1 Mũthenya ũmwe Petero na Johana nĩmambatire magĩthiĩ hekarũ-inĩ ihinda rĩa mahooya, na kwarĩ thaa kenda cia mũthenya.
One day Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the hour of prayer--the ninth hour--and, just then,
2 Na rĩrĩ, mũndũ waciarĩtwo arĩ mwonju nĩakuuagwo agatwarwo kĩhingo-inĩ kĩa hekarũ kĩrĩa gĩetagwo Gĩthaka, akaigwo ho o mũthenya nĩguo ahooe mbeeca kũrĩ andũ arĩa maatoonyaga hekarũ.
some men were carrying there one who had been lame from birth, whom they were wont to place every day close to the Beautiful Gate (as it was called) of the Temple, for him to beg from the people as they went in.
3 Na rĩrĩa onire Petero na Johana marĩ hakuhĩ gũtoonya-rĩ, akĩmahooya mbeeca.
Seeing Peter and John about to go into the Temple, he asked them for alms.
4 Nao Petero na Johana makĩmũkũũrĩra maitho. Hĩndĩ ĩyo Petero akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ta tũrore!”
Peter fixing his eyes on him, as John did also, said, "Look at us."
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio mũndũ ũcio akĩmarora, erĩgĩrĩire atĩ nĩmekũmũhe kĩndũ.
So he looked and waited, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Petero agĩcooka akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Betha na thahabu ndirĩ nacio, no kĩrĩa ndĩ nakĩo nĩkĩo ngũkũhe. Thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jesũ Kristũ wa Nazarethi, ũkĩra wĩtware.”
"I have no silver or gold," Peter said, "but what I have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene-- walk!"
7 Akĩmũnyiita guoko gwake kwa ũrĩo, akĩmũrũgamia na igũrũ, na o hĩndĩ ĩyo magũrũ na thũngʼwa cia mũndũ ũcio ikĩgĩa na hinya.
Then taking his hand Peter lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were strengthened.
8 Nake akĩrũga na igũrũ, akĩambĩrĩria gwĩtwara. Agĩcooka agĩthiĩ nao hekarũ-inĩ, etwarĩte na magũrũ, akĩrũgarũgaga na akĩgoocaga Ngai.
Leaping up, he stood upright and began to walk, and went into the Temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.
9 Rĩrĩa andũ othe monire agĩĩtwara na magũrũ akĩgoocaga Ngai,
All the people saw him walking and praising God;
10 makĩmenya atĩ nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa watũũraga aikarĩte kĩhingo-inĩ kĩa hekarũ kĩrĩa gĩetagwo Gĩthaka akĩhooya mbeeca. Nao makĩgega mamakĩte nĩkuona ũrĩa kwahanĩkĩte harĩ mũndũ ũcio.
and recognizing him as the man who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple asking for alms, they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 Mũndũ ũcio watũũrĩte ahooyaga mbeeca-rĩ, o enyiitĩrĩire Petero na Johana, andũ othe makĩgega na magĩũka matengʼerete nginya hau maarĩ, naho heetagwo Gĩthaku gĩa Solomoni.
While he still clung to Peter and John, the people, awe-struck, ran up crowding round them in what was known as Solomon's Portico.
12 Rĩrĩa Petero onire ũguo, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Andũ aya a Isiraeli, ũndũ ũyũ ũramũgegia nĩkĩ? Mũratũrora atĩa taarĩ hinya witũ kana ũthingu witũ watũma mũndũ ũyũ etware na magũrũ?
Peter, seeing this, spoke to the people. "Israelites," he said, "why do you wonder at this man? Or why gaze at us, as though by any power or piety of our own we had enabled him to walk?
13 Ngai wa Iburahĩmu, na Isaaka na Jakubu, o we Ngai wa maithe maitũ, nĩagoocithĩtie ndungata yake Jesũ. Inyuĩ nĩmwamũneanire ooragwo, na mũkĩmũkaana mbere ya Pilato, o na gũtuĩka nĩatuĩte itua rĩa kũmũrekereria.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has conferred this honour on His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let Him go.
14 Mwakaanire Ũrĩa Mũtheru na Mũthingu mũkiuga muohorerwo mũũragani.
Yes, you disowned the holy and righteous One, and asked as a favour the release of a murderer.
