< Gũcookerithia 14 >
1 Inyuĩ nĩ inyuĩ ciana cia Jehova Ngai wanyu. Mũtikanetemange kana mwenjwo ihara ũthiũ-inĩ nĩ ũndũ wa mũndũ mũkuũ,
Ye are the children of the Lord your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 nĩgũkorwo mũrĩ andũ mamũrĩirwo Jehova Ngai wanyu. Kuuma ndũrĩrĩ-inĩ ciothe cia thĩ, Jehova nĩamũthuurĩte mũtuĩke andũ ake a bata.
For a holy people art thou unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath made choice of thee to be unto himself a peculiar nation above all the nations that are upon the face of the earth.
3 Mũtikanarĩe kĩndũ o nakĩ kĩrĩ thaahu.
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
4 Ici nĩcio nyamũ iria mwagĩrĩirwo kũrĩa: nĩ ndegwa, na ngʼondu, na mbũri,
These are the beasts which ye may eat: The ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 na thwariga, na thiiya, na thwara, na mbũri ya werũ, na ndoo, na ngondi, o na ngʼondu cia irĩma-inĩ.
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow-deer, and the chamois, and the gazelle, and the wild ox, and the antelope.
6 No mũrĩe nyamũ o yothe ĩrĩ mahũngũ maatũku na makarekania na nĩĩcookagia ithagumia.
And every beast that hath parted hoofs, and whose feet are cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts—that alone may ye eat.
7 No rĩrĩ, harĩ nyamũ iria ĩcookagia ithagumia kana irĩ mahũngũ maatũku marekanĩtie biũ, mũtikanarĩe ngamĩĩra, kana mbũkũ, kana ikami. O na gũtuĩka nĩicookagia ithagumia, mahũngũ ma cio ti maatũku, icio irĩ thaahu harĩ inyuĩ.
Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of those that chew the cud, and of those that possess the divided cloven hoof: The camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; unclean are they unto you;
8 Nayo ngũrwe, o na akorwo mahũngũ mayo nĩmarekanĩtie biũ-rĩ, ndĩcookagia ithagumia; ĩyo ĩrĩ thaahu harĩ inyuĩ. Mũtikanarĩe nyama ciacio kana mũhutie ciimba ciacio.
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you; of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their dead carcass shall ye not touch.
9 Thĩinĩ wa nyamũ ciothe iria itũũraga maaĩ-inĩ, no mũrĩĩage ĩrĩa yothe ĩrĩ mathagu manyiitaine na ĩrĩ ngaracũ mwĩrĩ.
This may ye eat of all that is in the waters: all that hath fins and scales may ye eat;
10 No ĩrĩa yothe ĩtarĩ tũthagu na ngaracũ, mũtikanamĩrĩe; nĩgũkorwo ĩrĩ thaahu harĩ inyuĩ.
And whatsoever hath not fins and scales shall ye not eat; it is unclean unto you.
11 No mũrĩe nyoni o yothe ĩrĩa ĩtarĩ thaahu.
Every clean bird may ye eat.
12 No ici mũtikanarĩe: nderi, na ndiyũ, na ndiyũ iria njirũ,
But these are they which ye shall not eat of them: The eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,
13 na hũngũ ĩrĩa ndune na mũthemba o wothe wa hũngũ iria njirũ,
And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
14 na mũthemba o wothe wa mahuru
And every raven after his kind,

And the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after his kind,
16 na gatundu karĩa kanini, na ndundu ĩrĩa nene, o na ndundu ĩrĩa njerũ,
The little owl, and the great owl and the swan,

19 Tũnyamũ tuothe tũrĩa tũrĩ mathagu tũmbũkaga tũrĩ gĩtutu tũrĩ thaahu harĩ inyuĩ, mũtikanatũrĩe.
And every winged insect is unclean unto you: it shall not be eaten.
20 No nyamũ yothe ĩrĩ mathagu na ndĩrĩ thaahu no mũmĩrĩe.
All clean fowls may ye eat.
