< Atũmwo 15 >

1 Na rĩrĩ, andũ amwe magĩikũrũka kuuma Judea magĩthiĩ Antiokia, na nĩmarutaga ariũ a Ithe witũ makameera atĩrĩ: “Mũngĩaga kũrua kũringana na mũtugo ũrĩa warutanirwo nĩ Musa, mũtingĩhonoka.”
In the meantime, some, who came down from Judea, taught the brethren, Except you be circumcised, according to the manner of Moses, you can not be saved.
There being, therefore, a contention, and no small debate with them, on the part of Paul and Barnabas; they resolved that Paul and Barnabas, and some others of their number, should go up to the Apostles and elders at Jerusalem, about this question.
Ũhoro ũcio ũgĩkenia ariũ a Ithe witũ mũno.
They, therefore, being brought forward on their journey, by the congregation, went through Phenicia and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles; and they occasioned great joy to all the brethren.
4 Na maakinya Jerusalemu, makĩamũkĩrwo nĩ kanitha, na atũmwo, na athuuri, nao makĩmeera maũndũ mothe marĩa Ngai eekĩte agereire harĩo.
And being arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the congregation, and by the Apostles and elders: and they related what things God had done with them.
5 Hĩndĩ ĩyo andũ amwe a arĩa meetĩkĩtie a thiritũ ya Afarisai makĩrũgama, makiuga atĩrĩ, “Andũ a Ndũrĩrĩ no nginya marue na maathwo atĩ marũmagie watho wa Musa.”
But some of the sect of the Pharisees that believed, rose up and said, that it was necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.
6 Nao atũmwo na athuuri magĩcemania nĩgeetha maarĩrĩrie ũhoro ũcio.
And the Apostles and elders were gathered together to consult upon this affair.
7 Thuutha wa mĩario mĩingĩ, Petero akĩrũgama, akĩmarĩria, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, nĩmũũĩ atĩ ihinda rĩhĩtũku, Ngai nĩathuurire kuuma gatagatĩ kanyu nĩguo andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ maigue ndũmĩrĩri ya Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega kuuma kũrĩ niĩ na nĩguo metĩkie.
And after much debate, Peter rose up and said to them, Brethren, you know that, some considerable time since, God among us, chose, that the Gentiles, by my mouth, should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 Nake Ngai, ũrĩa ũũĩ ngoro, akĩonania atĩ nĩametĩkĩrĩte na ũndũ wa kũmahe Roho Mũtheru, o ta ũrĩa aatũhete.
And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did to us:
9 Ndeekĩrire ngũũrani gatagatĩ gaitũ nao, nĩgũkorwo maatheririe ngoro ciao na ũndũ wa wĩtĩkio.
and made no distinction between us and them, having purified their hearts by faith.
10 Hakĩrĩ ũguo-rĩ, nĩ kĩĩ kĩratũma mwende kũgeria Ngai na ũndũ wa gwĩkĩra arutwo icooki ngingo rĩrĩa ithuĩ o na kana maithe maitũ tũtarĩ twahota gũkuua?
Now, therefore, why do you tempt God by imposing on the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
11 Aca! Twĩtĩkĩtie atĩ tũhonokete nĩ ũndũ wa wega wa Mwathani witũ Jesũ, o ta ũrĩa o nao mahonokete.”
But we believe that we are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same manner as they.
12 Nakĩo kĩũngano gĩothe gĩgĩkira ki gĩgĩthikĩrĩria Baranaba na Paũlũ makĩheana ũhoro wa ciama na morirũ iria Ngai eekĩte kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ agereire harĩo.
And the whole multitude kept silence, and attended to Barnabas and Paul; relating what signs and wonders God had done among the heathen, by them.
13 Rĩrĩa maarĩkirie kwaria, Jakubu akĩaria akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, ta thikĩrĩriai.
Then after they had done speaking, James answered, saying, Brethren, hearken to me.
14 Simoni nĩatũtaarĩria ũrĩa Ngai oonanirie wendo wake hĩndĩ ya mbere na ũndũ wa gwĩthuurĩra andũ kuuma kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ nĩguo matuĩke aake.
Simeon has been relating how God first looked down on the Gentiles, to take from among them a people for his name.
15 Nacio ciugo cia anabii ikaringana na ũhoro ũcio, o ta ũrĩa kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ:
And the words of the prophets harmonize with this; as it is written,
"After this, I will return, and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; yes, I will rebuild its ruins, and set it upright again:
17 nĩgeetha matigari marongoragie Mwathani, o na andũ othe a Ndũrĩrĩ arĩa metanagio na rĩĩtwa rĩakwa, ũguo nĩguo Mwathani ũrĩa wĩkaga maũndũ macio ekuuga’
that the remainder of men may seek the Lord, even all the heathen upon whom my name is called,
18 marĩa moĩkaine kuuma o tene. (aiōn g165)
says the Lord," who does all these things, known to him from the beginning. (aiōn g165)
19 “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, niĩ ngũtua atĩrĩ, tũtige kũritũhĩria ũhoro andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ arĩa maragarũrũka kũrĩ Ngai.
Wherefore, my judgment is not to disquiet those who, from among the Gentiles, are converted to God;
20 Handũ ha ũguo-rĩ, twagĩrĩirwo tũmaandĩkĩre marũa, tũmeere metheemage kuumana na irio iria ithaahĩtio nĩ mĩhianano, ningĩ metheemage kuumana na ũmaraya, na kuumana na nyama cia nyamũ cia gũitwo, o na kuumana na thakame.
but to write to them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from that which is strangled, and from blood.
