1 Andũ a Isiraeli othe nĩmandĩkĩtwo maandĩko-inĩ ma njiarwa marĩa maarĩ mbuku-inĩ ya athamaki a Isiraeli. Andũ a Juda nĩmatahĩtwo magatwarwo Babuloni nĩ ũndũ wa kwaga kwĩhokeka.
So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they [were] written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, [who] were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
2 Na rĩrĩ, andũ arĩa maambire gũcooka gũikara mĩgũnda-inĩ yao o kũu matũũra-inĩ mao, maarĩ andũ amwe a Isiraeli, na athĩnjĩri-Ngai, na Alawii, na ndungata cia hekarũ.
Now the first inhabitants that [dwelt] in their possessions in their cities [were], the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.
3 Andũ arĩa maatũũraga Jerusalemu kuuma Juda, na Benjamini, na Efiraimu, na Manase maarĩ:
And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh;
4 Uthai mũrũ wa Amihudu, mũrũ wa Omuri, mũrũ wa Imuri, mũrũ wa Bani wa rũciaro rwa Perezu mũrũ wa Juda.
Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.
5 Andũ a Shiloni maarĩ: Asaia ũrĩa warĩ irigithathi, na ariũ ake.
And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
6 Kuuma Zera aarĩ: Jeueli. Andũ othe a kuuma Juda maarĩ 690.
And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
7 Andũ a Benjamini maarĩ: Salu mũrũ wa Meshulamu, mũrũ wa Hodavia, mũrũ wa Hasenua;
And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,
8 na Ibineia mũrũ wa Jerohamu; Ela mũrũ wa Uzi, mũrũ wa Mikiri; na Meshulamu mũrũ wa Shefatia, mũrũ wa Reueli, mũrũ wa Ibinija.
And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9 Andũ a kuuma Benjamini, ta ũrĩa maandĩkĩtwo maandĩko-inĩ ma njiarwa ciao, maarĩ 956. Arũme acio othe maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao.
And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men [were] chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.
10 Athĩnjĩri-Ngai maarĩ: Jedaia, na Jehoiaribu, na Jakini;
And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin,
11 na Azaria mũrũ wa Hilikia, mũrũ wa Meshulamu, mũrũ wa Zadoku, mũrũ wa Meraiothu, mũrũ wa Ahitubu ũrĩa warĩ mũmenyereri mũnene wa nyũmba ya Ngai;
And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
12 na Adaia mũrũ wa Jerohamu, mũrũ wa Pashuru, mũrũ wa Malikija; na Maasai mũrũ wa Adieli, mũrũ wa Jahazera, mũrũ wa Meshulamu, mũrũ wa Meshilemithu, mũrũ wa Imeri.
And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13 Athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao maarĩ 1,760. Maarĩ arũme maarĩ na ũhoti, na nĩ meehokeirwo gũtungata nyũmba-inĩ ya Ngai.
And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14 Alawii maarĩ: Shemaia mũrũ wa Hashubu, mũrũ wa Azirikamu, mũrũ wa Hashabia ũrĩa Mũmerari,
And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
15 na Bakabakari, na Hereshi, na Galali, na Matania mũrũ wa Mika, mũrũ wa Zikiri, mũrũ wa Asafu;
And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16 na Obadia mũrũ wa Shemaia, mũrũ wa Galali, mũrũ wa Jeduthuni; na Berekia mũrũ wa Asa, mũrũ wa Elikana, arĩa maaikaraga matũũra-inĩ ma Anetofathi.
And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Arangĩri a ihingo maarĩ: Shalumu, na Akubu, na Talimoni, na Ahimani na ariũ a nyina, na Shalumu mũnene wao,
And the porters [were], Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum [was] the chief;
18 acio maigĩtwo kĩhingo-inĩ kĩa mũthamaki mwena wa irathĩro, nginya ihinda-inĩ rĩu. Acio nĩo maarĩ arangĩri a ihingo a gĩkundi kĩa Alawii.
Who hitherto [waited] in the king’s gate eastward: they [were] porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
19 Shalumu mũrũ wa Kore, mũrũ wa Ebiasafu, mũrũ wa Kora, na athiritũ ake arangĩri a ihingo kuuma nyũmba yake ya Akohathu. Acio nĩo meehokeirwo ũrangĩri wa itoonyero rĩa hema o ta ũrĩa maithe mao meehokeirwo ũrangĩri wa itoonyero rĩa Gĩikaro kĩa Jehova.
And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, [were] over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, [being] over the host of the LORD, [were] keepers of the entry.
20 Mahinda ma mbere Finehasi mũrũ wa Eleazaru nĩwe warũgamagĩrĩra arangĩri a ihingo, nake Jehova aarĩ hamwe nake.
And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, [and] the LORD [was] with him.
21 Zekaria mũrũ wa Meshelemia nĩwe warĩ mũrangĩri wa itoonyero rĩa Hema-ya-Gũtũnganwo.
[And] Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah [was] porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22 Arĩa othe maathuurĩtwo matuĩke arangĩri a ihingo maarĩ 212. Marĩĩtwa mao nĩmandĩkirwo maandĩko-inĩ ma njiarwa ciao, matũũra-inĩ mao. Arangĩri a ihingo maigirwo o mũndũ harĩa ehokeirwo nĩ Daudi na Samũeli ũrĩa muoni-maũndũ.
