In [his] eighteenth year Nabuchodonosor the king made a golden image, its height was sixty cubits, its breadth six cubits: and he set it up in the plain of Deira, in the province of Babylon.
2 Nebukadinezaru agĩcooka agĩĩta anene, na anyabara, na abarũthi, na ataari a mũthamaki, na aigi kĩgĩĩna, na aciirithania, na mawakiri, na anene a mabũrũri make mothe moke kĩamũro-inĩ gĩa kwamũra mũhianano ũcio aahandithĩtie.
And he sent forth to gather the governors, and the captains, and the heads of provinces, chiefs, and princes, and those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, to come to the dedication of the image.
3 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, anene, na anyabara, na abarũthi, na ataari a mũthamaki, na aigi kĩgĩĩna, na aciirithania, na mawakiri, na anene othe a mabũrũri makĩgomana nĩ ũndũ wa kwamũra mũhianano ũcio Mũthamaki Nebukadinezaru aahaandithĩtie, nao makĩrũgama mbere yaguo.
So the heads of provinces, the governors, the captains, the chiefs, the great princes, those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, were gathered to the dedication of the image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up; and they stood before the image.
4 Nake mũhuhi coro akĩanĩrĩra na mũgambo mũnene, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ andũ a iruka ciothe na a ndũrĩrĩ ciothe, na a mĩario yothe ta thikĩrĩriai ũrĩa mũthamaki aathanĩte mwĩke.
Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, ye peoples, tribes, [and] languages,
at what hour ye shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and every kind of music, ye shall fall down and worship the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor has set up.
6 Mũndũ ũrĩa wothe ũtekwĩgũithia thĩ na ahooe, o hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩegũikio icua-inĩ rĩa mwaki ũgwakana mũno.”
And whosoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour he shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.
And it came to pass when the nations heard the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the nations, tribes, [and] languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up.
8 Ihinda o rĩu arori a njata amwe makĩyumĩria, magĩcuuka Ayahudi,
Then came near [certain] Chaldeans, and accused the Jews to the king, [saying],
9 makĩĩra Mũthamaki Nebukadinezaru atĩrĩ, “Wee mũthamaki ũrotũũra tene na tene!
O king, live for ever.
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, sackbut, and psaltery, and all kinds of music,
11 na ũkoiga atĩ mũndũ ũrĩa wothe ũtekwĩgũithia thĩ aũhooe, nĩagaikio icua-inĩ rĩa mwaki ũgwakana mũno.
and shall not fall down and worship the golden image, shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.
12 No rĩrĩ, nĩ harĩ Ayahudi amwe arĩa wee ũigĩte a kũrora maũndũ ma bũrũri wa Babuloni, na nĩo Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego, arĩa matakũiguaga, wee mũthamaki. Matitungatagĩra ngai ciaku, kana makahooya mũhianano wa thahabu ũcio ũhandithĩtie.”
There are [certain] Jews whom thou hast appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, who have not obeyed thy decree, O king: they serve not thy gods, and worship not the golden image which thou hast set up.
13 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Nebukadinezaru agĩcinwo nĩ marakara, nake agĩtũmanĩra Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego mareehwo harĩ we. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ acio makĩreehwo mbere ya mũthamaki,
Then Nabuchodonosor in wrath and anger commanded to bring Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and they were brought before the king.
And Nabuchodonosor answered and said to them, Is it true, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, that ye serve not my gods, and worship not the golden image which I have set up?
No rĩrĩ, mũngĩrega kũhooya mũhianano ũcio-rĩ, nĩmũgũikio o ro rĩmwe icua-inĩ rĩa mwaki ũgwakana mũno. Na rĩrĩ, hihi nĩ ngai ĩrĩkũ ĩngĩhota kũmũhonokia kuuma guoko-inĩ gwakwa?”
Now then if ye be ready, whensoever ye shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and harmony, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the golden image which I have made; [well]: but if ye worship not, in the same hour ye shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?
16 Nao Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego magĩcookeria mũthamaki, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wee Nebukadinezaru, ithuĩ tũtibataire kwĩyarĩrĩria tũrĩ mbere yaku igũrũ rĩa ũhoro ũyũ.
Then answered Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, and said to king Nabuchodonosor, We have no need to answer thee concerning this matter.
