1 Gĩkĩ nĩkĩo kĩrathimo kĩrĩa Musa mũndũ wa Ngai aarathimire andũ a Isiraeli atanakua.
Now, this, is the blessing wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel, —before his death.
2 Akiuga atĩrĩ: “Jehova nĩokire kuuma Sinai, na akĩmathererũkĩra kuuma Seiru; akĩmaarĩra kuuma kĩrĩma gĩa Parani. Ookire na ikundi cia arĩa atheru kuuma gũthini, akiuma iharũrũka-inĩ cia irĩma ciake.
And he said—Yahweh from Sinai, came near, —Yea he dawned, out of Seir, upon them, He shone forth out of Mount Paran, Yea he came out of holy myriads, —Out of his right hand [proceeded] fire to guide them.
3 Ti-itherũ wee nĩwe wendete andũ; arĩa othe atheru marĩ guoko-inĩ gwaku. Othe mainamagĩrĩra magũrũ-inĩ maku, makaamũkĩra ũrutani kuuma harĩwe,
Yea he loved the tribes, All his holy ones, were in thy hand, —Yea, they, were encamped at thy feet, Each one bare away some of thy words.
4 watho ũrĩa twaheirwo nĩ Musa, nĩguo igai rĩa ũngano wa Jakubu.
A law, did Moses command us, —A possession, for the convocation of Jacob.
5 Nĩwe warĩ mũthamaki wa Jeshuruni, rĩrĩa atongoria a andũ moonganĩte, marĩ hamwe na mĩhĩrĩga ya Isiraeli.
Thus became he in, Jeshurun, a king, —When the heads of the people gathered them-selves together, As one man, the tribes of Israel. [Reuben] —
6 “Rubeni arotũũra na ndagakue, o na kana andũ ake manyiihe.”
Let Reuben live and not die, —Nor his men be easily counted.
7 Na ha ũhoro wa Juda akiuga atĩrĩ, “Wee Jehova, thikĩrĩria kĩrĩro kĩa Juda; mũrehe kũrĩ andũ ake. Nĩarũagĩrĩra maũndũ make na guoko gwake. Wee-rĩ, tuĩka wa kũmũteithia akĩrũa na thũ ciake.”
And, this, is for Judah, when he said, Hear, O Yahweh, the voice of Judah, That unto his own people, thou wouldst bring him home, —Let, his own hands, suffice him, And, a helper from his adversaries, do thou become.
8 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Lawi oigire atĩrĩ: “Thumimu yaku na Urimu yaku nĩ cia mũndũ ũrĩa ũkenagio nĩwe. Nĩwamũgeririe arĩ kũu Masa; ũkĩmũrũithia kũu maaĩ-inĩ ma Meriba.
And of Levi, he said: Let, thy perfections and thy lights, belong unto thy man of lovingkindness, —Whom thou didst put to the proof at Massah, With whom thou didst contend over the waters of Meribah;
9 Ũhoro wa ithe na nyina oigire atĩrĩ, ‘Ndirameciiria.’ Ndaigana kũmenya ariũ a ithe, kana akĩrũmbũiya ciana ciake mwene, no nĩamenyereire kiugo gĩaku, na akĩgitĩra kĩrĩkanĩro gĩaku.
Who saith of his father and of his mother, I behold them not, And, his own brethren, regardeth he not, And, his own sons, observeth he not, —Because they watch thy speech, That, thy covenant, they may preserve;
10 Nĩarutaga Jakubu kĩrĩra kĩa watho waku, na akaruta Isiraeli watho waku. Nĩarutagĩra ũbumba mbere yaku, na akarutĩra magongona ma njino marĩ magima kĩgongona-inĩ gĩaku.
May teach thy regulations unto Jacob, And thy law unto Israel, —May put incense in thy nostrils, And a whole-offering upon thine altar.
