At that [very] now time put forth Herod the king the hands to mistreat some of those of the church.
He executed then James the brother of John with the sword.
3 Na rĩrĩa oonire ũhoro ũcio nĩwakenia Ayahudi-rĩ, akĩnyiitithia Petero o nake. Ũndũ ũcio wekĩkire hĩndĩ ya Gĩathĩ kĩa Mĩgate Ĩtarĩ Mĩĩkĩre Ndawa ya Kũimbia.
(and *k*) Having seen (now *no*) that pleasing it is to the Jews, he proceeded to take also Peter — these were now (the *no*) days of the Unleavened [Bread] —
whom also having seized he put in prison having delivered [him] to four sets of four soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring out him to the people.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Petero akĩhingĩrwo njeera, no kanitha nĩwahooyaga Ngai ũtegũtigithĩria nĩ ũndũ wake.
Indeed therefore Peter was kept in the prison; prayer however was (fervently *N(k)O*) being made by the church to God (concerning *N(k)O*) him.
6 Na ũtukũ ũrĩa Herode aarokaga kũmũtwara agaciirithio, Petero aakomete gatagatĩ ga thigari igĩrĩ, ohetwo na mĩnyororo ĩĩrĩ, nacio thigari igĩrĩ ikarũgama kĩhingo-inĩ irangĩrĩte.
When then was about (to bring forth *N(k)(o)*) him Herod, in the night that [one] was Peter sleeping between two soldiers bound with chains two, guards also before the door were watching the prison.
7 Na rĩrĩ, o rĩmwe mũraika wa Mwathani akĩmuumĩrĩra naguo ũtheri ũkĩara kanyũmba kau aarĩ. Mũraika ũcio akĩringaringa Petero mwena na akĩmũũkĩria, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũkĩra narua!” Nayo mĩnyororo ĩrĩa oohetwo nayo moko ĩkĩgũa thĩ.
And behold an angel of [the] Lord stood by and a light shone in the cell; Having struck then the side of Peter he woke up him saying; do rise up with speed. And fell of him the chains off the hands.
8 Mũraika ũcio agĩcooka akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wĩhumbe nguo ciaku na wĩkĩre iraatũ.” Nake Petero agĩĩka o ũguo. Mũraika ũcio akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wĩhotore nguo yaku na ũnũmĩrĩre.”
Said (then *N(k)O*) the angel to him; (do dress yourself *N(K)O*) and do yourself put on the sandals of you. He did and so. And he says to him; do yourself wrap around the cloak of you and do follow me.
9 Petero akĩmũrũmĩrĩra, makiuma nja ya njeera, no ndaamenyaga atĩ ũndũ ũcio mũraika eekaga warĩ ũndũ wa ma; eeciiragia atĩ nĩ kĩoneki oonaga.
And having gone forth he was following (him; *k*) and not did know that real is what is happening through the angel, he was thinking however a vision to see.
10 Makĩhĩtũka arangĩri a mbere na a keerĩ na magĩkinya kĩhingo-inĩ gĩa kĩgera kĩrĩa gĩa gũtoonya itũũra inene. Nakĩo kĩhingo kĩu gĩkĩĩhingũra nĩ ũndũ wao, nao makĩgerera ho. Rĩrĩa maathiire ũraihu wa gacĩra kamwe-rĩ, o rĩmwe mũraika ũcio akĩmũtiga.
Having passed through then a first guard and a second they came to the gate iron which is leading into the city, which by itself (opened *N(k)O*) to them, And having gone out they went on through street one and immediately departed the angel from him.
11 Nake Petero akĩĩigua, na akiuga atĩrĩ, “Rĩu nĩndamenya hatarĩ nganja atĩ Mwathani nĩegũtũmĩte mũraika wake aahonokie kuuma moko-inĩ ma Herode na kuuma kũrĩ maũndũ marĩa mothe andũ a Ayahudi matanyĩte kuona.”
And Peter to himself having come said; Now I know truly that has sent forth (the *no*) Lord the angel of Him and delivered me out of [the] hand of Herod and all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
Having considered [it] also he came to the house (*no*) of Mary the mother of John who is called Mark, where were many gathered together and praying.
