< 1 Johana 4 >
1 Arata akwa endwa, mũtigetĩkagie roho o wothe, no mũroragie maroho muone kana moimĩte kũrĩ Ngai, tondũ anabii aingĩ a maheeni nĩmoimagarĩte magathiĩ thĩ yothe.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Ũũ nĩguo mũngĩhota gũkũũrana Roho wa Ngai: Roho o wothe ũrĩa uumbũraga atĩ Jesũ Kristũ nĩokĩte arĩ na mwĩrĩ, ũcio uumĩte kũrĩ Ngai,
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3 no roho o wothe ũrĩa ũtoimbũraga Jesũ, ũcio nduumĩte kũrĩ Ngai.
and every spirit who does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
4 Inyuĩ twana twakwa nyendete, inyuĩ mũrĩ a Ngai na nĩmũmatooretie, tondũ ũrĩa ũrĩ thĩinĩ wanyu nĩ mũnene gũkĩra ũrĩa ũrĩ gũkũ thĩ.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
6 Ithuĩ tuumĩte kũrĩ Ngai, nake mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũũĩ Ngai nĩatũthikagĩrĩria; no ũrĩa wothe ũtoimĩte kũrĩ Ngai ndatũthikagĩrĩria.
We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Arata akwa endwa, nĩtwendanagei mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ, nĩgũkorwo wendo uumaga kũrĩ Ngai. Mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa wendanaga, aciarĩtwo nĩ Ngai o na nĩoĩ Ngai.
Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũtendanaga ũcio ndooĩ Ngai, tondũ Ngai nĩ wendo.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 Ũũ nĩguo Ngai oonanirie wendo wake harĩ ithuĩ: Nĩatũmire Mũriũ wake, o we wa mũmwe, gũkũ thĩ nĩgeetha tũtũũre muoyo nĩ ũndũ wake.
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 Ũyũ nĩguo wendo: ti atĩ nĩ ithuĩ twendire Ngai, nowe nĩwe watwendire, na agĩtũma Mũriũ wake atuĩke igongona rĩa kũhoroheria mehia maitũ.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Arata akwa endwa, kuona atĩ Ngai nĩguo atwendete-rĩ, o na ithuĩ nĩtũkĩagĩrĩirwo twendanage.
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
12 Gũtirĩ mũndũ ũrĩ ona Ngai; no tũngĩendana mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ-rĩ, Ngai nĩatũũraga thĩinĩ witũ, naguo wendo wake ũgakinyanĩra thĩinĩ witũ.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
13 Ũndũ ũrĩa ũtũmaga tũmenye atĩ tũtũũraga thĩinĩ wake nake agatũũra thĩinĩ witũ, nĩ atĩ nĩatũheete Roho wake.
By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
15 Mũndũ o wothe angiumbũra atĩ Jesũ nĩ Mũrũ wa Ngai-rĩ, Ngai atũũraga thĩinĩ wake, nake agatũũra thĩinĩ wa Ngai.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.
16 Na nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩtũmenyete na tũkehoka wendo ũrĩa Ngai atwendete naguo. Ngai nĩ wendo. Mũndũ o wothe ũtũũraga endanĩte atũũraga thĩinĩ wa Ngai, nake Ngai atũũraga thĩinĩ wake.
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
17 Ũguo nĩguo wendani ũkinyanagĩra thĩinĩ witũ nĩgeetha tũkaagĩa na ũũmĩrĩru mũthenya ũrĩa gũgaatuanĩrwo ciira, tondũ tũrĩ gũkũ thĩ nĩ tũhaanaine nake.
In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world.
18 Wendo ndũrĩ guoya. No wendo ũrĩa mũkinyanĩru nĩũingataga guoya, tondũ guoya ũkonainie na iherithia. Mũndũ ũrĩa wĩtigagĩra, ndatuagwo mũkinyanĩru thĩinĩ wa wendo.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 Ithuĩ twendanaga tondũ we nĩwe waambire gũtwenda.
We love him, because he first loved us.
If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
21 Nake nĩatũheete rĩathani rĩĩrĩ: Mũndũ o wothe wendete Ngai, no nginya ende mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa ithe o nake.
This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
