1 Rĩrĩa Hiramu mũthamaki wa Turo aiguire atĩ Solomoni nĩaitĩrĩirio maguta agatuĩka mũthamaki handũ ha ithe Daudi-rĩ, agĩtũma ndungata ciake kũrĩ Solomoni, tondũ we nĩmatũire marĩ ũrata na Daudi.
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
2 Nake Solomoni agĩcookeria Hiramu ndũmĩrĩri ĩno:
Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 “Wee nĩũkũmenya atĩ tondũ wa mbaara iria ciothe cianakora baba, Daudi, ciumĩte mĩena yothe, we ndaahotire gwaka hekarũ ĩĩtanĩtio na Rĩĩtwa rĩa Jehova Ngai wake, o nginya rĩrĩa Jehova aigire thũ ciake rungu rwa makinya make.
“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
4 No rĩu Jehova Ngai wakwa nĩaheete ũhurũko mĩena yothe, na gũtirĩ na thũ kana ũgwati.
But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩnduĩte atĩ nĩngwaka hekarũ ĩĩtanĩtio na Rĩĩtwa rĩa Jehova Ngai wakwa, o ta ũrĩa Jehova eerire baba Daudi rĩrĩa oigire atĩrĩ, ‘Mũriũ waku ũrĩa ngaikarĩria gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene handũ haku-rĩ, nĩwe ũgaaka hekarũ ĩĩtanĩtio na Rĩĩtwa rĩakwa.’
Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
6 “Nĩ ũndũ ũcio athana nĩguo ndemerwo mĩtarakwa ya Lebanoni. Andũ akwa nĩmarĩrutithanagia wĩra na andũ aku, na nĩndĩrĩkũrĩhaga mũcaara wa andũ aku o ta ũrĩa ũngiuga. Wee nĩũũĩ atĩ tũtirĩ na andũ marĩ na ũmenyo wa gwatũra mbaũ ta andũ a Sidoni.”
Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
7 Rĩrĩa Hiramu aiguire ndũmĩrĩri ya Solomoni, agĩkena mũno, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũmũthĩ Jehova arogoocwo, nĩgũkorwo nĩaheete Daudi mũriũ mũũgĩ wa gwatha rũrĩrĩ rũrũ rũnene.”
When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
8 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Hiramu agĩtũmana kũrĩ Solomoni, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ: “Nĩnyiitĩte ndũmĩrĩri ĩrĩa wandũmĩire, na nĩngwĩka ũrĩa wothe ũkwenda harĩ kũrehithia mĩgogo ya mĩtarakwa na ya mĩthengera.
Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
9 Andũ akwa nĩmekũmĩikũrũkia kuuma Lebanoni nginya iria-inĩ, na nĩngũmĩikũrũkia na iria yohanĩtio hamwe o nginya harĩa ũkuuga. Nĩngamĩohoranĩria hau, nawe ũmĩoe, ũthiĩ nayo. Nawe ũkĩĩhingĩrie wendi wakwa na ũndũ wa kũhe nyũmba yakwa ya ũthamaki irio.”
My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
10 Ũguo nĩguo Hiramu aathiire na mbere gũtwarĩra Solomoni mĩgogo ya mĩtarakwa na ya mĩthengera ĩrĩa endaga.
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
11 Nake Solomoni nĩaheaga Hiramu ngano ya kũrĩĩo gwake mũciĩ ya kori ngiri mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ, hamwe na mbathi ngiri mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ cia maguta ma mĩtamaiyũ mahihe wega. Solomoni agĩthiĩ na mbere gwĩka Hiramu ũguo mwaka o mwaka.
Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12 Jehova nĩaheire Solomoni ũũgĩ, o ta ũrĩa aamwĩrĩire. Na gũkĩgĩa na thayũ gatagatĩ ka Hiramu na Solomoni, nao eerĩ magĩthondeka kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa ũiguano.
Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
13 Mũthamaki Solomoni akĩandĩkithia aruti wĩra 30,000 na hinya kuuma Isiraeli guothe.
King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 Aamatũmaga marĩ ikundi cia andũ ngiri ikũmi o mweri, mathiĩ ituanĩra rĩa wĩra kũu Lebanoni; nĩ ũndũ ũcio magaikaraga mweri ũmwe Lebanoni, na mĩeri ĩĩrĩ kwao mũciĩ. Adoniramu nĩwe warĩ mũrũgamĩrĩri wa andũ acio marutithagio wĩra na hinya.
He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
15 Solomoni nĩ aarĩ na andũ 70,000 a gũkuua mĩrigo, na aicũhia a mahiga 80,000 kũu irĩma-inĩ,
Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,

besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.

The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18 Mabundi ma Solomoni, na ma Hiramu, na andũ a Gebali, nĩmarengire na makĩhaarĩria mbaũ o na mahiga nĩ ũndũ wa gwaka hekarũ.
Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
