< 1 Akorinitho 1 >

Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through God’s will, —and Sosthenes the brother, —
2 Twandĩkĩra kanitha wa Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ Korinitho, kũrĩ arĩa othe maamũrĩtwo thĩinĩ wa Kristũ Jesũ na magetwo matuĩke andũ atheru, o hamwe na arĩa othe marĩ kũndũ guothe makayagĩra rĩĩtwa rĩa Mwathani witũ Jesũ Kristũ, o we Mwathani wao na witũ:
Unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, —with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place, —their Lord and ours:
3 Wega na thayũ irogĩa kũrĩ inyuĩ ciumĩte kũrĩ Ngai Ithe witũ na Mwathani Jesũ Kristũ.
Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Nĩnjookagĩria Ngai ngaatho hĩndĩ ciothe nĩ ũndũ wanyu, nĩ ũndũ wa wega wake ũrĩa mũheetwo thĩinĩ wa Kristũ Jesũ.
I give thanks unto my God, at all times, concerning you, by reason of the favour of God given unto you in Christ Jesus, —
That, in everything, ye have been enriched in him—in all discourse and in all knowledge;
6 tondũ-rĩ, ũira witũ ũkoniĩ Kristũ nĩwekĩrirwo hinya thĩinĩ wanyu.
Even as, the witness of the Christ, hath been confirmed in you,
7 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio gũtirĩ kĩheo gĩa kĩĩroho o na kĩmwe mũtarĩ nakĩo, o mũgĩetagĩrĩra na kĩyo kũguũranĩrio kwa Mwathani witũ Jesũ Kristũ.
So that ye come short in no gift of favour, —ardently awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Nake nĩarĩmũikaragia mũrĩ na hinya nginya mũthia, nĩguo mũtikanakorwo mũrĩ na ũcuuke mũthenya ũrĩa wa Mwathani witũ Jesũ Kristũ.
Who will also confirm you unto the end, unaccusable in the day of our Lord Jesus [Christ]:
9 Ngai nĩ mwĩhokeku, o we ũrĩa wamwĩtire nĩguo mũkorwo na ngwatanĩro na Mũriũ Jesũ Kristũ, Mwathani witũ.
Faithful, is God, through whom ye have been called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Atĩrĩrĩ, inyuĩ ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, ndamũthaitha thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Mwathani witũ Jesũ Kristũ, atĩ inyuothe mũiguane o mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ, nĩguo mũtikagĩe na nyamũkano gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu, no mũikare mũiguanĩte, na mũrĩ na meciiria o mamwe, na ngoro o ĩmwe.
But I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, —that, the same thing, ye, all, be saying, and that there be not, among you, divisions; but that ye be fitly joined together—in the same mind, and in the same judgment.
11 Tondũ rĩĩrĩ ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, nĩmenyithĩtio nĩ andũ amwe a kuuma nyũmba ya Kiloe atĩ nĩ kũrĩ na ngũĩ gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu.
For it hath been signified unto me, concerning you, my brethren, —by them who are of [the household of] Chloe, —that there are strifes among you,
12 Ũrĩa ndĩroiga nĩ atĩrĩ: Ũmwe wanyu oigaga atĩ, “Niĩ nũmagĩrĩra Paũlũ”; ũngĩ akoiga atĩ, “Niĩ nũmagĩrĩra Apolo”; nake ũngĩ akoiga atĩ, “Niĩ nũmagĩrĩra Kefa”; o na ningĩ ũngĩ akoiga atĩ, “Niĩ nũmagĩrĩra Kristũ.”
Now I mean this, —that, each one of you, is saying—I, indeed, am of Paul, but, I, of Apollos, but, I, of Cephas, but, I, of Christ:
13 Kaĩ Kristũ agayanĩtio? Paũlũ-rĩ, nĩwe waambirwo mũtĩ igũrũ nĩ ũndũ wanyu? Mwabatithirio thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Paũlũ?
The Christ is divided! Was, Paul, crucified for you? Or, into the name of Paul, were ye immersed?
14 Nĩngũcookia ngaatho nĩ ũndũ gũtirĩ o na ũmwe wanyu niĩ ndaabatithirie, o tiga Kirisipo na Gayo.
I give thanks, that, none of you, did I immerse—save Crispus and Gaius,
15 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio gũtirĩ mũndũ o na ũmwe ũngiuga atĩ mwabatithirio thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩakwa.
