1 Aya nĩo andũ arĩa mookire kũrĩ Daudi arĩ kũu Zikilagi, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aaingatĩtwo akehera maitho-inĩ ma Saũlũ mũrũ wa Kishu (maarĩ amwe a njamba cia ita iria ciamũteithirie mbaara-inĩ;

Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he was yet shut up because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow; they were of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite;

4 na Ishimaia ũrĩa Mũgibeoni, mũndũ warĩ njamba thĩinĩ wa andũ arĩa Mĩrongo Ĩtatũ, nake aarĩ mũtongoria ũmwe thĩinĩ wa acio Mĩrongo Ĩtatũ; na Jeremia, na Jahazieli, na Johanani, na Jozabadu ũrĩa Mũgederathi,

and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad the Gederathite;

5 na Eluzai, na Jerimothu, na Bealia, na Shemaria, na Shefatia ũrĩa Mũharufi;

Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Hariphite;

6 na Elikana, na Ishia, na Azareli, na Joezeru, na Jashobeamu arĩa maarĩ a mbarĩ ya Kora;

Elkanah, and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;

7 na Joela, na Zebadia, ariũ a Jerohamu kuuma Gedori.

and Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of the troop.

8 Agadi amwe nĩmagarũrũkire magĩcooka mwena wa Daudi o kũu werũ-inĩ kĩĩhitho-inĩ gĩake. Maarĩ njamba cia ita irĩ ũrũme ciehaarĩirie gũthiĩ mbaara, na nĩmooĩ kũhũthĩra ngo na itimũ. Mothiũ mao maahaanaga ta mothiũ ma mĩrũũthi, na maarĩ ihenya ta thwariga irĩ irĩma-inĩ.

And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David to the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valour, men trained for war, that could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;

Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third;

11 na Atai aarĩ wa gatandatũ, na Elieli aarĩ wa mũgwanja,

Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh;

12 na Johanani aarĩ wa kanana, na Elizabadu aarĩ wa kenda,

Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth;

13 na Jeremia aarĩ wa ikũmi, na Makabanai aarĩ wa ikũmi na ũmwe.

Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.

14 Agadi acio maarĩ anene a mbũtũ cia ita; ũrĩa warĩ mũnini mũno wao aarũaga mbaara ĩrĩa ĩngĩarũirwo nĩ andũ igana, nake ũrĩa warĩ mũnene mũno wao aarũaga mbaara ĩrĩa ĩngĩarũirwo nĩ andũ ngiri ĩmwe.

These of the sons of Gad were captains of the host; he that was least was equal to a hundred, and the greatest to a thousand.

15 Nĩo maaringire Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani mweri wa mbere rĩrĩa rwaiyũrĩte nginya rũkoina hũgũrũrũ ciaruo ciothe, na makĩingatithia andũ arĩa othe maaikaraga cianda-inĩ cia mwena wa irathĩro na mwena wa ithũĩro.

These are they that went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

16 Andũ amwe a kuuma Benjamini na angĩ a kuuma Juda o nao magĩũka kũrĩ Daudi kũu kĩĩhitho-inĩ gĩake.

And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold unto David.

17 Daudi agĩthiĩ kũmatũnga, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Angĩkorwo mũrooka kũrĩ niĩ na thayũ kũndeithia-rĩ, nĩndĩhaarĩirie kũmwamũkĩra tũtuĩke kĩndũ kĩmwe; no angĩkorwo mũũkĩte kũngunyanĩra kũrĩ thũ ciakwa o rĩrĩa itarenda haaro-rĩ, Ngai wa maithe maitũ arorora ũndũ ũcio na amũtuĩre ciira.”

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them: 'If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you; but if ye be come to betray me to mine adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and give judgment.'

18 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Roho agĩikũrũkĩra Amasai, mũnene wa arĩa Mĩrongo Ĩtatũ, akiuga atĩrĩ: “Tũrĩ aku, wee Daudi! Tũrĩ hamwe nawe, wee mũrũ wa Jesii! Then the spirit clothed Amasai, who was chief of the captains: Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse; peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thy helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

19 Andũ amwe a Manase nĩmagarũrũkire magĩthiĩ mwena wa Daudi rĩrĩa aathiire na Afilisti kũhũũrana na Saũlũ. (Daudi na andũ ake matiateithirie Afilisti, tondũ thuutha wa kwaranĩria, aathani ao nĩmamũingatire. Maamwĩrire atĩrĩ, “Tũkaarĩha na mĩoyo iitũ angĩgatũtiganĩria acookerere mwathi wake Saũlũ.”)

Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they helped them not; for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying: 'He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.'

20 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Daudi aathiire Zikilagi, aya nĩo andũ a Manase arĩa maagarũrũkire magĩthiĩ mwena wake: Adina, na Jozabadu, na Jediaeli, na Mikaeli, na Jozabadu, na Elihu, na Zilethai, atongoria a ikundi cia ngiri kũu Manase.

