< 2 Akorinitho 3 >

1 Anga nĩtũraambĩrĩria gũcooka kwĩgaathĩrĩria? Kana hihi nĩtũbataire kũheo marũa ma gũtũgaathĩrĩria kũrĩ inyuĩ kana moimĩte kũrĩ inyuĩ ta andũ arĩa angĩ?
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some [others], epistles of commendation to you, or [letters] of commendation from you.
2 Inyuĩ ene nĩ inyuĩ marũa maitũ, maandĩkĩtwo ngoro-inĩ ciitũ, mamenyekete na magathomagwo nĩ andũ othe.
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men:
3 Inyuĩ nĩmuonanagia atĩ mũrĩ marũa moimĩte kũrĩ Kristũ, inyuĩ mũrĩ maciaro ma ũtungata witũ, marũa mataandĩkĩtwo na rangi, no maandĩkĩtwo na Roho wa Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ muoyo. Matiandĩkĩtwo ihengere-inĩ cia mahiga, no maandĩkĩtwo ihengere-inĩ cia ngoro cia andũ.
[Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on fleshly tables of the heart.
4 Ũcio nĩguo ũũmĩrĩru witũ harĩ Ngai nĩ ũndũ wa Kristũ.
And such trust we have through Christ toward God.
5 Na ti atĩ tũrĩ na ũhoti ithuĩ ene tũngĩĩgaathĩra, no ũhoti witũ uumaga kũrĩ Ngai.
Not that we are sufficient by ourselves to think any thing as from ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] from God;
6 Nĩwe ũtũhotithĩtie tũtuĩke ndungata cia kĩrĩkanĩro kĩrĩa kĩerũ, nakĩo ti kĩa ũhoro ũrĩa mwandĩke, no nĩ kĩa Roho; nĩgũkorwo ũhoro ũrĩa mwandĩke nĩ kũũraga ũragaga, no Roho aheanaga muoyo.
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away;
8 githĩ ũtungata wa Roho to ũgĩkorwo ũkĩrĩ na riiri makĩria?
How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious?
9 Angĩkorwo ũtungata ũrĩa ũtuaga andũ ehia nĩ ũrĩ riiri-rĩ, githĩ ũtungata ũrĩa ũrehaga ũthingu ndũngĩgĩkorwo ũrĩ na riiri makĩria!
For if the ministration of condemnation [was] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 Nĩgũkorwo ũhoro ũrĩa warĩ na riiri mbere, rĩu ndũrĩ na riiri ũkĩringithanio na riiri ũcio ũngĩ ũũkĩrĩte.
For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 Na angĩkorwo ũhoro ũcio wathiraga wokire na riiri-rĩ, ũcio ũngĩ wa gũtũũra ndũngĩgĩkorwo na riiri makĩria!
For if that which was done away [was] glorious, much more that which remaineth [is] glorious.
12 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, twaragia ũhoro tũũmĩrĩirie mũno, nĩ ũndũ wa kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro kĩu.
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 Ithuĩ tũtitariĩ ta Musa, ũrĩa wehumbagĩra ũthiũ na gĩtambaya nĩguo agirĩrĩrie andũ a Isiraeli gũcũthĩrĩria ũthiũ wake rĩrĩa ũkengi ũcio wathiraga.
And not as Moses, [who] put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 No rĩrĩ, meciiria mao nĩmaritirio, nĩgũkorwo nginya ũmũthĩ gĩtambaya o kĩu gĩkoragwo o ho hĩndĩ ĩrĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩu gĩkũrũ kĩao gĩgũthomwo. Gĩtambaya kĩu gĩtirĩ kĩeherio, tondũ kĩeheragio nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtĩkia Kristũ.
But their minds were blinded: for until this day the same vail remaineth untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ.
15 O na nginya ũmũthĩ rĩrĩa watho wa Musa ũgũthomwo-rĩ, gĩtambaya kĩu no kĩhumbagĩra ngoro ciao.
But even to this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 No rĩrĩa rĩothe mũndũ o na ũ agarũrũkĩra Mwathani-rĩ, gĩtambaya kĩu nĩkĩeheragio.
Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17 Na rĩrĩ, Mwathani nĩwe Roho, na harĩa Roho wa Mwathani arĩ, hau nĩ harĩ na wĩyathi.
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.
18 Na ithuĩ ithuothe arĩa tũtahumbĩrĩte mothiũ maitũ, nĩtũhenahenagia riiri wa Mwathani ta tũrĩ icicio, na nĩtũgarũragwo nĩguo tũhaanane nake tũrĩ na riiri wa gũtũũra ũrĩa ũthiiaga o ũkĩongererekaga, o uumĩte kũrĩ Mwathani, ũrĩa arĩ we Roho.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
