< 3 Johana 1 >

1 Kuuma kũrĩ niĩ Mũthuuri wa Kanitha, Ndakwandĩkĩra, wee mũrata wakwa mwendwa Gayo, ũrĩa nyendete kũna kũna.
The elder To Gaius the beloved whom I myself love in truth.
2 Mũrata wakwa mwendwa, mahooya makwa nĩ atĩ ũkenagĩre ũgima wa mwĩrĩ, na atĩ maũndũ mothe magaacĩre, o ta ũrĩa ngoro yaku ĩikarĩte ĩgaacĩire.
Beloved, concerning all things I pray you to do well and to be in good health even as does well your soul.
I rejoiced for exceedingly when were coming [the] brothers and those bearing witness from you to the to truth, even as you yourself in truth are walking.
4 Gũtirĩ ũndũ ũngĩ ũngenagia gũkĩra kũigua atĩ ciana ciakwa no ithiiaga irũmĩrĩire njĩra ĩrĩa ya ũhoro ũrĩa wa ma.
Greater than these things not I have (joy *NK(O)*) that I may hear of my children in (the *no*) truth walking.
5 Mũrata wakwa mwendwa, wee nĩũkoragwo ũrĩ mwĩhokeku thĩinĩ wa maũndũ marĩa wĩkagĩra ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, o na gũtuĩka ndũmooĩ.
Beloved, faithfully you are doing whatever maybe you shall do for the brothers and (for *k*) (that [thing] *N(k)O*) strangers,
6 Nĩmerĩĩte kanitha ũhoro wa wendani waku. Nĩ wega ũmoimagarie o ta ũrĩa kwagĩrĩire harĩ Ngai.
who testified of your love before [the] church, whom well you will do having set forward worthily of God.
7 Moimagarire nĩ ũndũ wa Rĩĩtwa rĩake na makĩrega ũteithio kuuma kũrĩ andũ arĩa matetĩkĩtie Ngai.
On behalf for of the name they went forth nothing accepting from the (Gentile [people]. *N(k)O*)
8 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ithuĩ-rĩ, twagĩrĩirwo gũtaanahagĩra andũ ta acio nĩgeetha tũrutithanagie wĩra wa ũhoro ũrĩa wa ma tũrĩ hamwe.
We ourselves therefore ought (to receive *N(k)O*) such [men] so that fellow workers we may be in the truth.
9 Nĩndandĩkĩire kanitha, no Diotirefe, ũrĩa wendaga gũtuĩka ta mũnene, nĩareganire na ithuĩ.
I have written (something *no*) to the church; but the [one] loving to be first among them Diotrephes not welcomes us.
10 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndooka, nĩngoiga maũndũ marĩa ekaga, kwaria ndeto cia mũhuhu na cia gũtũcambia. Ningĩ akaaga kũiganwo nĩ ũguo, akarega kũnyiita ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ ũgeni. Agacooka akagirĩrĩria arĩa mekwenda gwĩka ũguo o na akamaingata kanitha-inĩ.
Because of this, if I shall come, I will bring to remembrance of him the works which he is doing, with words evil prating against us; and not being satisfied with these, neither himself he receives the brothers, and those purposing he forbids and from the church he casts [them] out.
11 Mũrata wakwa mwendwa, ndũkanae kwĩgerekania na ũhoro ũrĩa mũũru, no wĩgerekanagie na ũhoro ũrĩa mwega. Mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa wĩkaga wega nĩ wa Ngai. Nake ũrĩa wothe wĩkaga ũũru ũcio ndarĩ ona Ngai.
Beloved, not do imitate what [is] evil but what [is] good. The [one] doing good of God is; the [one] (now *k*) doing evil not has seen God.
To Demetrius witness has been given by all and by itself the truth; and we ourselves also bear witness, and (you know *N(k)O*) that the testimony of us true is.
13 Ndĩ na maũndũ maingĩ ma gũkwandĩkĩra, no ndikwenda gũkwandĩkĩra na karamu na rangi.
Many things I had (to write *N(k)O*) (to you, *no*) but not I desire with ink and pen to you (to write; *N(k)O*)
14 Ndĩ na mwĩhoko wa gũkuona ica ikuhĩ, twaranĩrie tũkĩonanaga. Thayũ ũroogĩa kũrĩwe. Arata arĩa me gũkũ nĩmakũgeithia. Geithia arata arĩa marĩ kũu na marĩĩtwa mao.
I hope however soon you to see and mouth to mouth we will speak. Peace to you. Greet you the friends. do greet the friends by name.