11 Rathima ũmenyi wake wa wĩra, Wee Jehova, na ũkenagĩre wĩra wa moko make. Gũtha njohero cia arĩa mekũmũũkĩrĩra; ringa thũ ciake itigacooke kwarahũka rĩngĩ.”
Bless, O Yahweh his substance, And with the work of his hands, wilt thou be well pleased, —Crush thou the loins of them who rise up against him, And of them who hate him, that they rise not again.
12 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Benjamini oigire atĩrĩ: “Reke ũrĩa wendetwo nĩ Jehova ahurũke atarĩ na ũgwati harĩ we, nĩgũkorwo amũgitagĩra mũthenya wothe, nake ũrĩa Jehova endete ahurũkaga gatagatĩ-inĩ ga ciande ciake.”
Of Benjamin, he said, The beloved of Yahweh, shall settle down securely, —With one to throw a shade over him all the day long, Yea, between his shoulders, hath he found rest.
13 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Jusufu oigire atĩrĩ: “Jehova arorathima bũrũri wake na ime rĩega rĩa kuuma igũrũ, na maaĩ ma kũrĩa kũriku marĩa marĩ na thĩ;
And of Joseph, he said, Blessed of Yahweh, be his land, —With the precious things of the heavens with the dew, And with the abyss, couching beneath;
14 hamwe na indo iria njega mũno ireehagwo nĩ riũa, na kĩrĩa kĩega mũno kĩngiuma kũrĩ mweri;
And with the precious fruits of the sun, —And with the precious yield of the moons;
15 aũrathime na iheo iria thuuranĩre cia irĩma-inĩ cia tene, na maciaro ma tũrĩma twa tene na tene;
And with the chief of the ancient mountains, —And with the precious things of the age-abiding hills;
16 hamwe na iheo iria njega mũno cia thĩ, na indo iria ciyũrĩte kuo, na ũtugi ũrĩa waikarĩte kĩhinga-inĩ kĩrĩa kĩahĩaga. Maũndũ maya mothe maroikara mũtwe-inĩ wa Jusufu, maroikara ũthiũ-inĩ wa mũriũ wa mũthamaki arĩ harĩ ariũ a ithe.
And with the precious things of the earth and its fulness, And with the goodwill of One who dwelt in a thorn-bush.—Let it come on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was consecrated among his brethren.
17 Ũnene-inĩ wake ahaana ta ndegwa ya irigithathi; hĩa ciake igakĩhaana ta cia ndegwa ya gĩthaka-inĩ. Nĩagatheeca ndũrĩrĩ na cio, o na ndũrĩrĩ iria irĩ ituri cia thĩ. Ũguo nĩguo kũrĩ makũmi-inĩ ma ngiri ma Efiraimu; ũguo noguo kũrĩ harĩ ngiri na ngiri cia Manase.”
His firstborn ox, be an honour to him. And the horns of a buffalo, be his horns, With them, let him thrust, peoples, All at once, to the ends of the earth, —Yea, [with] these, the myriads of Ephraim, And, [with] those, the thousands of Manasseh.
18 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Zebuluni oigire atĩrĩ: “Kena, wee Zebuluni, ũkiumagara, nawe Isakaru ũkene ũrĩ hema-inĩ ciaku.
And, of Zebulun, he said, Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out, —And [thou], Issachar in thy tents:
19 Nĩmagatũmanĩra andũ moke irĩma-inĩ marutĩre magongona ma ũthingu kuo; nĩmakaarĩa indo nyingĩ cia iria-inĩ, na marĩe mĩthithũ ĩrĩa mĩhithe mũthanga-inĩ.”
The peoples, unto the mountain, will they call, There, will they offer the sacrifices of righteousness, —For, the abundance of the seas, will they suck, Hidden treasures of the sand.
20 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Gadi oigire atĩrĩ: “Kũrathimwo nĩ ũrĩa ũkwaramia mĩhaka ya Gadi! Gadi atũũraga kuo ta mũrũũthi, atambuuraga guoko kana mũtwe.
