1 Ariũ a Rubeni ũrĩa irigithathi rĩa Isiraeli (nĩwe warĩ irigithathi, no rĩrĩa aathaahirie ũrĩrĩ wa ithe, ũrigithathi wake waheirwo ariũ a Jusufu mũrũ wa Isiraeli; nĩ ũndũ ũcio, ndangĩandĩkirwo maandĩko-inĩ ma njiarwa kũringana na ũrigithathi wake,
As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel — for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father hath his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright,
2 o na gũtuĩka Juda nĩwe warĩ hinya gũkĩra ariũ a ithe, na mũtongoria oimĩte gwake-rĩ, ũrigithathi watuĩkire wa Jusufu);
for Judah hath been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph.
3 ariũ a Rubeni, irigithathi rĩa Isiraeli, maarĩ: Hanoku, na Palu, na Hezironi, na Karimi.
Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 Njiaro cia Joeli ciarĩ: Mũriũ Shemaia, na mũriũ Gogu, na mũriũ Shimei,
Sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 na mũriũ Mika, na mũriũ Reaia, na mũriũ Baali,
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 na mũriũ Beera, ũrĩa watahirwo agĩthaamio nĩ Tigilathu-Pileseru mũthamaki wa Ashuri. Beera nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wa andũ a Rubeni.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur removed; he [is] prince of the Reubenite.
7 Andũ ao kũringana na mbarĩ ciao, mandĩkĩtwo kũringana na maandĩko ma njiarwa ciao maarĩ aya: Jeieli ũrĩa mũnene, na Zekaria,
And his brethren, by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, [are] heads: Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8 na Bela mũrũ wa Azazi, mũrũ wa Shema, mũrũ wa Joeli. Maatũũraga rũgongo rũrĩa ruumĩte Aroeri nginya Nebo na Baali-Meoni.
and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel — he is dwelling in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-Meon;
9 Maikarire bũrũri mwena wa irathĩro nginya rũteere-inĩ rwa werũ ũrĩa ũtambũrũkĩte nginya Rũũĩ rwa Farati, tondũ mahiũ mao nĩmaingĩhire mũno marĩ kũu Gileadi.
and at the east he dwelt even unto the entering in of the wilderness, even from the river Phrat, for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 Hĩndĩ ya wathani wa Saũlũ nĩmarũire na Ahagari, na makĩmahoota; nao makĩĩnyiitĩra ciikaro cia Ahagari acio rũgongo-inĩ ruothe rwa mwena wa irathĩro wa Gileadi.
And in the days of Saul they have made war with the Hagarites, who fall by their hand, and they dwell in their tents over all the face of the east of Gilead.
11 Nao andũ a Gadi maatũũire mariganĩtie na andũ a Rubeni kũu bũrũri wa Bashani, o nginya Saleka:
And the sons of Gad, over-against them have dwelt in the land of Bashan unto Salcah,
12 Joeli nĩwe warĩ mũnene kũu Bashani, mũnini wake aarĩ Shafamu, akarũmĩrĩrwo nĩ Janai, na Shafati.
Joel the head, and Shapham the second, and Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan;
13 Andũ ao kũringana na nyũmba ciao maarĩ: Mikaeli, na Meshulamu, na Sheba, na Jorai, na Jakani, na Zia, na Eberi, othe maarĩ andũ mũgwanja.
and their brethren of the house of their fathers [are] Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14 Acio nĩo maarĩ ariũ a Abihaili mũrũ wa Huru, mũrũ wa Jaroa, mũrũ wa Gileadi, mũrũ wa Mikaeli, mũrũ wa Jeshishai, mũrũ wa Jahido, mũrũ wa Buzi.
These [are] sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz;
15 Ahi mũrũ wa Abidieli, mũrũ wa Guni nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wa nyũmba yao.
Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, [is] head of the house of their fathers;
16 Nao andũ a Gadi maatũũraga Gileadi, kũu Bashani na matũũra-inĩ marĩa maakuhĩrĩirie kuo, o na kũrĩa guothe ũrĩithio wa Sharoni wakinyĩte.
and they dwell in Gilead in Bashan, and in her small towns, and in all suburbs of Sharon, upon their outskirts;
17 Ũhoro ũyũ wothe nĩ wandĩkirwo maandĩko-inĩ ma njiarwa ciao hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jothamu mũthamaki wa Juda na Jeroboamu mũthamaki wa Isiraeli maathamakaga.
all of them reckoned themselves by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Andũ a Rubeni, na a Gadi, na nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase, maarĩ na andũ 44,760 mehaarĩirie gũthiĩ mbaara-inĩ: andũ marĩ na hinya wa mwĩrĩ, na mangĩahotire kũhũthĩra ngo, na rũhiũ rwa njora, na mooĩ gũikia mĩguĩ na ũta, na maarutĩtwo kũrũa mbaara.
Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, [are] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host.
19 Nao makĩhithũkĩra Ahagari, na Ajeturi, na Anafishi, na Anodabu.
And they make war with the Hagarites, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab,
20 Nĩmateithirio kũmahũũra, nake Ngai akĩneana Ahagari moko-inĩ mao, marĩ hamwe na arĩa othe maamateithagia, tondũ nĩmamũkaĩire marĩ mbaara-inĩ. Nĩamacookeirie mahooya mao, nĩ ũndũ nĩmamwĩhokete.
and they are helped against them, and the Hagarites are given into their hand, and all who [are] with them, for they cried to God in battle, and He was entreated of them, because they trusted in Him.
21 Magĩtaha mahiũ ma Ahagari acio: ngamĩĩra 50,000, na ngʼondu 250,000, na ndigiri 2,000, ningĩ nĩmatahire andũ 100,000,
And they take captive their cattle, of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings a hundred thousand;
22 na angĩ aingĩ makĩũragwo, tondũ Ngai nĩwe wamarũagĩrĩra. Nao magĩikara bũrũri ũcio o nginya hĩndĩ ĩrĩa maatahirwo rĩngĩ.
for many have fallen pierced, for of God [is] the battle; and they dwell in their stead till the removal.
23 Andũ a nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase maarĩ aingĩ mũno; maatũũrire bũrũri ũcio kuuma Bashani nginya Baali-Herimoni, ũguo nĩ kuuga nginya Seniru (nĩkĩo Kĩrĩma kĩa Herimoni).
And the sons of the half of the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-Hermon, and Senir, and mount Hermon, they have multiplied.
24 Aya nĩo maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao: Eferi, na Ishi, na Elieli, na Azirieli, na Jeremia, na Hodavia, na Jahadieli. Maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao, na njamba cia ita, na andũ marĩ igweta.
And these [are] heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, men mighty in valour, men of name, heads to the house of their fathers.
25 No matiarĩ ehokeku harĩ Ngai wa maithe mao, tondũ nĩmeheanĩte kũrĩ ngai cia andũ a bũrũri ũcio, arĩa Ngai aaniinĩte mehere mbere yao.
And they trespass against the God of their fathers, and go a-whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land whom God destroyed from their presence;
26 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Ngai wa Isiraeli akĩarahũra roho wa Puli mũthamaki wa Ashuri (ũguo nĩ kuuga Tigilathu-Pileseru, mũthamaki wa Ashuri), ũrĩa watahire andũ a Rubeni, na andũ a Gadi, na nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase, akĩmatwara ithaamĩrio. Akĩmathaamĩria Hala, na Habori, na Hara, na rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Gozani, kũrĩa matũire nginya ũmũthĩ.
and stir up doth the God of Israel the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur, and he removeth them — even the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh — and bringeth them in to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan unto this day.
