1 Daudi aarĩkia gwaka nyũmba ciake mwene kũu Itũũra Inene rĩa Daudi, nĩahaarĩirie handũ ha kũiga ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai, na akĩrĩambĩra hema.
He made also houses for himself in the city of David: and built a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tabernacle for it.
2 Ningĩ Daudi akiuga atĩrĩ, “Gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩ wagĩrĩirwo nĩ gũkuua ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai tiga o Alawii, tondũ nĩo Jehova aathuurire makuuage ithandũkũ rĩu rĩa Jehova na mamũtungatagĩre nginya tene.”
Then David said: No one ought to carry the ark of God, but the Levites, whom the Lord hath chosen to carry it, and to minister unto himself for ever.
3 Daudi nĩacookanĩrĩirie andũ othe a Isiraeli hamwe kũu Jerusalemu nĩguo marehe ithandũkũ rĩa Jehova handũ harĩa aarĩthondekeire.
And he gathered all Israel together into Jerusalem, that the ark of God might be brought into its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 Nĩacookanĩrĩirie njiaro cia Harũni na Alawii ta ũũ:
And the sons of Aaron also, and the Levites.

Of the sons of Merari, Asaia the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty.
7 kuuma kũrĩ njiaro cia Gerishoni, Joeli nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria, na andũ a nyũmba yao 130;
Of the sons of Gersom, Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty.
8 kuuma kũrĩ njiaro cia Elizafani, Shemaia nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria, na andũ a nyũmba yao 200;
Of the sons of Elisaphan, Semeias the chief: and his brethren two hundred.
9 kuuma kũrĩ njiaro cia Hebironi, Elieli nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria, na andũ a nyũmba yao 80;
Of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief: and his brethren eighty.
10 kuuma kũrĩ njiaro cia Uzieli, Aminadabu nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria, na andũ a nyũmba yao 112.
Of the sons of Oziel, Aminadab the chief: and his brethren a hundred and twelve.
11 Ningĩ Daudi agĩĩta Zadoku na Abiatharu arĩa athĩnjĩri-Ngai, na Urieli, na Asaia, na Joeli, na Shemaia, na Elieli, na Aminadabu arĩa Alawii.
And David called Sadoc, and Abiathar the priests, and the Levites, Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliel, and Aminadab:
12 Akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Nĩ inyuĩ anene a nyũmba cia Alawii; inyuĩ ene na Alawii arĩa angĩ no nginya mwĩtherie na mwambatie ithandũkũ rĩa Jehova Ngai wa Isiraeli nginya handũ harĩa ndĩrĩthondekeire.
And he said to them: You that are the heads of the Levitical families, be sanctified with your brethren, and brine the ark of the Lord the God of Israel to the place, which is prepared for it:
13 Nĩ ũndũ inyuĩ, Alawii, mũtiarĩambatirie ihinda rĩa mbere, nĩkĩo Jehova Ngai witũ aatũũkĩrĩire na marakara. Tũtiigana gũtuĩria ũhoro wa ũrĩa tũngĩekire kũrĩ we, kũringana na ũrĩa gwatuĩtwo.”
Lest as the Lord at first struck us, because you were not present, the same should now also come to pass, by our doing some thing against the law.
14 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, athĩnjĩri-Ngai na Alawii magĩĩtheria nĩgeetha maambatie ithandũkũ rĩa Jehova, Ngai wa Isiraeli.
So the priests and the Levites were sanctified, to carry the ark of the Lord the God of Israel.
15 Nao Alawii magĩkuua ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai na mĩtĩ mĩraaya mamĩigĩrĩire ciande, o ta ũrĩa Musa aathanĩte kũringana na kiugo kĩa Jehova.
And the sons of Levi took the ark of God as Moses had commanded, according to the word of the Lord, upon their shoulders, with the staves.
16 Daudi akĩĩra atongoria a Alawii mathuure ariũ a ithe wao matuĩke aini, nao maine nyĩmbo cia gĩkeno makĩhũũraga inanda cia kĩnũbi, na cia mũgeeto, na thaani iria ihũũrithanagio ikagamba.
And David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites, to appoint some of their brethren to be singers with musical instruments, to wit, on psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, that the joyful noise might resound on high.
17 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Alawii magĩthuura Hemani mũrũ wa Joeli; kuuma harĩ ariũ a ithe, na magĩthuura Asafu mũrũ wa Berekia; na kuuma harĩ ariũ a ithe Amerari magĩthuura Ethani mũrũ wa Kushaia;
And they appointed Levites, Hemam the son of Joel, and of his brethren Asaph the son of Barachias: and of the sons of Merari, their brethren: Ethan the son of Casaia.
