< 2 Samũeli 17 >
1 Ahithofeli akĩĩra Abisalomu atĩrĩ, “Reke thuure andũ ngiri ikũmi na igĩrĩ nĩguo tũthiĩ ũtukũ o ro ũyũ tũgakinyĩre Daudi.
And he said Ahithophel to Absalom let me choose please two [plus] ten thousand man and I will arise and I will pursue after David this night.
2 Na ndĩmũtharĩkĩre o ro rĩu arĩ mũnogu na atarĩ na hinya. Ndĩmũmakie, na andũ arĩa othe arĩa marĩ hamwe nake moore. Njũrage o mũthamaki we wiki,
So I may come on him and he [will be] weary and slack of hands and I will terrify him and will flee all the people which [is] with him and I will strike down the king to only him.
3 na hũndũre andũ othe macooke kũrĩ we. Gĩkuũ kĩa mũndũ ũcio ũracaria gĩgũcookia andũ othe harĩwe; gũtirĩ mũndũ ũkũgurara.”
And I will bring back all the people to you as returns everything the man whom you [are] seeking all the people it will be peace.
4 Narĩo ithugunda rĩu rĩkĩoneka rĩrĩ rĩega nĩ Abisalomu na athuuri othe a Isiraeli.
And it was pleasing the word in [the] eyes of Absalom and in [the] eyes of all [the] elders of Israel.
5 No Abisalomu akiuga atĩrĩ, “Tũmanĩrai Hushai ũrĩa Mũariki o nake, nĩguo tũigue ũrĩa ekuuga.”
And he said Absalom summon please also Hushai the Arkite so let us hear what? [is] in mouth his also he.
6 Na rĩrĩa Hushai ookire, Abisalomu akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ahithofeli nĩaheanĩte mataaro maya. Nĩ wega twĩke ũguo aroiga? Angĩkorwo ti ũguo-rĩ, tũhe woni waku.”
And he came Hushai to Absalom and he said Absalom to him saying according to the word this he has spoken Ahithophel ¿ will we do word his if not you speak.
7 Hushai agĩcookeria Abisalomu atĩrĩ, “Itaaro rĩrĩa Ahithofeli aheanĩte ti rĩega ihinda-inĩ rĩĩrĩ.
And he said Hushai to Absalom not [is] good the counsel which he has counseled Ahithophel at the time this.
8 Wee nĩũũĩ thoguo na andũ ake; nĩ andũ njamba, na nĩ njamba ta nduba ĩtunyĩtwo mwana wayo. Ningĩ thoguo arĩ na ũmenyo wa mbaara; ndarĩ hĩndĩ angĩraarania na mbũtũ cia ita.
And he said Hushai you you know father your and men his that [are] warriors they and [are] bitter of soul they like a bear robbed of cubs in the field and father your [is] a man of war and not he will pass [the] night with the people.
9 O na rĩu ahithĩtwo ngurunga kana akahithwo handũ hangĩ. Angĩtharĩkĩra mbũtũ ciaku cia ita mbere-rĩ, ũrĩa wothe ũkaigua ũhoro ũcio akoiga atĩrĩ, ‘Mbũtũ cia ita cia Abisalomu nĩciũragĩtwo.’
There! now he [has] hidden himself in one of the ravines or in one of the places and it will be when falls among them at the first and he will hear the [one who] hears and he will say it has been a slaughter among the people which [is] after Absalom.
10 Hĩndĩ ĩyo o na mũthigari ũrĩa njamba, ũrĩa ngoro yake ĩhaana ta ngoro ya mũrũũthi-rĩ, nĩakaringĩka nĩ guoya, tondũ Isiraeli othe nĩmooĩ atĩ, thoguo nĩ njamba ya ita na atĩ andũ arĩa marĩ nake nĩ njamba.
And he also a son of strength whom heart his [is] like [the] heart of lion surely he will melt for [is] knowing all Israel that [is] a warrior father your and [are] sons of strength who [are] with him.
11 “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngũgũtaara atĩrĩ: Reke andũ othe a Isiraeli kuuma Dani nginya Birishiba, acio aingĩ mũno ta mũthanga wa hũgũrũrũ cia iria, moonganio othe macookanĩrĩre harĩwe, na wee mwene ũmatongorie magĩthiĩ ita-inĩ.