Lest any should say—into my own name, I immersed:
16 Ĩĩ, o na ningĩ nĩndabatithirie andũ a nyũmba ya Stefana; no tiga acio, ndingĩririkana kana nĩ kũrĩ mũndũ ũngĩ ndaabatithirie.
Yea! I immersed the house of Stephanas also, —besides, I know not whether, anyone else, I immersed.
17 Nĩ gũkorwo Kristũ ndaandũmire ngabatithanie, no aandũmire ngahunjie Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega, no ti ndĩũheane na ũũgĩ wa mũndũ, nĩgeetha mũtharaba wa Kristũ ndũkae kwagithio kĩene.
For Christ sent me not, to be immersing, but to be telling the good news, —not with wisdom of discourse, lest, void should be made, the cross of the Christ.
18 Nĩgũkorwo ndũmĩrĩri ya mũtharaba nĩ ũrimũ kũrĩ arĩa maroora, no kũrĩ ithuĩ arĩa tũrahonokio-rĩ, ũndũ ũcio nĩ hinya wa Ngai.
For, the discourse which concerneth the cross, unto them, indeed, who are perishing, is, foolishness; but, unto them who are being saved—unto us, it is, God’s power.
19 Nĩgũkorwo kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ: “Ũũgĩ wa andũ arĩa oogĩ nĩkũniina ngaaũniina; naguo ũmenyo wa andũ arĩa imenyi ndĩkĩũtue wa tũhũ.”
For it is written—I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and, the discernment of the discerning, will I set aside.
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)
21 Nĩgũkorwo Ngai na ũndũ wa ũũgĩ wake nĩonire atĩ andũ a thĩ ĩno na ũũgĩ wao matikaamũmenya, akĩona kwagĩrĩire ahũthĩre maũndũ ma ũrimũ marĩa tũhunjagia nĩgeetha ahonokie arĩa mamwĩtĩkagia.
For, seeing that, in the wisdom of God, the world, through its wisdom, did not get to knew God, God was well-pleased—through the foolishness of the thing proclaimed, to save them that believe.
22 Ayahudi metagia ciama, nao Ayunani macaragia ũũgĩ,
Seeing that both, Jews for signs, do ask, and, Greeks for wisdom, do seek,
23 no ithuĩ tũhunjagia ũhoro wa Kristũ arĩ mwambe mũtĩ igũrũ: maũndũ macio nĩ mũhĩnga kũrĩ Ayahudi na ũrimũ kũrĩ andũ-a-Ndũrĩrĩ,
Whereas, we, proclaim a Christ who hath been crucified, —unto Jews, indeed, an occasion of stumbling, and, unto Gentiles, foolishness;
But, unto the called themselves—both Jews and Greeks, Christ, God’s power, and, God’s wisdom.
25 Nĩgũkorwo ũrimũ wa Ngai nĩ mũũgĩ gũkĩra ũũgĩ wa mũndũ, naguo ũhũthũ wa Ngai nĩ mũritũ gũkĩra hinya wa mũndũ.
Because, God’s foolish thing, is, wiser than men, and, God’s weak thing, mightier than men.
26 Ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ, ta gĩciiriei ũrĩa mwatariĩ rĩrĩa mwetirwo.
For be looking at the calling of you, brethren, —that [there were] not many wise, according to flesh. Not many powerful, not many high-born:
27 No Ngai aathuurire maũndũ marĩa ma ũrimũ ma thĩ ĩno nĩguo aconorithie andũ arĩa oogĩ; ningĩ Ngai aathuurire maũndũ marĩa matarĩ hinya ma thĩ ĩno nĩguo aconorithie arĩa marĩ hinya.
On the contrary—the foolish things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame them who are wise, and, the weak things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame the things that are mighty,
And, the low-born things of the world, and the things that are despised, hath God chosen, —[and] the things that are not, —that, the things that are, he might bring to nought;
So that no flesh should boast before God.
30 No rĩrĩ, nĩwe ũtũmĩte mũkorwo mũrĩ thĩinĩ wa Kristũ Jesũ, ũrĩa ũtuĩkĩte ũũgĩ uumĩte kũrĩ Ngai nĩ ũndũ witũ, ũguo nĩ kuuga, ũthingu witũ, na ũtheru, na gũkũũrwo.
But, of him, are, ye, in Christ Jesus, who hath been made wisdom unto us, from God, —both righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, o ta ũrĩa kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ: “Mũndũ ũrĩa ũkwĩraha, nĩerahage nĩ ũndũ wa Mwathani.”
In order that, even as it is written—He that boasteth, in the Lord, let him boast.