All these [which were] chosen to be porters in the gates [were] two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.
23 O ene na njiaro ciao nĩo maarũgamagĩrĩra ũrangĩri wa ihingo cia nyũmba ya Jehova, nyũmba ĩrĩa yetagwo Hema.
So they and their children [had] the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, [namely], the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
24 Arangĩri a ihingo maarĩ mĩena yothe ĩna: irathĩro, na ithũĩro, na gathigathini, na gũthini.
In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
25 Ariũ a ithe wao a matũũra mao nĩmookaga rĩmwe na rĩmwe magateithania mawĩra nao ihinda rĩa mĩthenya mũgwanja.
And their brethren, [which were] in their villages, [were] to come after seven days from time to time with them.
26 No anene arĩa ana maaroraga arangĩri a ihingo, arĩa maarĩ Alawii, nĩmehokeirwo kũmenyerera tũnyũmba na igĩĩna cia nyũmba ya Ngai.
For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in [their] set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.
27 Maikaraga ũtukũ wothe hakuhĩ na nyũmba ya Ngai nĩgeetha mamĩrangagĩre; na nĩo maamenyagĩrĩra cabi ya kũmĩhingũra o rũciinĩ.
And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge [was] upon them, and the opening thereof every morning [pertained] to them.
28 Amwe ao maarĩ amenyereri a indo iria ciatũmagĩrwo ũtungata-inĩ wa hekarũ; nĩmacitaraga ikĩrutwo na igĩcookio nyũmba thĩinĩ.
And [certain] of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.
29 Angĩ maaheetwo wĩra wa kũmenyerera indo cia nyũmba na indo iria ingĩ ciothe ciakoragwo handũ-harĩa-haamũre, o hamwe na mũtu, na ndibei, na maguta, na ũbani, na mahuti marĩa manungi wega.
[Some] of them also [were] appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
30 No athĩnjĩri-Ngai amwe nĩo maarutaga wĩra wa gũtukania mahuti macio manungi wega.
And [some] of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.
31 Mũlawii wetagwo Matithia, irigithathi rĩa Shalumu ũrĩa Mũkoora, nĩwe wehokeirwo wĩra wa gũthondeka mĩgate ya maruta.
And Mattithiah, [one] of the Levites, who [was] the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.
32 Ariũ a ithe amwe ao a mũhĩrĩga wa Kohathu nĩo marũgamagĩrĩra ũthondeki wa mĩgate ya kũigĩrĩrwo metha-inĩ hĩndĩ ya thabatũ.
And [other] of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, [were] over the shewbread, to prepare [it] every sabbath.
33 Arĩa maarĩ aini, na atongoria a nyũmba cia Alawii, maaikaraga tũnyũmba-inĩ kũu hekarũ thĩinĩ na matiarutaga mawĩra mangĩ tondũ maarĩ a kũmenyerera wĩra ũcio wao mũthenya na ũtukũ.
And these [are] the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, [who remaining] in the chambers [were] free: for they were employed in [that] work day and night.
34 Acio othe maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba cia Alawii, na anene o ta ũrĩa maandĩkĩtwo ibuku-inĩ rĩa njiarwa ciao, nao maatũũraga Jerusalemu.
These chief fathers of the Levites [were] chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
35 Jeieli ithe wa Gibeoni aatũũraga Gibeoni. Mũtumia wake eetagwo Maaka,
And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife’s name [was] Maachah:
36 na mũriũ wake wa irigithathi eetagwo Abidoni, akarũmĩrĩrwo nĩ Zuru, na Kishu, na Baali, na Neri, na Nadabu,
And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,
37 na Gedori, na Ahio, na Zekaria, na Mikilothu.
And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Mikilothu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Shimeami. O nao maikaraga hakuhĩ na andũ ao kũu Jerusalemu.
And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
39 Neri aarĩ ithe wa Kishu, nake Kishu aarĩ ithe wa Saũlũ, nake Saũlũ aarĩ ithe wa Jonathani, na Maliki-Shua, na Abinadabu, na Eshi-Baali.
And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi-shua, and Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
40 Mũriũ wa Jonathani eetagwo Meribu-Baali, na nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Mika.
And the son of Jonathan [was] Merib-baal: and Merib-baal begat Micah.
41 Ariũ a Mika maarĩ: Pithoni, na Meleku, na Taharea, na Ahazu.
And the sons of Micah [were], Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, [and Ahaz].
42 Ahazu aarĩ ithe wa Jara, nake Jara aarĩ ithe wa Alemethu, na Azimavethu, na Zimuri, nake Zimuri aarĩ ithe wa Moza.
And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;
43 Moza aarĩ ithe wa Binea, nake Refaia aarĩ mũriũ wa Binea, nake Eleasa aarĩ mũriũ wa Refaia, nake Azeli aarĩ mũriũ wa Eleasa.
And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
44 Azeli aarĩ na ariũ atandatũ, na maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa mao: Azirikamu, na Bokeru, na Ishumaeli, na Shearia, na Obadia, na Hanani. Acio nĩo maarĩ ariũ a Azeli.
And Azel had six sons, whose names [are] these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these [were] the sons of Azel.
