And sons of Javan: Elisha, and Tarshishah, Kittim, and Dodanim.
8 Ariũ a Hamu maarĩ: Kushi, na Miziraimu, na Putu, na Kaanani.
Sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
9 Ariũ a Kushi maarĩ: Seba, na Havila, na Sabita, na Raama, na Sabiteka. Ariũ a Raama maarĩ: Sheba, na Dedani.
And sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecka. And sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
10 Kushi nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Nimurodi ũrĩa wakũrire agĩtuĩka njamba ya ita ĩrĩ hinya thĩinĩ wa thĩ.
And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the land.
11 Miziraimu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa andũ a Ludimu, na Anamini, na Lehabimu, na Nafituhimu,
And Mizraim begat the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
12 na Pathirusimu, na Kasuluhimu (nĩwe warĩ kĩhumo kĩa Afilisti), o na Kafitorimu.
and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from whom came out the Philistim), and the Caphtorim.
13 Kaanani nĩwe warĩ ithe wa
And Canaan begat Zidon his first born, and Heth,
14 Sidoni, mũriũ wake wa irigithathi, na Ahiti, na Ajebusi, na Aamori, na Agirigashi,
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

Sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.
18 Arafakasadi nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Shela, nake Shela aarĩ ithe wa Eberi.
And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.
19 Eberi aarĩ na ariũ eerĩ: Ũmwe eetagwo Pelegu, tondũ hĩndĩ yake nĩrĩo thĩ yagayũkanirio; na mũrũ wa nyina eetagwo Jokitani.
And to Eber have been born two sons, the name of the one [is] Peleg, for in his days hath the land been divided, and the name of his brother is Joktan.
20 Jokitani nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Alimodadi, na Shelefu, na Hazarimavethu, na Jera,
And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
21 na Hadoramu, na Uzali, na Dikila,
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
22 na Ebali, na Abimaeli, na Sheba,
and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
23 na Ofiri, na Havila, na Jobabu. Acio othe maarĩ ariũ a Jokitani.
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan.
24 Shemu, na Arafakasadi, na Shela,
Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,
25 na Eberi, na Pelegu, na Reu,
Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26 na Serugu, na Nahoru, na Tera,
Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27 na Aburamu (na nĩwe Iburahĩmu).
Abram — he [is] Abraham.
28 Ariũ a Iburahĩmu maarĩ: Isaaka na Ishumaeli.
Sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

These [are] their generations: first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, and Adheel, and Mibsam,
30 na Mishima, na Duma, na Masa, na Hadadi, na Tema,
Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,
31 na Jeturu, na Nafishu, na Kedema. Acio nĩo maarĩ ariũ a Ishumaeli.
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedema. These are sons of Ishmael.
32 Ariũ a Ketura, ũrĩa warĩ thuriya ya Iburahĩmu, maarĩ: Zimirani, na Jokishani, na Medani, na Midiani, na Ishibaku, na Shua. Ariũ a Jokishani maarĩ: Sheba na Dedani.
And sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.
33 Ariũ a Midiani maarĩ: Efa, na Eferi, na Hanoku, na Abida, na Elidaa. Acio othe maarĩ a rũciaro rwa Ketura.
And sons of Midian: Ephah and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah; all these [are] sons of Keturah.
34 Iburahĩmu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Isaaka. Ariũ a Isaaka maarĩ: Esaũ na Isiraeli.
And Abraham begetteth Isaac. Sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
35 Ariũ a Esaũ maarĩ: Elifazu, na Reueli, na Jeushu, na Jalamu, na Kora.
Sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
36 Ariũ a Elifazu maarĩ: Temani, na Omari, na Zefi, na Gatamu, na Kenazu; na Amaleki, ũrĩa waciarirwo nĩ Timina.
Sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.
37 Ariũ a Reueli maarĩ: Nahathu, na Zera, na Shama, na Miza.
Sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38 Ariũ a Seiru maarĩ: Lotani, na Shobali, na Zibeoni, na Ana, na Dishoni, na Ezeri, na Dishani.
And sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezar, and Dishan.
39 Ariũ a Lotani maarĩ: Hori na Homamu. Nake Timina aarĩ mwarĩ wa nyina na Lotani.
And sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam, and sister of Lotan [is] Timna.
40 Ariũ a Shobali maarĩ: Alivani, na Manahathu, na Ebali, na Shefo, na Onamu. Ariũ a Zibeoni maarĩ: Aia na Ana.
Sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And sons of Zideon: Aiah and Anah.
41 Mũriũ wa Ana aarĩ: Dishoni. Ariũ a Dishoni maarĩ: Hemudani, na Eshibani, na Ithirani, na Kerani.
The sons of Anah: Dishon. and sons of Dishon: Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
42 Ariũ a Ezeri maarĩ: Bilihani, na Zaavani, na Akani. Ariũ a Dishani maarĩ: Uzu, na Arani.
Sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zavan, Jakan. Sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
43 Nao aya nĩo maarĩ athamaki arĩa maathamakaga Edomu mbere ya Isiraeli gũthamakĩrwo nĩ mũthamaki o na ũmwe: Nĩ Bela mũrũ wa Beori, narĩo itũũra rĩake inene rĩetagwo Dinihaba.
And these [are] the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king of the sons of Israel: Bela son of Beor, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah.
44 Rĩrĩa Bela aakuire, Jobabu mũrũ wa Zera wa kuuma Bozira agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake.
And Bela dieth, and reign in his stead doth Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrali;
45 Rĩrĩa Jobabu aakuire, Hushamu wa kuuma bũrũri wa Atemani agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake.
and Jobab dieth, and reign in his stead doth Husham from the land of the Temanite;
46 Rĩrĩa Hushamu aakuire, Hadadi mũrũ wa Bedadi ũrĩa wahootire Midiani kũu bũrũri wa Moabi, agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake. Itũũra rĩake inene rĩetagwo Avithu.
and Husham dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad, son of Bedad (who smiteth Midian in the field of Moab) and the name of his city [is] Avith;
47 Rĩrĩa Hadadi aakuire, Samala wa kuuma Masereka agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake.
and Hadad dieth, and reign in his stead doth Samlah from Masrekah;
48 Rĩrĩa Samala aakuire, Shauli wa kuuma Rehobothu kũu gũkuhĩ na Rũũĩ rwa Farati, agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake.
and Samlah dieth, and reign in his stead doth Shaul from Rehoboth of the River;
49 Rĩrĩa Shauli aakuire, Baali-Hanani mũrũ wa Akibori agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake.
and Shaul dieth, and reign in his stead doth Baal-Hanan son of Achbor;
50 Rĩrĩa Baali-Hanani aakuire, Hadadi agĩtuĩka mũthamaki ithenya rĩake. Itũũra rĩake inene rĩetagwo Pau, na mũtumia wake eetagwo Mehetabeli mwarĩ wa Matiredi, ũrĩa warĩ mwarĩ wa Me-Zahabu.
and Baal-Hanan dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad, and the name of his city [is] Pai, and the name of his wife [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab; Hadad also dieth.
51 Hadadi o nake agĩkua. Anene a Edomu maarĩ:
And chiefs of Edom are: chief Timnah, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,
52 Timina, na Aliva, na Jethethu, na Oholibama, na Ela, na Pinoni,
chief Aholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
53 na Kenazu, na Temani, na Mibizaru,
chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
54 na Magidieli, na Iramu. Acio nĩo maarĩ anene a Edomu.
chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These [are] chiefs of Edom.
