< 2 Akorinitho 2 >
1 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩgũtua ndaatuire itua atĩ ndikũmũceerera rĩngĩ ndĩmũiguithie kĩeha.
But I have judged this with myself, not to come back to you in grief.
2 Tondũ-rĩ, ingĩkĩmũiguithia kĩeha-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩgĩtigara wa kũngenia, o tiga inyuĩ arĩa njiguithĩtie kĩeha?
For if I grieve you, who also [is] it that gladdens me, if not he that is grieved through me?
3 Ndamwandĩkĩire ũguo nĩgeetha rĩrĩa ngooka ndikanaiguithio kĩeha nĩ acio njagĩrĩirwo nĩgũkenio nĩo. Nĩ ndaarĩ na ũũmĩrĩru harĩ inyuĩ inyuothe atĩ nĩmũngĩagwatanĩire na niĩ gĩkeno-inĩ gĩakwa, nakĩo gĩtuĩke kĩanyu.
And I have written this very [letter] [to you], that coming I may not have grief from those from whom I ought to have joy; trusting in you all that my joy is [that] of you all.
4 Nĩgũkorwo ndamwandĩkĩire ndĩ mũthĩĩnĩku mũno, na ndĩ na ruo rwa ngoro na maithori maingĩ, ti atĩ nĩguo ndĩmũiguithie kĩeha, no nĩguo ndĩmũmenyithie wendo ũrĩa ndĩmwendete naguo.
For out of much tribulation and distress of heart I wrote to you, with many tears; not that ye may be grieved, but that ye may know the love which I have very abundantly towards you.
5 Angĩkorwo nĩ kũrĩ mũndũ ũiguithĩtie amwe anyu kĩeha-rĩ, ti niĩ aiguithĩtie, no nĩ inyuothe aiguithĩtie kĩeha. Ndiroiga ũguo ngĩhatĩrĩria ũrĩa wĩkĩte ũguo.
But if any one has grieved, he has grieved, not me, but in part (that I may not overcharge [you]) all of you.
6 Iherithia rĩrĩa aherithĩtio nĩ andũ arĩa aingĩ anyu, nĩrĩmũiganĩte.
Sufficient to such a one [is] this rebuke which [has been inflicted] by the many;
7 Rĩu inyuĩ-rĩ, nĩmwagĩrĩirwo nĩkũmũrekera na kũmũũmĩrĩria, nĩguo ndakae gũtoorio nĩ kĩeha gĩkĩrĩte.
so that on the contrary ye should rather shew grace and encourage, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with excessive grief.
8 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ndamũthaitha mũmuonie atĩ no mũmwendete.
Wherefore I exhort you to assure him of [your] love.
9 Gĩtũmi kĩrĩa gĩatũmire ndĩmwandĩkĩre marũa macio nĩndĩmũgerie, na menye kana no mwĩtiirie magerio na mwathĩkage maũndũ-inĩ mothe.
For to this end also I have written, that I might know, by putting you to the test, if as to everything ye are obedient.
10 Mũndũ ũrĩa mũngĩrekera, o na niĩ nĩndamũrekera. Naguo ũndũ ũrĩa ndekanĩire-rĩ (hangĩkorwo nĩ haarĩ ũndũ o na ũrĩkũ wa kũrekanĩra), ũndũ ũcio ndaũrekanĩra nĩ ũndũ wanyu ndĩ mbere ya Kristũ,
But to whom ye forgive anything, I also; for I also, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, [it is] for your sakes in [the] person of Christ;
11 nĩguo Shaitani ndakae gũtũhoota. Nĩgũkorwo tũtirigĩtwo nĩ mawara make.
that we might not have Satan get an advantage against us, for we are not ignorant of his thoughts.
12 Na rĩrĩ, rĩrĩa ndaathiire Teroa kũhunjia Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega wa Kristũ, na ngĩkora Mwathani ahingũrĩte mũrango-rĩ,
Now when I came to Troas for the [publication of the] glad tidings of the Christ, a door also being opened to me in [the] Lord,
13 ndiigana kũgĩa na thayũ ngoro-inĩ yakwa, tondũ ndiakorire mũrũ-wa-Ithe witũ Tito kuo. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngiugĩra andũ akuo ũhoro, ngĩcooka ngĩthiĩ nginya Makedonia.
I had no rest in my spirit at not finding Titus my brother; but bidding them adieu, I came away to Macedonia.
14 No rĩrĩ, Ngai arogoocwo, o we ũrĩa ũtũtongoragia hĩndĩ ciothe na ũhootani thĩinĩ wa Kristũ, nake agatũhũthagĩra ta tũrĩ mũtararĩko mwega wa kũmemerekia ũhoro wa kũmenya Kristũ kũndũ guothe.
But thanks [be] to God, who always leads us in triumph in the Christ, and makes manifest the odour of his knowledge through us in every place.
15 Tondũ ithuĩ tũrĩ mũtararĩko wa Kristũ ũrĩa ũkinyaga harĩ Ngai, kũrĩ arĩa marahonokio o na arĩa maroora.
For we are a sweet odour of Christ to God, in the saved and in those that perish:
16 Kũrĩ arĩa maroora-rĩ, tũrĩ mũnungo mũũru wa gĩkuũ; no kũrĩ arĩa marahonokio-rĩ, tũrĩ mũtararĩko wa muoyo. Nũũ ũngĩhota wĩra ta ũcio?
to the one an odour from death unto death, but to the others an odour from life unto life; and who [is] sufficient for these things?
For we do not, as the many, make a trade of the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as of God, before God, we speak in Christ.