21 Mũtikanarĩe kĩndũ o na kĩrĩkũ kĩrĩa mũgaakora gĩkuĩte. No mũkĩhe mũndũ wa kũngĩ ũrĩa ũtũũraga itũũra-inĩ o rĩothe rĩa matũũra manyu, nake no akĩrĩe, kana ũkĩenderie mũrũrĩrĩ. No inyuĩ mũrĩ andũ maamũrĩirwo Jehova Ngai wanyu. Mũtikanaruge koori na iria rĩa nyina.
Ye shall not eat any thing that dieth of itself: unto the stranger that is in thy gates canst thou give it, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien; for thou art a holy people unto the Lord thy God; thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.
22 Menyererai mũrutage gĩcunjĩ gĩa ikũmi kĩa maciaro mothe ma mĩgũnda yanyu mwaka o mwaka.
Thou shalt truly tithe all the produce of thy seed, which the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 Rĩagĩrai gĩcunjĩ gĩa ikũmi kĩa ngano yanyu, na ndibei yanyu ya mũhihano, na maguta manyu, na marigithathi manyu ma ndũũru cianyu cia ngʼombe na cia mbũri mbere ya Jehova Ngai wanyu mũrĩ handũ harĩa agaathuura ha gũtũũria Rĩĩtwa rĩake, nĩgeetha mwĩrute gwĩtigĩra Jehova Ngai wanyu hĩndĩ ciothe.
And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he will choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thy oil, and the first-born of thy herds and of thy flocks; in order that thou may learn to fear the Lord thy God all the days.
24 No rĩrĩ, handũ hau hangĩkorwo nĩ haraihu mũno, na Jehova Ngai wanyu nĩamũrathimĩte na mũtingĩhota gũkuua gĩcunjĩ kĩanyu gĩa ikũmi mũtware handũ hau (nĩ ũndũ handũ hau Jehova agaathuura ha gũtũũria Rĩĩtwa rĩake nĩhamũraihĩrĩirie mũno-rĩ),
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; because the place is too far from thee, which the Lord thy God will choose to set his name there, because the Lord thy God will bless thee:
25 hĩndĩ ĩyo mũgaakũũrania gĩcunjĩ kĩanyu gĩa ikũmi na betha, na inyuĩ mũtware betha ĩyo handũ harĩa Jehova Ngai wanyu agaathuura.
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and thou shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God will choose;
26 Hũthĩrai betha ĩyo na kũgũra kĩrĩa gĩothe mũngĩenda: ngʼombe, kana ngʼondu, kana ndibei o na kana kĩndũ kĩgagatie gĩa kũnyua, kana o kĩndũ gĩothe kĩrĩa mũngĩenda. Ningĩ inyuĩ na andũ a nyũmba cianyu mũkaarĩĩra indo icio o hau mbere ya Jehova Ngai wanyu mũkenete.
And thou shalt lay out that money for whatsoever thy soul longeth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat it there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thy household.
27 Na mũtikanarekererie Alawii arĩa matũũraga matũũra-inĩ manyu, nĩgũkorwo matirĩ gĩthaka kana igai rĩao ene.
And the Levite, who is within thy gates, him shalt thou not forsake; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.
28 Na rĩrĩ, o mĩaka ĩtatũ yathira, mũrutage icunjĩ cia ikũmi cia uumithio wanyu wothe wa mwaka ũcio, mũgaaciga kũu matũũra-inĩ manyu,
At the end of three years shalt thou bring forth all the tithe of thy produce in the same year, and thou shalt lay it down within thy gates:
29 nĩgeetha Alawii (arĩa matarĩ agaĩre gĩthaka kana igai rĩao ene), na andũ a kũngĩ, na ciana cia ngoriai, na atumia a ndigwa arĩa matũũraga matũũra-inĩ manyu, magookaga makarĩa na makahũũna, nĩguo Jehova Ngai wanyu amũrathimage wĩra-inĩ wothe wa moko manyu.
And then shall come the Levite, because he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee, with the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, and they shall eat and be satisfied; in order that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.
