and Ahitub became the father of Zadok, and Zadok became the father of Ahimaaz,

9 na Ahimaazu nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Azaria, na Azaria nĩwe warĩ ithe wa Johanani,

and Ahimaaz became the father of Azariah, and Azariah became the father of Johanan,

and Johanan became the father of Azariah, (he it is who executed the priest's office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem),

and Azariah became the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah became the father of Jehozadak;

15 Jehozadaku nĩathaamirio hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jehova aarekereirie andũ a Juda na a Jerusalemu matahwo nĩ Nebukadinezaru.

Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma ariũ a Gerishoni: Libini na Shimei.

These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Ariũ a Kohathu maarĩ: Amuramu, na Iziharu, na Hebironi, na Uzieli.

The sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Alawii arĩa maarĩ a thiritũ yao maagaĩirwo mawĩra marĩa mangĩ mothe ma hema ĩrĩa nyamũre, o ĩyo nyũmba ya Ngai.

Their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

Now these are their dwelling places according to their encampments in their borders: to the descendants of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),

To the descendants of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron; Libnah also with its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,

58 na Hileni, na Debiri,

and Hilen with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs,

59 na Ashani, na Juta, na Bethi-Shemeshu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

and Ashan with its suburbs, and Juttah with its suburbs, and Beth Shemesh with its suburbs;

60 Na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Benjamini maaheirwo Gibeoni, na Geba, na Alemethu, na Anathothu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo. Matũũra marĩa maagaĩirwo mĩhĩrĩga ya Akohathu mothe maarĩ ikũmi na matatũ.

and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs, and Allemeth with its suburbs, and Anathoth with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61 Njiaro icio ingĩ cia Kohathu ciaheirwo matũũra ikũmi, kuuma kũrĩ nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase.

To the rest of the descendants of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.

62 Njiaro cia Gerishoni, mbarĩ o mbarĩ ciagaĩirwo matũũra ikũmi na matatũ kuuma kũrĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Isakaru, na wa Asheri, na wa Nafitali, na kuuma kũrĩ gĩcunjĩ kĩa mũhĩrĩga wa Manase ũrĩa ũrĩ Bashani.

To the descendants of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Njiaro cia Merari, mbarĩ o mbarĩ, ciagaĩirwo matũũra ikũmi na meerĩ kuuma kũrĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Rubeni, na wa Gadi, na wa Zebuluni.

To the descendants of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ a Isiraeli makĩhe Alawii matũũra macio na ũrĩithio wamo.

The children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their suburbs.

65 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Juda, na wa Simeoni, na wa Benjamini makĩmahe matũũra macio magwetetwo.

They gave by lot out of the tribe of the descendants of Judah, and out of the tribe of the people of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the people of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 Mbarĩ imwe cia Akohathu ciaheirwo matũũra nĩ mũhĩrĩga wa Efiraimu matuĩke bũrũri wao.

Some of the families of the descendants of Kohath, of the Levites, even the rest of the descendants of Kohath, had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Kuuma bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ irĩma wa Efiraimu maaheirwo Shekemu (itũũra rĩa kũũrĩra), na Gezeri,

They gave to them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its suburbs; Gezer also with its suburbs,

68 na Jokimeamu, na Bethi-Horoni,

and Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth Horon with its suburbs,

69 na Aijaloni, na Gathi-Rimoni, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

and Aijalon with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon with its suburbs;

70 Na kuuma nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase-rĩ, andũ a Isiraeli makĩheana matũũra ma Aneri na Bileamu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo, kũrĩ mbarĩ iria ingĩ cia Akohathu.

and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its suburbs, and Ibleam with its suburbs, for the rest of the family of the descendants of Kohath.

71 Agerishoni maagaĩirwo matũũra maya: Kuuma nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase makĩheo Golani kũu Bashani, o na Ashitarothu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

To the descendants of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;

72 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Isakaru makĩheo Kadeshi, na Daberathu,

and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,

73 na Ramothu, na Anemu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

and Ramoth with its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;

74 Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Asheri makĩheo Mashali, na Abidoni,

and out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon with its suburbs,

75 na Hukoku, na Rehobu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

and Hukok with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;

76 Na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Nafitali makĩheo Kedeshi kũu Galili, na Hamoni, na Kiriathaimu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, and Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim with its suburbs.

77 Amerari (Alawii arĩa angĩ) maagaĩirwo matũũra maya: Kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Zebuluni makĩheo Jokineamu, na Karita, na Rimono, na Taboru, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

To the rest of the Levites, the descendants of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its suburbs, Rimmon with its suburbs, and Tabor with its suburbs, and Nahalal with its suburbs.

78 kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Rubeni mũrĩmo wa Jorodani mwena wa irathĩro wa Jeriko, makĩheo Bezeri werũ-inĩ, na Jahaza,

And beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs,

79 na Kedemothu, na Mefaathu, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo;

and Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;

80 na kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Gadi makĩheo Ramothu o kũu Gileadi, na Mahanaimu,

and out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

81 na Heshiboni, na Jazeri, hamwe na ũrĩithio wamo.

and Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