15 Mworagire ũrĩa mũheani wa muoyo, no Ngai nĩamũriũkirie kuuma kũrĩ arĩa akuũ. Ithuĩ tũrĩ aira a ũhoro ũcio.
The Prince of Life you put to death; but God has raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses as to that.
16 Nĩ ũndũ wa wĩtĩkio thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jesũ, mũndũ ũyũ mũrona na mũũĩ, nĩagĩĩte na hinya. Nĩ rĩĩtwa rĩa Jesũ na wĩtĩkio ũrĩa uumanaga nake watũma mũndũ ũyũ ahone o ta ũrĩa inyuothe mũreyonera.
It is His name-- faith in that name being the condition--which has strengthened this man whom you behold and know; and the faith which He has given has made this man sound and strong again, as you can all see.
17 “Na rĩrĩ, ariũ a Ithe witũ, nĩnjũũĩ atĩ mwekire ũguo nĩ ũndũ wa kũrigwo, o ta ũrĩa atongoria anyu o nao meekire.
"And now, brethren, I know that it was in ignorance that you did it, as was the case with your rulers also.
18 No rĩrĩ, ũguo nĩguo Ngai aahingirie ũrĩa aarĩtie o mbere na tũnua twa anabii othe, akiuga atĩ Kristũ wake nĩakanyariirĩka.
But in this way God has fulfilled the declarations He made through all the Prophets, that His Christ would suffer.
19 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio mwĩrirei na mũgarũrũke kũrĩ Ngai, nĩgeetha mehia manyu meherio, nĩguo mũgĩe na mahinda ma kũrurumũkio moimĩte kũrĩ Mwathani, na
Repent, therefore, and reform your lives, so that the record of your sins may be cancelled, and that there may come seasons of revival from the Lord,
20 nĩguo atũme Kristũ, o we ũrĩa wamũrĩtwo nĩ ũndũ wanyu, nake nĩwe Jesũ.
and that He may send the Christ appointed beforehand for you--even Jesus.
21 We no nginya aikare igũrũ o nginya ihinda rĩkinye rĩa Ngai rĩa gũcookereria maũndũ mothe, o ta ũrĩa eranĩire o tene na tũnua twa anabii aake atheru. (aiōn )
Heaven must receive Him until those times of which God has spoken from the earliest ages through the lips of His holy Prophets--the times of the reconstitution of all things. (aiōn )
22 Nĩgũkorwo Musa oigire atĩrĩ, ‘Mwathani Ngai wanyu nĩakamwarahũrĩra mũnabii o ta niĩ kuuma kũrĩ andũ anyu. Na no nginya mũgaathikĩrĩria ũrĩa wothe akaamwĩra.
Moses declared, "'The Lord your God will raise up a Prophet for you from among your brethren as He has raised me. In all that He says to you, you must listen to Him.
23 Na rĩrĩ, mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũtakamũthikĩrĩria, nĩakeherio biũ kuuma kũrĩ andũ ao.’
And every one, without exception, who refuses to listen to that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the People.'
24 “Ti-itherũ, anabii othe kuuma hĩndĩ ya Samũeli, arĩa manaaria, nĩ maaririe ũhoro wa matukũ maya.
Yes, and all the Prophets, from Samuel onwards--all who have spoken--have also announced the coming of this present time.
25 Na inyuĩ mũrĩ ariũ a anabii, na a kĩrĩkanĩro kĩrĩa Ngai aarĩkanĩire na maithe manyu. Eerire Iburahĩmu atĩrĩ, ‘Na nĩ ũndũ wa rũciaro rwaku, andũ othe a thĩ nĩmakarathimwo.’
"You are the heirs of the Prophets, and of the Covenant which God made with your forefathers when He said to Abraham, 'And through your posterity all the families of the world shall be blessed.'
26 Rĩrĩa Ngai aariũkirie ndungata yake, aambire kũmĩtũma kũrĩ inyuĩ nĩgeetha amũrathime na ũndũ wa kũgarũra o ũmwe wanyu kuuma kũrĩ mĩtũũrĩre yanyu ya waganu.”
It is to you first that God, after raising His Servant from the grave, has sent Him to bless you, by causing every one of you to turn from your wickedness."