As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands that were of Manasseh.

21 Nĩmateithirie Daudi kuuma kũrĩ mbũtũ iria ciamũtharĩkĩire, nĩgũkorwo othe maarĩ njamba cia ita irĩ ũrũme, na maarĩ anene a ita ciake.

And they helped David against the troop, for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.

22 Mũthenya o mũthenya andũ nĩmookaga gũteithia Daudi, o nginya akĩgĩa na mbũtũ nene, o ta mbũtũ ya Ngai.

For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great host, like the host of God.

23 Ũyũ nĩguo mũigana wa andũ arĩa meehaarĩirie gũthiĩ mbaara arĩa maathiire Hebironi kũrĩ Daudi nĩgeetha magarũre ũthamaki wa Saũlũ, maũnengere Daudi, o ta ũrĩa Jehova oigĩte:

And these are the numbers of the heads of them that were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.

24 andũ a Juda arĩa meehaarĩirie kũrũa mbaara maakuĩte ngo na matimũ, maarĩ 6,800;

The children of Judah that bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.

25 andũ a Simeoni arĩa njamba cia ita meehaarĩirie kũrũa mbaara, maarĩ 7,100;

Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

26 andũ a Alawii maarĩ 4,600;

Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.

27 amwe ao maarĩ Jehoiada, mũtongoria wa nyũmba ya Harũni ũrĩa warĩ na andũ 3,700,

And Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;

28 na Zadoku, mwanake mũnini warĩ njamba ya ita ĩrĩ ũrũme, ũrĩa warĩ na anene a thigari mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ na eerĩ kuuma nyũmba yake;

and Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.

29 andũ a Benjamini, na nĩo maarĩ a mbarĩ ĩmwe na Saũlũ, maarĩ 3,000; aingĩ ao maatũũrĩte maathĩkagĩra nyũmba ya Saũlũ, o nginya hĩndĩ ĩyo;

And of the children of Benjamin, the brethren of Saul, three thousand; for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.

30 andũ a Efiraimu, njamba cia ita irĩ ũrũme na irĩ ngumo mĩhĩrĩga-inĩ yao, maarĩ 20,800;

And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous men in their fathers' houses.

31 andũ a nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase, arĩa maagwetetwo na marĩĩtwa nĩguo mathiĩ matue Daudi mũthamaki, maarĩ 18,000;

And of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.

32 andũ a Isakaru, arĩa maarĩ na ũmenyo wa mahinda, na makamenya ũrĩa Isiraeli magĩrĩirwo nĩ gwĩka, maarĩ anene 200 arĩa maathaga andũ othe a nyũmba ciao;

And of the children of Issachar, men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

33 andũ a Zebuluni, thigari iria ciamenyerete mbaara, na nĩmehaarĩirie kũrũa mbaara me na mĩthemba yothe ya indo cia mbaara, nĩguo mateithie Daudi marĩ na ngoro ĩmwe, nao maarĩ 50,000;

Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand; and that could order the battle array, and were not of double heart.

34 andũ a Nafitali maarĩ anene 1,000 hamwe na andũ 37,000 arĩa makuuĩte ngo na matimũ;

And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.

35 andũ a Dani arĩa mehaarĩirie kũrũa mbaara, maarĩ 28,600;

And of the Danites that could set the battle in array, twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.

36 andũ a Asheri, thigari iria ciamenyerete mbaara na mehaarĩirie kũrũa mbaara, maarĩ 40,000;

And of Asher, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, forty thousand.

37 na kuuma mwena wa irathĩro wa Jorodani, andũ a Rubeni, na Gadi, na nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase, marĩ na mĩthemba yothe ya indo cia mbaara, maarĩ 120,000.

And on the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.

38 Acio othe maarĩ andũ a kũrũa arĩa meerutĩte gũtungata marĩ ita-inĩ. Magĩũka Hebironi marĩ na ngoro ĩmwe ya gũtua Daudi mũthamaki wa Isiraeli guothe. Andũ a Isiraeli arĩa angĩ othe o nao maarĩ na rĩciiria o rĩmwe rĩa gũtua Daudi mũthamaki.

All these, being men of war, that could order the battle array, came with a whole heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brethren had made preparation for them.

40 O na ningĩ andũ arĩa maatũũraga hakuhĩ nao kuuma Isakaru, na Zebuluni, na Nafitali nĩmarehire irio ikuuĩtwo nĩ ndigiri, na ngamĩĩra, na nyũmbũ, na ndegwa. Nĩ kwarehetwo mũtu mũingĩ, na ngũmba cia ngũyũ na cia thabibũ nyũmũ, na ndibei, na maguta, na ngʼombe, na ngʼondu, nĩgũkorwo kwarĩ na gĩkeno kũu Isiraeli.

Moreover they that were nigh unto them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, victual of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance; for there was joy in Israel.