For I counsel certainly let it be gathered to you all Israel from Dan and to Beer Sheba like the sand which [is] at the sea for multitude and face your [will be] going in the battle.
12 Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩtũkaamũtharĩkĩra harĩa hothe tũngĩmuona, tũmũmbĩrĩre o ta ũrĩa ime rĩgũaga thĩ. Nĩgũkorwo we mwene o na kana mũndũ o na ũmwe wake gũtirĩ ũgaatigara muoyo.
And we will come against him (in one of *Q(k)*) the places where he is found there and we will set on him when it will fall the dew on the ground and not we will leave among him and among all the men who [are] with him also one.
13 O na ningĩ angĩgatoonya itũũra inene, andũ othe a Isiraeli makaarehe mĩhĩndo itũũra-inĩ rĩu, tũrĩkururie tũrĩtware gĩtuamba-inĩ, o nginya kwage gacunjĩ karĩo kangĩoneka.”
And if into a city he will be gathered and they will cause to bring all Israel to the city that ropes and we will drag him to the wadi until that not it has been found there also a pebble.
14 Nake Abisalomu na andũ othe a Isiraeli makiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũtaaro wa Hushai ũrĩa Mũariki nĩ mwega gũkĩra wa Ahithofeli.” Nĩgũkorwo Jehova nĩatuĩte atĩ nĩegũthũkia ũtaarani ũcio mwega wa Ahithofeli nĩgeetha arehithĩrie Abisalomu mwanangĩko.
And he said Absalom and every man of Israel [is] good [the] counsel of Hushai the Arkite more than [the] counsel of Ahithophel and Yahweh he had commanded to frustrate [the] counsel of Ahithophel good in order to bring Yahweh to Absalom calamity.
15 Hushai akĩĩra Zadoku na Abiatharu, acio athĩnjĩri-Ngai, atĩrĩ, “Ahithofeli nĩataarĩte Abisalomu na athuuri a Isiraeli meeke ũna na ũna, no niĩ ndĩmataarĩte meke ũna na ũna.
And he said Hushai to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests like this and like this he has counseled Ahithophel Absalom and [the] elders of Israel and like this and like this I have counseled I.
16 Rĩu tũmana kũrĩ Daudi narua, ũmwĩre atĩrĩ, ‘Ũtukũ ũyũ menya ndũkaraare mariũko-inĩ kũu werũ-inĩ; ringa mũrĩmo na ndũkaage gwĩka ũguo, kwaga ũguo mũthamaki na arĩa othe arĩ nao nĩmekũniinwo.’”
And therefore send quickly and tell to David saying may not you pass [the] night this night at [the] desert plains of the wilderness and also certainly you will pass over lest it should be swallowed up to the king and to all the people which [is] with him.
17 Jonathani na Ahimaazu maikaraga Eni-Rogeli. Nayo ndungata ya mũirĩtu nĩyo yarĩ ĩthiĩ ĩkamahe ũhoro ũcio, nao mathiĩ makeere Mũthamaki Daudi, tondũ matingĩetĩkĩrire kuonwo magĩtoonya itũũra-inĩ rĩu inene.
And Jonathan and Ahimaaz [were] staying at En Rogel and she went the maidservant and she told to them and they they went and they told to the king David for not they were able to be seen to go the city towards.
18 No kamwana kanini nĩkamonire na gakĩĩra Abisalomu. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ acio eerĩ makiumagara na ihenya magĩtoonya nyũmba ya mũndũ kũu Bahurimu. Nake aarĩ na gĩthima hau nja ya mũciĩ wake, nao makĩharũrũka thĩinĩ wakĩo.
And he saw them a young man and he told to Absalom and they went [the] two of them quickly and they came - to [the] house of a man in Bahurim and [belonged] to him a well in courtyard his and they went down there.

And she took the woman and she spread out the covering on [the] face of the well and she spread on it the grain[s] and not it was known anything.
