Atũmwo 16
1 Na rĩrĩ, Paũlũ agĩkinya Deribe agĩcooka akiuma kuo agĩthiĩ Lisitera, kũrĩa mũrutwo wetagwo Timotheo aatũũraga, ũrĩa nyina aarĩ Mũyahudi mũtumia wetĩkĩtie Ngai, no ithe aarĩ Mũyunani.
He came then (both *no*) to Derbe and (to *no*) Lystra. And behold a disciple certain was there, named Timothy, [the] son of a woman (certain *k*) Jewish believing, father however a Greek;
2 Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ a kũu Lisitera na Ikonia nĩmaragia wega igũrũ rĩake.
who was well spoken of by the in Lystra and Iconium brothers.
3 Paũlũ nĩendaga mathiĩ nake rũgendo, no nĩ tondũ wa Ayahudi arĩa maatũũraga kũu, akĩmũruithia nĩgũkorwo nĩmooĩ atĩ ithe aarĩ Mũyunani.
This one wanted Paul with him to go forth, and having taken he circumcised him on account of the Jews those being in the parts those; they knew for all that a Greek (the father *N(k)O*) of him was.
4 Na rĩrĩa maathiiaga kuuma itũũra nginya rĩrĩa rĩngĩ, nĩmeeraga andũ matua marĩa maatuĩtwo nĩ atũmwo na athuuri kũu Jerusalemu nĩguo andũ mamaathĩkagĩre.
While then they were passing through the cities, they were delivering to them to keep the decrees which [were] decided on by the apostles and (of the *k*) elders who [were] in Jerusalem.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makanitha makĩgĩa na hinya ũhoro-inĩ wa gwĩtĩkia na makongererekaga mũigana o mũthenya.
The indeed therefore churches were strengthened in the faith and were increasing in number every day.
6 Paũlũ na andũ arĩa maarĩ nao magĩtuĩkanĩria bũrũri wothe wa Firigia na Galatia, nĩgũkorwo nĩmagirĩtio nĩ Roho Mũtheru kũhunjia kiugo kũu bũrũri wa Asia.
(they passed through *N(k)O*) then Phrygia and (the *k*) Galatian region having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia,
7 Rĩrĩa maakinyire mũhaka-inĩ wa Misia, makĩgeria gũtoonya Bithinia, no Roho wa Jesũ ndaigana kũmetĩkĩria gũtoonya.
having come (then *no*) down to Mysia they were attempting (into *N(k)O*) Bithynia (to go, *N(k)O*) and not did allow them the Spirit (of Jesus. *NO*)
8 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩhĩtũka Misia, magĩikũrũka magĩkinya Teroa.
having passed by then Mysia they came down to Troas.
9 Ũtukũ ũcio-rĩ, Paũlũ akĩona kĩoneki kĩa mũndũ wa Makedonia arũgamĩte akĩmũthaitha, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũka gũkũ Makedonia ũtũteithie.”
And a vision during the night to Paul appeared: A man of Macedonia certain was already standing (and *no*) beseeching him and saying; Having passed over into Macedonia do help us.
10 Paũlũ aarĩkia kuona kĩoneki kĩu, tũkĩĩhaarĩria o hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩgeetha tũthiĩ Makedonia, tũgĩtua atĩ Ngai nĩatwĩtĩte tũkamahunjĩrie Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega.
When now the vision he had seen, immediately we sought to go forth to (*k*) Macedonia concluding that he has called us (God *N(K)O*) to evangelise to them.
11 Twaarĩkia kuuma Teroa, tũgĩthiĩ na marikabu twerekeire Samotherake, na mũthenya ũyũ ũngĩ tũgĩthiĩ Neapoli.
Having sailed (then *N(K)O*) from (*k*) Troas we made a straight course to Samothrace, (and *N(k)O*) the following day to Nea Polis,
12 Kuuma kũu tũgĩthiĩ Filipi, kũrĩa gwathagwo nĩ andũ a Roma, na nĩrĩo rĩarĩ itũũra rĩrĩa inene rĩa bũrũri ũcio wa Makedonia. Na tũgĩikara kũu mĩthenya ĩtaarĩ mĩingĩ.
(and from there and from there *N(k)O*) to Philippi, which is ([the] leading [city] *N(k)O*) (of the *ko*) district (*NK*) of Macedonia [the] city, [and Roman] colony. We were now in (this *NK(o)*) city staying days some.
13 Mũthenya wa Thabatũ wakinya tũkiuma nja ya kĩhingo gĩa itũũra, tũgĩthiĩ rũũĩ-inĩ, tũtaanyĩte kuona handũ ha kũhooerwo Ngai. Tũgĩikara thĩ na tũkĩambĩrĩria kwarĩria andũ-a-nja arĩa monganĩte hau.
On the then day of the Sabbaths we went forth outside the (gate *N(K)O*) by a river where (we were accustomed *N(K)O*) (prayer *N(k)O*) to have, And having sat down we were speaking to those having gathered women.