And, of Gad, he said: Blessed, be he that hath made room for Gad, —As a lioness, hath he laid himself down, And hath torn an arm likewise the crown of the head;
21 Ethuurĩire bũrũri ũrĩa mwega mũno; akĩigĩrwo gĩcunjĩ kĩa mũtongoria. Rĩrĩa anene a andũ moonganire, nĩ eekire maũndũ ma kĩhooto kĩa Jehova, na matua makoniĩ Isiraeli.”
And hath provided a first part for himself, For, there, a commander’s portion hath been hid, —So he cometh with the heads of the people, The righteousness of Yahweh, he executeth, And his regulations, with Israel.
22 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Dani oigire atĩrĩ: “Dani nĩ kĩana kĩa mũrũũthi, kĩguthũkĩte kiumĩte Bashani.”
And, of Dan, he said, Dan, is a lion’s whelp, —He leapeth out of Bashan.
23 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Nafitali oigire atĩrĩ: “Nafitali nĩaingĩhĩirwo nĩ ũtugi wa Jehova, na aiyũrĩtwo nĩ kĩrathimo gĩake; nĩakagaya mwena wa gũthini o nginya iria-inĩ.”
And, of Naphtali, he said, O Naphtali! satisfied with favour, And full with the blessing of Yahweh, —The west and the sunny south, do thou possess.
24 Ũndũ wĩgiĩ Asheri oigire atĩrĩ: “Mũriũ ũrĩa mũrathime gũkĩra arĩa angĩ othe nĩ Asheri; ariũ a ithe maroomwendaga, na arothambagia nyarĩrĩ ciake na maguta.
And, of Asher, he said, Most blessed of sons, be Asher, —Let him have the goodwill of his brethren, And let him dip, in oil, his foot:
25 Hingĩro cia ihingo ciaku igaakorwo irĩ cia kĩgera na cia gĩcango, naguo hinya waku ũkaaiganana na matukũ maku.
Iron and bronze, be thy sandals, And, as thy days, be thy strength.
26 “Gũtirĩ ngai ũhaana ta Mũrungu wa Jeshuruni, o we ũgeragĩra igũrũ oke agũteithie, na agaikarĩra matu onanie ũnene wake.
There is none like GOD, O Jeshurun, —Riding upon the heavens to thy help, —And for his own majesty, on the skies;
27 Ngai ũrĩa ũtũũraga tene na tene nĩwe kĩĩhitho gĩaku, namo moko make matũũraga nginya tene na tene marĩ mũhuro waku. Nĩakarutũrũra thũ yaku yehere mbere yaku, akiugaga atĩrĩ, ‘Mĩniine!’
Above, is the God of aforetime, And, beneath, are the Arms of the ages, —So he driveth before thee the foe, And doth say—Destroy!
28 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Isiraeli agaatũũra arĩ wiki atarĩ na ũgwati; gĩthima kĩa Jakubu nĩkĩgitĩre o kũu bũrũri wa ngano, na ndibei ya mũhihano, kũrĩa ime rĩa igũrũ rĩtataga.
Thus hath Israel settled down securely, Alone, the fountain of Jacob, Within a land both of corn and new wine, —His heaven also droppeth down dew.
29 Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩwe Isiraeli! Nũũ ũkĩhaana ta we, rũrĩrĩ rũhonoketio nĩ Jehova? Nĩwe ngo yaku na mũgũteithia, na nowe rũhiũ rwaku rwa njora rũrĩ riiri. Thũ ciaku nĩikaaigua guoya irĩ mbere yaku, nawe nĩũkarangĩrĩria kũndũ gwacio kũrĩa gũtũũgĩru.”
How happy art thou, O Israel! Who is like unto thee, O people victorious in Yahweh? Thy helpful shield, who also is thy majestic sword, —So that thy foes come cringing unto thee, And, thou, upon their heights, dost march along.