20 Na rĩrĩa andũ a Abisalomu mookire kũrĩ mũtumia ũcio kũu nyũmba gwake-rĩ, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Ahimaazu na Jonathani marĩ ha?” Nake mũtumia ũcio akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Maringire mũrĩmo ũũrĩa wa karũũĩ.” Nao andũ acio makĩmacaria no mationire mũndũ; nĩ ũndũ ũcio magĩcooka Jerusalemu.
And they came [the] servants of Absalom to the woman the house towards and they said where? [are] Ahimaaz and Jonathan and she said to them the woman they have passed over [the] brook of water and they sought [them] and not they found [them] and they returned Jerusalem.
21 Thuutha wa andũ acio gũthiĩ, Jonathani na Ahimaazu makiuma gĩthima-inĩ, na magĩtwarĩra Mũthamaki Daudi ũhoro ũcio. Makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wĩhaarĩrie ũringe rũũĩ o narua, Ahithofeli nĩ ataaranĩte ũna na ũna wa gũgũũkĩrĩra.”
And it was - after had gone they and they came up from the well and they went and they told to the king David and they said to David arise and pass over quickly the water for thus he has counseled on you Ahithophel.
22 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Daudi na andũ othe arĩa maarĩ nake magĩũkĩra na makĩringa Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani. Na gũgĩkĩa gũtirĩ mũndũ ũtaaringĩte Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani.
And he arose David and all the people which [was] with him and they passed over the Jordan until [the] light of the morning up to one [person] not [was] missing who not he had passed over the Jordan.
23 Na rĩrĩa Ahithofeli onire atĩ mataaro make matiinarũmĩrĩrĩrwo-rĩ, agĩtandĩka ndigiri yake, akĩinũka gwake mũciĩ itũũra-inĩ rĩake. Agĩthondeka maũndũ make, agĩcooka akĩĩita. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩkua na agĩthikwo mbĩrĩra-inĩ ya ithe.
And Ahithophel he saw that not it was done counsel his and he saddled the donkey and he arose and he went to house his to city his and he commanded concerning household his and he hanged himself and he died and he was buried in [the] tomb of father his.
24 Daudi agĩthiĩ Mahanaimu, nake Abisalomu akĩringa Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani hamwe na andũ othe a Isiraeli.
And David he had gone Mahanaim towards and Absalom he had passed over the Jordan he and every man of Israel with him.
25 Abisalomu nĩathuurĩte Amasa atuĩke mũnene wa mbũtũ cia ita ithenya rĩa Joabu. Amasa aarĩ mũriũ wa mũndũ wetagwo Jetheri, Mũisiraeli ũrĩa wahikĩtie Abigaili, mwarĩ wa Nahashu, mwarĩ wa nyina na Zeruia nyina wa Joabu.
And Amasa he had appointed Absalom in place of Joab over the army and Amasa [was] a son of a man and name his [was] Jether the Israelite who he had gone into Abigail [the] daughter of Nahash [the] sister of Zeruiah [the] mother of Joab.
26 Andũ a Isiraeli na Abisalomu maambĩte hema ciao bũrũri-inĩ wa Gileadi.
And it encamped Israel and Absalom [the] land of Gilead.
27 Na rĩrĩa Daudi aakinyire Mahanaimu, Shobi mũrũ wa Nahashu wa kuuma Raba kwa Aamoni, na Makiri mũrũ wa Amieli kuuma Lo-Debari, na Barizilai ũrĩa Mũgileadi kuuma Rogelimu
And it was when came David Mahanaim towards and Shobi [the] son of Nahash from Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and Makir [the] son of Ammiel from Lo Debar and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim.

Bed[s] and basins and a vessel of a potter and wheat and barley and flour and roasted grain and bean[s] and lentils and roasted grain.
29 na ũũkĩ na ngorono, na ngʼondu na maguta mamata ma iria rĩa ngʼombe, nĩgeetha Daudi na andũ ake marĩe. Tondũ moigire atĩrĩ, “Andũ aya nĩahũũtu, na makanoga, na makanyootera gũkũ werũ-inĩ.”
And honey and curd and sheep and cheese of [the] herd they brought for David and for the people which [was] with him to eat for they said the people [is] hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.