18 na ningĩ hamwe nao magĩthuura ariũ a ithe matuĩke anini ao wathani-inĩ. nao nĩ: Zekaria, na Jaazieli, na Shemiramothu, na Jehieli, na Uni, na Eliabu, na Benaia, na Maaseia, na Matithia, na Elifelehu, na Mikineia, na Obedi-Edomu, na Jeieli, arĩa arangĩri ihingo.
And with them their brethren: in the second rank, Zacharias, and Ben, and Jaziel, and Semiramoth, and Jahiel, and Ani, and Eliab, and Banaias, and Maasias, and Mathathias, and Eliphalu, and Macenias, and Obededom, and Jehiel, the porters.
19 Hemani, na Asafu na Ethani maarĩ aini na maahũũrithanagia thaani cia gĩcango;
Now the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounded with cymbals of brass.
20 Zekaria, na Azieli, na Shemiramothu, na Jehieli, na Uni, na Eliabu, na Maaseia, na Benaia maarĩ a kũhũũra inanda cia kĩnũbi, kũringana na Alamothu.
And Zacharias, and Oziel, and Semiramoth, and Jehiel, and Ani, and Eliab, and Maasias, and Banaias, sung mysteries upon psalteries.
21 Nake Matithia, na Elifelehu, na Mikineia, na Obedi-Edomu, na Jeieli, na Azazia maarĩ a kũhũũra inanda cia mũgeeto, matongoretie kũringana na Sheminithu (ũguo nĩ ta kuuga mũgambo ũkũruruma).
And Mathathias, and Eliphalu, and Macenias and Obededom, and Jehiel and Ozaziu, sung a song of victory for the octave upon harps.
22 Kenania ũrĩa mũtongoria wa Alawii nĩwe warũgamĩrĩire ũini; ũcio nĩguo warĩ wĩra wake tondũ aarĩ na ũũgĩ wa guo.
And Chonenias chief of the Levites, presided over the prophecy, to give out the tunes: for he was very skillful.
23 Berekia na Elikana nĩo maarĩ a kũrangĩra mĩrango nĩ ũndũ wa ithandũkũ rĩu.
And Barachias, and Elcana, were doorkeepers of the ark.
24 Athĩnjĩri-Ngai, nĩo Shebania, na Joshafatu, na Nethaneli, na Amasai, na Zekaria, na Benaia, na Eliezeri maarĩ a kũhuha tũrumbeta mbere ya ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai. Obedi-Edomu na Jehia o nao maarĩ arangĩri a mĩrango nĩ ũndũ wa ithandũkũ rĩu.
And Sebenias, and Josaphat, and Nathanael, and Amasai, and Zacharias, and Banaias, and Eliezer the priests, sounded with trumpets, before the ark of God: and Obededom and Jehias were porters of the ark.
25 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Daudi na athuuri a Isiraeli, na anene a ikundi cia ngiri, magĩthiĩ kwambatia ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova kuuma nyũmba ya Obedi-Edomu makenete.
So David and all the ancients of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.
26 Tondũ Ngai nĩateithĩtie Alawii arĩa maakuuaga ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova-rĩ, ndegwa mũgwanja na ndũrũme mũgwanja nĩciarutirwo igongona.
And when God had helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they offered in sacrifice seven oxen, and seven rams.
27 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Daudi eehumbĩte nguo ya igũrũ ndaaya ya gatani ĩrĩa njega, na noguo Alawii othe arĩa makuuĩte ithandũkũ rĩu mehumbĩte, o na aini na Kenania ũrĩa warĩ mũtongoria wa ũini. O na ningĩ Daudi nĩehumbĩte ebodi ya gatani.
And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singing men, and Chonenias the ruler of the prophecy among the singers: and David also had on him an ephod of linen.
28 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ othe a Isiraeli makĩambatia ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova makĩanagĩrĩra, makĩhuhaga macoro na tũrumbeta, na makĩhũũrithanagia thaani iria ihũũrithanagio na ikagamba, na makĩhũũraga inanda cia kĩnũbi na cia mũgeeto.
And all Israel brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord with joyful shouting, and sounding with the sound of the comet, and with trumpets, and cymbals, and psalteries, and harps.
29 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova rĩatoonyaga Itũũra Inene rĩa Daudi-rĩ, Mikali mwarĩ wa Saũlũ nĩacũthĩrĩirie arĩ ndirica-inĩ. Na rĩrĩa onire Mũthamaki Daudi akĩina akĩrũgarũgaga, akĩmũnyarara ngoro-inĩ yake.
And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord was come to the city of David, Michol the daughter of Saul looking out at a window, saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