14 Na rĩrĩ, ũmwe wa andũ-a-nja acio maathikĩrĩirie eetagwo Lidia, ũrĩa warĩ mwonjoria wa nguo cia rangi wa ndathi, na oimĩte itũũra rĩa Thuatira, na aarĩ mũhooi Ngai. Nake Mwathani akĩhingũra ngoro yake, akĩamũkĩra ndũmĩrĩri ya Paũlũ.
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple of [the] city of Thyatira worshiping God, was listening of whom the Lord opened the heart to attend to the [things] being spoken by Paul.
15 Rĩrĩa we na andũ a nyũmba yake maabatithirio-rĩ, nĩatũnyiitire ũgeni gwake mũciĩ agĩtwĩra atĩrĩ, “Angĩkorwo nĩmuonete atĩ nĩnjĩtĩkĩtie Mwathani-rĩ, ũkai mũgaikare nyũmba gwakwa.” Nake agĩtũringĩrĩria tũthiĩ.
When then she was baptized and the house of her, she begged saying; If you have judged me faithful to the Lord to be, having entered into the house of mine (do remain; *N(k)O*) And she persuaded us.
16 Hĩndĩ ĩmwe tũgĩthiĩ harĩa haahooyagĩrwo Ngai, nĩtwatũngirwo nĩ mũirĩtu warĩ ngombo na nĩarĩ na roho wa kũragũra. Nake nĩatũmaga ene we meonere mbeeca nyingĩ mũno nĩ ũndũ wa ũragũri wake
It happened now going of us to (the *no*) [place of] prayer, a girl certain having a spirit (Python meeting by *N(k)O*) us, who gain much was bringing the masters of her by fortune-telling.
17 Mũirĩtu ũcio akĩrũmĩrĩra Paũlũ hamwe na ithuĩ, akĩanagĩrĩra atĩrĩ, “Andũ aya nĩ ndungata cia Ngai-Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno, na maramũhe ũhoro wa njĩra ya ũrĩa mũngĩhonokio.”
She (having followed *N(k)O*) after Paul and us was crying out saying; These men servants of the God Most High are, who proclaim (to you *N(K)O*) [the] way of salvation.
18 Mũirĩtu ũcio agĩthiĩ na mbere na gwĩka ũguo mĩthenya mĩingĩ. Marigĩrĩrio-inĩ Paũlũ agĩthirĩka mũno nginya akĩhũgũkĩra roho ũcio akĩwĩĩra atĩrĩ, “Ndagwatha thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jesũ Kristũ uume thĩinĩ wake!” O hĩndĩ ĩyo roho ũcio ũkĩmuuma.
This then she was continuing for many days. Having been distressed then (*k*) Paul and having turned to the spirit he said; I command you in (the *k*) name of Jesus Christ to come out from her. And it came out on [the] same hour.
19 Rĩrĩa ene mũirĩtu ũcio ngombo maamenyire atĩ mwĩhoko wao wa kuona mbeeca nĩwathira, makĩnyiita Paũlũ na Sila makĩmaguucũrũria makĩmatoonyia ndũnyũ mbere ya aathani.
Having seen now the masters of her that was gone the hope of the profit of them, having taken hold of Paul and Silas they dragged [them] into the marketplace before the rulers,
20 Makĩmarehe mbere ya aciirithania, makiuga atĩrĩ, “Andũ aya nĩ Ayahudi, na nĩmararehe ngũĩ itũũra-inĩ riitũ
and having brought up them to the magistrates they said; These men exceedingly trouble of us the city Jews being;
21 nĩ ũndũ wa kũrutana mĩtugo ĩrĩa ithuĩ andũ a Roma tũtagĩrĩirwo nĩ gwĩtĩkĩra o na kana kũmĩĩka.”
and preach customs that not it is lawful for us to accept nor to practice Romans being.
22 Nakĩo kĩrĩndĩ gĩgĩũkĩrĩra Paũlũ na Sila kĩmeeke ũũru no aciirithania makĩruta watho atĩ marutwo nguo na mahũũrwo iboko.
And rose up together the crowd against them, and the magistrates having torn off of them the garments were commanding to beat with rods;
23 Thuutha wa kũhũũrwo mũno magĩikio njeera, na mũrangĩri wa njeera agĩathwo amarangĩre wega.
Many (then *NK(o)*) having laid on them blows they cast [them] into prison having charged the to jailer strictly to keep them;
24 Aarĩkia kwamũkĩra watho ũcio, akĩmaikia kanyũmba ka na thĩinĩ na akĩohithania magũrũ mao na ndungu.
who an order such (having received *N(k)O*) threw them into the inner prison and the feet fastened of them in the stocks.
25 Na rĩrĩ, ta ũtukũ gatagatĩ, Paũlũ na Sila nĩkũhooya maahooyaga makĩinagĩra Ngai nyĩmbo, nao andũ arĩa angĩ mohetwo makamathikĩrĩria.
Toward now midnight Paul and Silas praying they were singing praises to God; Were listening now to them the prisoners.
26 Na o rĩmwe gũkĩgĩa gĩthingithia kĩnene o nginya mĩthingi ya njeera ĩgĩthingitha. Nayo mĩrango yothe ya njeera ikĩhingũka o rĩmwe, na mĩnyororo ya mũndũ o mũndũ ĩkĩregera.