17 Tũngĩikio icua-inĩ rĩa mwaki ũgwakana mũno-rĩ, Ngai ũrĩa ithuĩ tũtungataga e na ũhoti wa gũtũruta thĩinĩ warĩo, na nĩwe ũgũtũhonokia kuuma guoko-inĩ gwaku, wee mũthamaki.
For our God whom we serve is in the heavens, able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will rescue us from thy hands, O king.
18 No rĩrĩ, o na angĩaga gũtũhonokia-rĩ, nĩtũkwenda ũmenye, wee mũthamaki, atĩ ithuĩ tũtingĩtungatĩra ngai ciaku, kana tũhooe mũhianano wa thahabu ũcio wee ũhandithĩtie.”
But if not, be it known to thee, O king, that we [will] not serve thy gods, nor worship the image which thou hast set up.
Then Nabuchodonosor was filled with wrath, and the form of his countenance was changed toward Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times [more than usual], until it should burn to the uttermost.
20 Nebukadinezaru agĩatha thigari imwe iria ciarĩ na hinya mũno ita-inĩ rĩake ciohe Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego, imaikie icua-inĩ rĩu rĩa mwaki wakanĩte mũno.
And he commanded mighty men to bind Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ acio, mehumbĩte kanjũ ciao, na thuruarĩ, na iremba, o na nguo icio ingĩ-rĩ, makĩohwo na magĩikio icua-inĩ rĩu rĩa mwaki wakanĩte mũno.
Then those men were bound with their coats, and caps, and hose, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace,
22 Watho ũcio wa mũthamaki warĩ wa ihenya mũno, narĩo icua rĩkahiũha mũno, ũũ atĩ nĩnĩmbĩ cia mwaki ũcio cioragire thigari iria cianyiitĩte Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego,
forasmuch as the king’s word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceeding hot.
23 nao andũ acio atatũ, moohetwo makarũmio, makĩgũa icua-inĩ rĩu rĩa mwaki wakanĩte mũno.
Then these three men, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praise to God, and blessing the Lord.
24 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Mũthamaki Nebukadinezaru akĩgega, akĩrũgama na igũrũ o rĩmwe, akĩũria andũ arĩa maamũheaga kĩrĩra atĩrĩ, “Githĩ ti andũ atatũ tuohire na twamaikia mwaki-inĩ?” Nao makĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ, nĩ ma ũguo nĩguo, mũthamaki.”
And Nabuchodonosor heard them singing praises; and he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? and they said to the king, Yes, O king.
25 Nake mũthamaki akiuga atĩrĩ, “Hĩ, ta rorai! Niĩ ndĩrona andũ ana magĩcangacanga mwaki-inĩ, matarĩ ohe kana makahutio nĩ mwaki, nake ũcio wa kana ahaana ta ũmwe wa ariũ a ngai.”
And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26 Nebukadinezaru agĩkuhĩrĩria mũromo-inĩ wa icua rĩu rĩakanaga mwaki, akĩanĩrĩra, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego, inyuĩ ndungata cia Ngai-Ũrĩa-ũrĩ Igũrũ-Mũno, umĩrai, mũũke haha!” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Shadiraka, na Meshaki, na Abedinego makiumĩra mwaki-inĩ ũcio,
Then Nabuchodonosor drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, proceed forth, and come hither. So Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, came forth out of the midst of the fire.
27 nao anene, na anyabara, na abarũthi, na arĩa maataaraga mũthamaki othe makĩmarigiicĩria, makĩĩonera atĩ mwaki ndwamekĩte ũũru mĩĩrĩ yao, kana rũcuĩrĩ rwa mĩtwe yao rũkahĩa, o na nguo iria mehumbĩte itiahĩte, na matianungaga mwaki o na atĩa.
Then were assembled the satraps, and captains, and heads of provinces, and the royal princes; and they saw the men, [and perceived] that the fire had not had power against their bodies, and the hair of their head was not burnt, and their coats were not scorched, nor was the smell of fire upon them.
And king Nabuchodonosor answered and said, Blessed be the God of Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants, because they trusted in him; and they have changed the king’s word, and delivered their bodies to be burnt, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
Wherefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, [or] language, that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered: because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus.
Then the king promoted Sedrach, Misach, [and] Abdenago, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom.
