< 1 Maũndũ 13 >
1 Daudi nĩmagĩire ndundu na anene ake a ita, arĩa maathaga ikundi cia thigari ngiri na ikundi cia thigari igana.
David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.
2 Ningĩ agĩcooka akĩĩra kĩũngano gĩothe gĩa Isiraeli atĩrĩ, “Mũngĩona kwagĩrĩire na angĩkorwo nĩ kwenda kwa Jehova Ngai witũ, nĩ tũtũme ũhoro kũndũ na kũndũ kũrĩ ariũ a ithe witũ arĩa angĩ marĩ kũndũ guothe ngʼongo-inĩ cia Isiraeli, o na kũrĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai na Alawii arĩa me hamwe nao matũũra-inĩ mao na ũrĩithio-inĩ wao, moke manyiitanĩre na ithuĩ.
David said to all the assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let’s send word everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have pasture lands, that they may gather themselves to us.
3 Nĩtũrehei ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro rĩa Ngai witũ tũrĩcookie kũrĩ ithuĩ, nĩgũkorwo tũtiatuĩragia ũhoro harĩ rĩo hĩndĩ ya ũthamaki wa Saũlũ.”
Also, let’s bring the ark of our God back to us again, for we didn’t seek it in the days of Saul.”
4 Kĩũngano gĩothe gĩgĩtĩkĩra gwĩka ũguo tondũ andũ othe nĩmoonire ũndũ ũcio nĩwagĩrĩire.
All the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Daudi agĩcookanĩrĩria andũ a Isiraeli othe kuuma Rũũĩ rwa Shihoru kũu Misiri nginya Lebo-Hamathu, makagĩĩre ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai kuuma Kiriathu-Jearimu.
So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.
6 Daudi na andũ a Isiraeli othe arĩa maarĩ nake magĩthiĩ Baala kũu Juda (nĩkuo Kiriathu-Jearimu) makagĩĩre ithandũkũ rĩa Jehova Ngai ũrĩa ũikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene gatagatĩ ka makerubi, o ithandũkũ rĩu rĩĩtanĩtio na Rĩĩtwa rĩake.
David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God Yahweh’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.
7 Makĩruta ithandũkũ rĩa Ngai kuuma nyũmba ya Abinadabu rĩkuuĩtwo na ikaari rĩerũ, rĩtongoretio nĩ Uza na Ahio.
They carried God’s ark on a new cart, and brought it out of Abinadab’s house; and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa maakinyire kĩhuhĩro-inĩ kĩa ngano gĩa Kidoni, Uza agĩtambũrũkia guoko nĩguo anyiitĩrĩre ithandũkũ rĩu rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro, tondũ ndegwa nĩciahĩngirwo.
When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.
Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.
11 Nake Daudi akĩrakara tondũ mangʼũrĩ ma Jehova nĩmookĩrĩire Uza, nĩ ũndũ ũcio handũ hau hetagwo Perezu-Uza nginya ũmũthĩ.
David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken out against Uzza. He called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.
12 Daudi agĩĩtigĩra Ngai mũthenya ũcio, akĩũria atĩrĩ, “Ngaahota atĩa kũrehe ithandũkũ rĩĩrĩ rĩa Ngai kũrĩ niĩ?”
David was afraid of God that day, saying, “How can I bring God’s ark home to me?”
13 Tondũ ũcio Daudi ndaathiire na ithandũkũ rĩu Itũũra-inĩ Inene rĩa Daudi. Handũ ha ũguo, aarĩtwarire kwa Obedi-Edomu ũrĩa Mũgiiti.
So David didn’t move the ark with him into David’s city, but carried it aside into Obed-Edom the Gittite’s house.
14 Ithandũkũ rĩu rĩa Ngai rĩaikarire na andũ a nyũmba ya Obedi-Edomu gwake mũciĩ mĩeri ĩtatũ, nake Jehova akĩrathima andũ a mũciĩ wake, o na kĩrĩa gĩothe aarĩ nakĩo.
God’s ark remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months; and Yahweh blessed Obed-Edom’s house and all that he had.