For Moses has, from ancient generations, those who preach him, in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.
Then it seemed good to the Apostles and elders, and all the congregation, to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, chosen men from among themselves, namely, Judas, surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, men of principal account among the brethren;
23 Makĩmatũma na marũa maya: Nĩ ithuĩ atũmwo na athuuri, o ithuĩ ariũ a Ithe wanyu, Kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ arĩa metĩkĩtie kũu Antiokia, na Suriata, na Kilikia: Amũkĩrai ngeithi.
writing by their hands these things: The Apostles, and elders, and brethren, to the brethren from among the Gentiles in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, greeting:
24 Nĩtũiguĩte atĩ andũ amwe nĩmooimire kũrĩ ithuĩ matarĩ na rũũtha rwitũ, na makĩmũthĩĩnia, na makĩnyariira meciiria manyu nĩ ũndũ wa maũndũ marĩa maaririe.
Forasmuch as we have been informed that, some going out from among us, to whom we gave no commission, have troubled you with discourses, unsettling your minds, saying, that you must be circumcised, and keep the law:
25 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ithuothe nĩtũiguanĩire tũthuure andũ amwe tũmatũme kũrĩ inyuĩ marĩ na arata aitũ endwa, Baranaba na Paũlũ,
we, being unanimously assembled, have thought proper to send you chosen men, with out beloved Barnabas and Paul;
26 andũ arĩa matwarĩrĩirie mĩoyo yao ũgwati-inĩ nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Mwathani witũ Jesũ Kristũ.
men that have exposed their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩtwatũma Judasi na Sila nĩgeetha makindĩre ũhoro ũyũ tũramwandĩkĩra na ciugo cia tũnua twao.
We have, therefore, sent Judas and Silas, who will also tell you by word of mouth, the same things.
28 Nĩkuonekete arĩ wega kũrĩ Roho Mũtheru o na kũrĩ ithuĩ twage kũmũkuuithia mũrigo ũkĩrĩte maũndũ maya:
For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to impose no further burden upon you besides these necessary things;
29 Na rĩrĩ, mũtikarĩĩage irio iria irutĩirwo mĩhianano, na mũtikanyuuage thakame, na mũtikarĩĩage nyama cia nyamũ cia gũitwo, na mũtigane na ũmaraya. Mwetheema maũndũ macio-rĩ, nĩmũgwĩka wega. Tigwoi ũhoro.
that you abstain from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from anything strangled, and from fornication: from which you will do well to keep yourselves. Farewell.
30 Nao andũ acio makiugĩrwo ũhoro, na makĩharũrũka magĩthiĩ Antiokia, kũrĩa maacookanĩrĩirie kanitha hamwe, na makĩneana marũa macio.
They, therefore, being dismissed, came to Antioch; and assembling the multitude, delivered the epistle.
31 Rĩrĩa andũ maathomire marũa macio, magĩkena nĩ ũndũ wa ndũmĩrĩri ya kũmoomĩrĩria ĩrĩa yaandĩkĩtwo marũa-inĩ macio.
And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation it brought.
And Judas and Silas, being also prophets themselves; in a copious discourse, exhorted and strengthened the brethren.
And, having made some stay, they were dismissed with peace from the brethren to the Apostles.
34 (Nowe Sila akĩona arĩ wega aikare kũu.)
But Silas thought proper to continue there.
35 No Paũlũ na Baranaba magĩtigwo kũu Antiokia, kũrĩa o, na andũ angĩ aingĩ maarutanaga na makahunjia kiugo kĩa Mwathani.
Paul also, and Barnabas, with many others, continued at Antioch; teaching and declaring the good word of the Lord.
36 Thuutha wa mĩthenya ĩigana ũna, Paũlũ akĩĩra Baranaba atĩrĩ, “Reke tũcooke tũgaceerere ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ matũũra-inĩ mothe marĩa tũhunjĩtie kiugo kĩa Mwathani, tũkamenye ũrĩa matariĩ.”
And, after some days, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us return and visit the brethren in all the cities in which we have published the word of the Lord; and see how they do.
37 Baranaba nĩeendaga kuoya Johana, ũrĩa wetagwo Mariko mathiĩ nake,
And Barnabas determined to take along with them John, surnamed Mark.
38 no Paũlũ ndonaga arĩ wega mathiĩ nake, tondũ nĩamatiganĩirie rĩrĩa maarĩ Pamufilia na akĩaga gũthiĩ kũruta wĩra nao.
But Peter did not think proper to take with them that person who had withdrawn himself from them from Pamphylia; and went not with them to the work.
39 Makĩgĩa na gũkararania kũnene o nginya makĩamũkana. Baranaba akĩoya Mariko, makĩhaica marikabu, magĩthiĩ Kuporo,
There was, therefore, a sharp fit of anger, so that they separated from each other; and Barnabas, taking Mark along with him, sailed to Cyprus.
40 no Paũlũ agĩthuura Sila, na maarĩkia kũhooerwo wega wa Mwathani nĩ ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, magĩthiĩ.
But Paul made choice of Silas, and departed; being commended to the grace of God, by the brethren.
41 Agĩtuĩkanĩria Suriata na Kilikia, agĩĩkagĩra makanitha hinya.
And he went through Syria and Cilicia confirming the congregations;