13 Petero akĩringaringa mũrango wa nja, nake mũirĩtu warutaga wĩra kuo wetagwo Roda agĩũka kũhingũra.
When was knocking then (*k*) (he *N(K)O*) [at] the door of the gate came a girl to answer named Rhoda;
14 Rĩrĩa aaiguire mũgambo wa Petero, akĩiyũrwo nĩ gĩkeno kĩnene akĩaga kũhingũra mũrango akĩhũndũka atengʼerete, akĩanĩrĩra, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Petero arĩ mũrango-inĩ!”
And having recognized the voice of Peter from joy not she opened the gate having run in but she reported to have been standing Peter before the gate.
15 Nao makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩ kũgũrũka ũgũrũkĩte.” Rĩrĩa aakĩrĩrĩirie agwatĩirie kuuga atĩ ũguo nĩguo kwarĩ, makiuga atĩrĩ, “No nginya akorwo nĩ mũraika wake.”
And to her they said; You rave. But she was insisting [it] so to be. And they were saying; The angel it is of him.
16 Nowe Petero agĩthiĩ na mbere kũringaringa mũrango, na rĩrĩa maahingũrire makĩona nĩwe, makĩgega.
But Peter was continuing knocking; having opened [it] then they saw him and were amazed.
17 Petero akĩmakiria na guoko na akĩmataarĩria ũrĩa Mwathani aamũrutĩte njeera. Akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ĩrai Jakubu na ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ ũhoro ũcio,” agĩcooka agĩthiĩ kũndũ kũngĩ.
Having made a sign then to them with the hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord him had brought out of the prison; He said (then; *N(k)O*) do report to James and to the brothers these things. And having gone out he went to another place.
18 Rũciinĩ gwakĩa, nĩ kwagĩire na ngũĩ nene gatagatĩ-inĩ ga thigari nĩ kũrigwo nĩ ũrĩa gwekĩkĩte ũhoro ũkoniĩ Petero.
When was coming now day there was disturbance no small among the soldiers what then [of] Peter has become.
Herod then having sought after him and not having found [him] having examined the guards he commanded [them] to be led away [to death], And having gone down from Judea to (*k*) Caesarea he was staying [there].
20 Na rĩrĩ, nĩatũũrĩte ahaaranĩte na andũ a Turo na a Sidoni, no o magĩcookanĩrĩra hamwe magĩetha ũrĩa mangĩaranĩirie nake.
He was now (*k*) (Herod *K*) furiously angry with [the] Tyrians and Sidonians; with one accord then they were coming to him And having gained Blastus who [was] over the bedchamber of the king they were seeking peace, because of being nourished their region by the king’s.
21 Na mũthenya ũrĩa waraarĩirio wakinya-rĩ, Herode akĩĩhumba nguo ciake cia ũthamaki, na agĩikarĩra gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene, akĩarĩria andũ acio.
On the appointed now day Herod having put on apparel royal and having sat on the throne was making an address to them.
22 Nao makĩanĩrĩra makiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũcio nĩ mũgambo wa ngai, ti mũgambo wa mũndũ.”
And the people were crying out; Of a god [this is the] voice and not of a man!
23 O rĩmwe mũraika wa Mwathani akĩringa Herode nĩ ũndũ wa kwaga kũgoocithia Ngai, nake akĩrĩĩo nĩ igunyũ, agĩkua.
Immediately then struck him an angel of [the] Lord in return for that not he gave the glory to God, and having been eaten by worms he breathed his last.
24 No kiugo kĩa Ngai gĩgĩkĩrĩrĩria kuongerereka na gũtheerema.
But the word (of God *NK(O)*) was continuing to grow and was being multiplied.
25 Rĩrĩa Baranaba na Saũlũ maarĩkirie ũtungata wao-rĩ, magĩcooka kuuma Jerusalemu, na magĩcooka na Johana, na nowe wetagwo Mariko.
Barnabas then and Saul returned (to *N(K)O*) Jerusalem having fulfilled the mission, having taken with [them] (and *k*) John the [one] having been called Mark.