Suddenly then earthquake there was a great so that shaking the foundations of the prison house; were opened (then *N(k)O*) immediately the doors all, and of all the chains were loosed.
27 Mũrangĩri wa njeera akĩarahũka, na rĩrĩa aarorire akĩona mĩrango ya njeera ĩrĩ mĩhingũku, akĩruta rũhiũ rwake rwa njora akĩenda kwĩyũraga tondũ eeciiririe atĩ andũ arĩa moohetwo nĩmoorĩte.
Awoken then having been the jailer and was seeing having opened the doors of the prison, having drawn (*no*) [his] sword he was about himself to execute supposing to have escaped the prisoners.
28 No Paũlũ akĩanĩrĩra, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ndũkeegere ngero! Ithuothe tũrĩ ho!”
Called out however in a loud voice Paul saying; Not may do to yourself harm; all for we are here.
29 Nake mũrangĩri ũcio wa njeera agĩĩtia matawa, agĩcooka akĩhanyũka thĩinĩ akĩinainaga, akĩĩgũithia mbere ya Paũlũ na Sila.
Having called for now lights he rushed in and terrified having become he fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 Agĩcooka akĩmoimia na nja, akĩũria atĩrĩ, “Athuuri aya, njagĩrĩirwo nĩ gwĩka atĩa nĩguo honoke?”
And having brought them out he was saying; Sirs, what of me is necessary to do that I may be saved?
31 Nao makĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩtĩkia Mwathani Jesũ, na nĩũkũhonoka, wee, o hamwe na andũ a nyũmba yaku.”
And they said; do believe on the Lord Jesus (Christ *K*) and will be saved you yourself and the household of you.
32 Magĩcooka makĩmwarĩria ũhoro wa kiugo kĩa Mwathani, hamwe na andũ arĩa angĩ othe maarĩ gwake nyũmba.
And they spoke to him the word of the (Lord *NK(O)*) (along with *N(k)O*) all those in the house of him.
33 O ihinda rĩu rĩa ũtukũ, mũrangĩri ũcio wa njeera akĩmooya, akĩmathambia ironda, na o hĩndĩ ĩyo we na andũ othe a nyũmba yake makĩbatithio.
And having taken them in that [very] hour of the night he washed [them] from the wounds, and he was baptized he himself and the [household] of him (all *NK(o)*) immediately.
34 Mũrangĩri ũcio wa njeera akĩmatwara gwake nyũmba, na akĩmahe irio. Akĩiyũrwo nĩ gĩkeno tondũ nĩeetĩkirie Ngai, we o hamwe na andũ a nyũmba yake yothe.
Having brought then them into the house (of him *ko*) he laid a table [for them] and (rejoiced *NK(o)*) with all [his] household having believed in God.
35 Na rĩrĩ, gwakĩa aciirithania magĩtũma thigari ikeere mũrangĩri ũcio wa njeera atĩrĩ, “Rekereria andũ acio mathiĩ.”
When day then having come sent the magistrates the officers saying; do release the men those.
36 Nake mũrangĩri ũcio wa njeera akĩĩra Paũlũ atĩrĩ, “Aciirithania maathana, moiga atĩ wee na Sila mũrekererio. Rĩu no mũthiĩ. Thiĩi na thayũ.”
Reported then the jailer words these to Paul that Have sent the captains that you may be let go; Now therefore having gone out do depart in peace.
37 No Paũlũ akĩĩra thigari icio atĩrĩ, “Maratũhũũrire mbere ya mũingĩ tũtaciirithĩtio, o na gũtuĩka ithuĩ tũrĩ raiya a Roma, na maratũikia njeera. Rĩu marakĩenda gũtũruta na hitho? Aca! Reke mooke o ene matũrute nja, matuumagarie.”
But Paul was saying to them; Having beaten us publicly uncondemned men Romans being, they cast [us] into prison, and now secretly us do they throw out? No indeed! Instead having come themselves us they should bring out.
38 Nacio thigari igĩcookeria aciirithania ũhoro ũcio, na rĩrĩa maaiguire atĩ Paũlũ na Sila maarĩ raiya a Roma, makĩmaka.
(Reported *N(k)O*) then to the magistrates the officers declarations these; (and *k*) They were afraid (then *no*) having heard that Romans they are,
39 Nao magĩũka kũmahooreria, na makĩmoimagaria kuuma njeera, makĩmathaitha moime itũũra rĩu mathiĩ.
And having come they appealed to them and having brought [them] out they were asking [them] (to go out *N(k)O*) (of *no*) the city.
40 Paũlũ na Sila maarĩkia kuuma njeera, magĩthiĩ mũciĩ kwa Lidia, kũrĩa maakorire ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, na makĩmoomĩrĩria. Magĩcooka magĩĩthiĩra.
Having gone forth then (out of *N(k)O*) the prison they came (to *N(k)O*) Lydia; and having seen [them] they exhorted the brothers (them *k*) and departed.
