1 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ: “Nĩ ũndũ wa mehia matatũ ma Moabi, o na mana-rĩ, niĩ ndikahũndũra mangʼũrĩ makwa. Tondũ nĩacinire mahĩndĩ ma mũthamaki wa Edomu, magĩtuĩka ta coka,
The Lord says: For Moab’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have burned to lime the bones of the king of Edom,
2 nĩngaitĩrĩria Moabi mwaki ũrĩa ũgaacina ciĩhitho iria nũmu cia Keriothu. Moabi nĩakagũa thĩ na mũrurumo mũnene, gatagatĩ-inĩ ka mbugĩrĩrio ya mbaara, na kũhuhwo kwa mũgambo wa karumbeta.
to desecrate the dead. So I will send a fire into Moab. It will devour the palaces of Kirioth, with a war-cry, with the sound of trumpets.
3 Nĩngananga mwathi wakuo, na njũrage anene ake othe hamwe nake,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
I will kill the ruler, all his nobles I will slay with him, says the Lord.
4 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ: “Nĩ ũndũ wa mehia matatũ ma Juda, o na mana-rĩ, niĩ ndikahũndũra mangʼũrĩ makwa. Tondũ nĩmaregete watho wa Jehova, na makaaga kũrũmia irĩra ciake cia watho wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo, tondũ nĩmahĩtithĩtio nĩ ngai cia maheeni, ngai iria maithe mao ma tene maarũmagĩrĩra.
The Lord says: For Judah’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have rejected the law of the Lord and have not kept his statutes. Instead their false gods their ancestors followed, have led them astray.
5 Nĩngaitĩrĩria Juda mwaki ũrĩa ũgaacina ciĩhitho iria nũmu cia Jerusalemu.”
So I will send a fire on Judah. It will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
6 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ; “Nĩ ũndũ wa mehia matatũ ma Isiraeli, o na mana-rĩ, niĩ ndikahũndũra mangʼũrĩ makwa. Mendagia andũ arĩa athingu betha, na arĩa abatari-rĩ, makamendia nyamũga igĩrĩ.
The Lord says: For Israel’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They sell the righteous for money, the needy for a pair of shoes.
7 Marangagĩrĩria mĩtwe ya arĩa athĩĩni taarĩ rũkũngũ rwa thĩ, na makaagithia kĩhooto arĩa ahinyĩrĩrie. Mũndũ na ithe makomaga na mũirĩtu ũmwe, nĩ ũndũ ũcio magathaahia rĩĩtwa rĩakwa itheru.
They trample on the head of the poor, push the humble out of the way. Father and son go to the same temple girl, and so profane my holy name.
8 Makomaga harĩa hothe harĩ na kĩgongona, magakomera nguo iria irutĩtwo irũgamĩrĩre thiirĩ. Kũu thĩinĩ wa nyũmba ya ngai yao, nĩkuo manyuuagĩra ndibei ĩrĩa ĩrutĩtwo ya ndooco.
They stretch themselves on garments taken in pledges beside every altar, and they drink the wine of those who have been fined in the house of their God.
9 “Nĩndanangire Aamori mehere mbere yao, o na gũtuĩka maarĩ araihu ta mĩtĩ ya mĩtarakwa, na marĩ na hinya ta mĩtĩ ya mĩgandi. Nĩndanangire matunda make kuuma na igũrũ, na ngĩananga mĩri yake kuuma na thĩ.
It was I who destroyed the Amorites for your sake, whose height was like that of the cedars, as strong as oaks. I destroyed their fruit from above and their roots from below.
10 “Ndakwambatirie ngĩkũruta bũrũri wa Misiri, na ngĩgũtongoria mĩaka mĩrongo ĩna kũu werũ-inĩ, nĩguo ngũhe bũrũri wa Aamori.
It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, led you forty years in the wilderness, brought you here to possess the land of the Amorites.
11 Ningĩ nĩndarahũrire anabii kuuma kũrĩ ariũ aku, na ngĩarahũra Anaziri kuuma kũrĩ aanake aku. Githĩ ũcio ti ũhoro wa ma, inyuĩ andũ a Isiraeli?” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
I raised up some of your sons to be prophets some of your youths to be Nazirites. Is not this indeed so, Israelites? says the Lord.
12 “No inyuĩ nĩmwaheire Anaziri ndibei manyue, na mũgĩatha anabii matikanarathe ũndũ.
But you made the Nazirites drink wine and banned the prophets from prophesying.
13 “Na rĩrĩ, niĩ nĩngamũhehenja o ta ũrĩa ngaari ĩiyũrĩte ngano ĩhehenjaga.
Listen! It is I who will make you groan in your places, as a wagon groans under its load of grain.
14 Mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ ihenya ndakahota kwĩhonokia. Ũrĩa ũrĩ hinya ndagateithio nĩ hinya ũcio wake, nayo njamba ya ita ndĩkahonokia muoyo wayo.
Then flight will fail the swift, and the strength of the strongest will be useless. The warrior will not save his life,
15 Mũrathi na mĩguĩ ndakeyũmĩrĩria, na mũthigari ũrĩa ũhiũkaga ndakahota kũũra, na ũrĩa ũhaicĩte mbarathi ndakahonokia muoyo wake.
the archer will not stand firm, the swift of foot will not escape, the horseman will not save his life.
16 O nacio njamba cia ita iria nyũmĩrĩru mũno, ikoora irĩ njaga mũthenya ũcio,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
The bravest of warriors will flee away naked in that day, says the Lord.
