< 1 Akorinitho 12 >
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Inyuĩ nĩmũũĩ atĩ hĩndĩ ĩrĩa mũteetĩkĩtie Ngai, nĩmwaguucagĩrĩrio na mũkerekerio kũrĩ mĩhianano ĩtangĩaria.
Ye know, that when ye were gentiles, ye were carried away to dumb idols, as ye happened to be led;
3 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ngũmwĩra atĩ, gũtirĩ mũndũ waragia ahotithĩtio nĩ Roho wa Ngai ũngiuga atĩrĩ, “Jesũ aronyiitwo nĩ kĩrumi,” na gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩhota kuuga atĩrĩ, “Jesũ nĩ Mwathani,” atatongoretio nĩ Roho Mũtheru.
wherefore I give you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God saith, Accursed be Jesus; and that no one can say, Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.
4 Na rĩrĩ, iheo iria iheanagwo nĩ mĩthemba mĩthemba, no Roho ũrĩa ũciheanaga no ũmwe.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit;
5 O na njĩra cia gũtungata nĩ mĩthemba mĩthemba, no Mwathani ũrĩa ũtungatagwo no ũmwe.
and there are diversities of services, but the same Lord;
6 Ningĩ kũrĩ mĩrutĩre ya wĩra mĩthemba mĩthemba, no Ngai no ũmwe ũrĩa ũhotithagia maũndũ mothe gwĩkĩka thĩinĩ wa andũ othe.
and there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all things in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the good of others.
8 Roho ũcio nĩwe ũheaga mũndũ ũmwe ndũmĩrĩri ya ũũgĩ, na ũngĩ akaheo ũmenyo nĩ Roho o ro ũcio,
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 nake ũngĩ akaheo wĩtĩkio nĩ Roho o ro ũcio, na ũngĩ akaheo iheo cia kũhonania nĩ Roho o ro ũcio,
to another faith, by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing, by the one Spirit;
to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 Maũndũ macio mothe nĩ wĩra wa Roho o ro ũcio ũmwe, nake agayagĩra o mũndũ o ũrĩa ekwenda.
But all these worketh the one and self-same Spirit, allotting to each one severally as it will.
12 Mwĩrĩ wa mũndũ nĩ ũmwe, o na gwatuĩka ũrĩ ciĩga nyingĩ; ningĩ o na gwatuĩka ciĩga ciaguo ciothe nĩ nyingĩ-rĩ, ciothe no mwĩrĩ o ũmwe. Ũguo noguo Kristũ atariĩ.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
13 Nĩgũkorwo ithuothe twabatithirio na Roho ũmwe tũgĩtuĩka a mwĩrĩ ũmwe, o na tũrĩ Ayahudi kana tũrĩ Ayunani, tũrĩ ngombo o na kana tũtarĩ ngombo, na ithuothe tũkĩnyuithio Roho o ro ũcio ũmwe.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or freemen; and were all made to drink one Spirit.
For the body also is not one member, but many.
15 Kũgũrũ kũngiuga atĩ, “Tondũ ti niĩ guoko-rĩ, ndirĩ wa mwĩrĩ ũyũ,” Ũndũ ũcio ndũngĩtũma gũtige gũtuĩka kĩĩga kĩa mwĩrĩ ũcio.
If the foot say, Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body, is it for this reason not of the body?
16 Nakuo gũtũ kũngiuga atĩ, “Tondũ ti niĩ riitho-rĩ, ndirĩ wa mwĩrĩ ũcio,” nĩ ũndũ wa gĩtũmi kĩu gũtingĩtiga gũtuĩka kĩĩga kĩa mwĩrĩ ũcio.
And if the ear say, Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body, is it for this reason not of the body?
17 Mwĩrĩ wothe ũngĩkorwo no riitho-rĩ, kũigua tũngĩiguaga na kĩ? Mwĩrĩ wothe ũngĩkorwo no gũtũ-rĩ, kũnungĩra tũngĩnungagĩra na kĩ?
If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 No ũrĩa kũrĩ, nĩ atĩ Ngai nĩ eekĩrire ciĩga ciothe thĩinĩ wa mwĩrĩ, agĩciĩkĩra o ta ũrĩa eendaga ciikare.
But as it is, God set the members every one of them in the body, as it pleased him.
19 Ciĩga ciothe ingĩtuĩka nĩ kĩĩga kĩmwe-rĩ, mwĩrĩ naguo ũngĩkorwo ha?
And if they were all one member, where would be the body?
20 Ũrĩa kũrĩ nĩ atĩ ciĩga nĩ nyingĩ, no mwĩrĩ nĩ ũmwe.
But now there are, indeed, many members, but one body.
21 Riitho rĩtingĩhota kwĩra guoko atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndirĩ na bata nawe!” Naguo mũtwe wĩre magũrũ atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndirĩ na bata na inyuĩ!”
And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee; nor, again, the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Handũ ha ũguo-rĩ, ciĩga cia mwĩrĩ iria cionekaga itarĩ hinya, nĩcio irĩ bata makĩria,
Nay, still more, those members of the body which seem to be weak, are necessary;
23 nacio ciĩga iria tuonaga ta itarĩ cia gũtĩĩo mũno-rĩ, nĩcio tũheaga gĩtĩĩo kĩa mwanya. Nacio ciĩga iria tuonaga ta itagĩrĩire kuoneka nĩimenyagĩrĩrwo mũno,
and what we think to be less honorable parts of the body, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our unseemly parts have more abundant seemliness;
24 o rĩrĩa ciĩga ciitũ iria itarĩ cia kũhithwo itabataragio nĩkũmenyererwo mũno. No Ngai nĩanyiitithanĩtie ciĩga cia mwĩrĩ na agatĩĩithia makĩria ciĩga iria ciagĩte gĩtĩĩo,
while our seemly parts have no need. But God so put the body together, as to give special honor to that part which lacked,
that there might be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 Kĩĩga kĩmwe kĩngĩnyariirĩka, ciĩga iria ingĩ inyariirĩkaga hamwe nakĩo; nakĩo kĩĩga kĩmwe kĩngĩheo gĩtĩĩo-rĩ, o nacio ciĩga iria ingĩ nĩikenaga hamwe nakĩo.
And so if one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members individually. And
28 Nakuo thĩinĩ wa kanitha, Ngai nĩathuurĩte mbere andũ amwe matuĩke atũmwo, a keerĩ anabii, a gatatũ arutani, o na ningĩ kũgĩe na aringi a ciama, o na arĩa marĩ na iheo cia kũhonania mĩrimũ, na arĩa marĩ na ũhoti wa gũteithia arĩa angĩ, na arĩa marĩ na iheo cia ũtabarĩri, na arĩa maaragia na thiomi mĩthemba mĩthemba.
God appointed some in the church to be, in the first place, apostles, in the second place, prophets, in the third place, teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, those of helping and of governing, divers kinds of tongues. Are all apostles?
29 Andũ othe nĩ atũmwo? Andũ othe nĩ anabii? Andũ othe nĩ arutani? Andũ othe nĩ aringi a ciama?
Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
30 Andũ othe nĩmaheetwo iheo cia kũhonania? Andũ othe nĩmakĩaragia na thiomi? Andũ othe nĩmagĩtaũraga thiomi?
Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
31 No rĩrĩ, mwĩriragĩriei iheo iria irĩ bata mũno. Na rĩu nĩngũmuonia njĩra ĩrĩa njega makĩria.
But desire earnestly the greater gifts. And furthermore I show you by far the most excellent way.
