forced labor the Egyptians are making you do; I will set you free from being their slaves. I will rescue you using my power and imposing heavy punishments.
7 Ngaamuoya ta andũ akwa kĩũmbe, na nduĩke Ngai wanyu. Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩmũkamenya atĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova Ngai wanyu ũrĩa wamũrutire icooki-inĩ rĩa andũ a Misiri.
I will make you my own people. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt.
8 Na nĩngamũtwara bũrũri ũrĩa ndeeranĩire na mwĩhĩtwa nyambararĩtie guoko atĩ nĩngaahe Iburahĩmu, na Isaaka, o na Jakubu. Nĩguo ngũmũhe mũwĩgwatĩre ũtuĩke wanyu. Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova.’”
I will take you to the land that I solemnly promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you to own. I am the Lord!’”
9 Musa agĩkĩheana ũhoro ũcio kũrĩ andũ a Isiraeli, no matiamũiguire nĩ ũrĩa maakuĩte ngoro nĩkũhinyĩrĩrio nĩ ũkombo.
Moses explained this to the Israelites but they did not listen to him, because they were so discouraged and because of the hard labor they were forced to do.
10 Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,
Then the Lord said to Moses,
11 “Thiĩ wĩre Firaũni, mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Misiri arekererie andũ a Isiraeli moime bũrũri wake.”
“Go and speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Tell him to let the Israelites leave his country.”
12 No Musa akĩĩra Jehova atĩrĩ, “Angĩkorwo andũ a Isiraeli matingĩnjigua-rĩ, nĩkĩ kĩngĩtũma Firaũni anjigue, kuona njaragia ngĩtondoiraga?”
But Moses replied, “Even my own people don't listen to me. Why would Pharaoh listen to me, especially since I'm such a poor speaker?”
13 Ngai nĩacookire akĩaria na Musa na Harũni ũhoro wĩgiĩ andũ a Isiraeli na Firaũni mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Misiri na akĩmaatha marute andũ a Isiraeli moime bũrũri wa Misiri.
But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and told them what to do regarding the people of Israel and Pharaoh, king of Egypt, in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
14 Aya nĩo maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao: Ariũ a Rubeni ũrĩa irigithathi rĩa Isiraeli maarĩ Hanoku na Palu, na Hezironi, na Karimi. Acio nĩo maarĩ mbarĩ cia Rubeni.
These were the Israelite family heads. The sons of Reuben, the firstborn son of Israel, were Hanok and Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the families of Reuben.
15 Ariũ a Simeoni maarĩ Jemueli, na Jamini, na Ohadi, na Jakini, na Sohari, na Shauli ũrĩa warĩ mũriũ wa mũtumia Mũkaanani. Acio nĩo maarĩ mbarĩ cia Simeoni.
The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, (the son of a Canaanite woman). These were the families of Simeon.
16 Maya nĩmo maarĩ marĩĩtwa ma ariũ a Lawi kũringana na maandĩko mao: Gerishoni, na Kohathu, na Merari. Lawi aatũũrire muoyo mĩaka 137.
These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their genealogical records: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived for 137 years.
17 Ariũ a Gerishoni kũringana na mbarĩ ciao maarĩ Libini na Shimei.
The sons of Gershon, by families, were Libni and Shimei.
18 Ariũ a Kohathu maarĩ Amuramu, na Iziharu, na Hebironi, na Uzieli. Kohathu aatũũrire muoyo mĩaka 133.
The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath lived for 133 years.
19 Ariũ a Merari maarĩ Mahali na Mushi. Acio nĩo maarĩ mbarĩ cia Lawi kũringana na maandĩko mao.
The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the families of the Levites according to their genealogical records.
20 Amuramu nĩahikirie mwarĩ wa nyina na ithe wetagwo Jokebedi, ũrĩa wamũciarĩire Harũni na Musa. Amuramu aatũũrire muoyo mĩaka 137.
Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, and she had their sons Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for 137 years.
21 Ariũ a Iziharu maarĩ Kora, na Nefegu, na Zikiri.
The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 Ariũ a Uzieli maarĩ Mishaeli, na Elizafani, na Sithiri.
The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
23 Harũni nĩahikirie Elisheba, mwarĩ wa Aminadabu, o ũrĩa warĩ mwarĩ wa nyina na Nahashoni, nake akĩmũciarĩra Nadabu na Abihu, na Eleazaru, na Ithamaru.
Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon. She had their sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 Ariũ a Kora maarĩ Asiri, na Elikana, na Abiasafu. Acio nĩo mbarĩ cia Akora.
The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite families.
25 Eleazaru mũrũ wa Harũni nĩahikirie mũirĩtu ũmwe wa Putieli, nake akĩmũciarĩra Finehasi. Acio nĩo maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba cia Alawii, o mbarĩ o mbarĩ.
Eleazar, son of Aaron, married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she had their son Phinehas. These are the ancestors of the Levite families, listed according to their clans. Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she gave birth to his son, Phinehas. These are the heads of the Levite families, listed by family.
26 Harũni o ũcio, marĩ na Musa, nĩo meerirwo nĩ Jehova atĩrĩ, “Rutai andũ a Isiraeli kuuma bũrũri wa Misiri kũringana na ikundi ciao.”
Aaron and Moses mentioned here are the ones the Lord told, “Lead the Israelites out of Egypt, divided up in their respective tribes.”
27 Nĩo maarĩirie Firaũni, mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Misiri, ũhoro wa kũruta andũ a Isiraeli kuuma bũrũri wa Misiri. Maarĩ Musa o ũcio na Harũni.
Moses and Aaron were also the ones who went to speak with Pharaoh, king of Egypt, about the Israelites leaving Egypt.
28 Na rĩrĩ, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jehova aarĩirie Musa arĩ kũu bũrũri wa Misiri-rĩ,
When the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt,
29 aamwĩrire atĩrĩ, “Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova. Ĩra Firaũni mũthamaki wa bũrũri wa Misiri ũrĩa wothe ngũkwĩra.”
he said to him, “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I tell you.”
30 No Musa akĩĩra Jehova atĩrĩ, “Kuona njaragia ngĩtondoiraga-rĩ, Firaũni angĩkĩnjigua nĩkĩ?”
But Moses replied, “I'm not a good speaker—why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
