Sacharja 1

1 Im achten Monat, im zweiten Jahr des Darius, geschah das Wort Jehovahs an Sacharjah, den Sohn Berechjahs, des Sohnes Iddos, den Propheten, und Er sprach:

In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyah, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,

2 Jehovah war sehr entrüstet über eure Väter.

The Lord hath been greatly angry with your fathers.

3 Du aber sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Kehret zurück zu Mir, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, dann kehre Ich zurück zu euch, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.

And [now] say thou unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Return ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will return unto you: so hath said the Lord of hosts.

4 Seid nicht wie eure Väter, denen die ersten Propheten zuriefen und sprachen: So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Kehret doch zurück von euren bösen Wegen und euren bösen Werken, aber sie hörten nicht und merkten nicht auf Mich, spricht Jehovah.

Be ye not like your fathers, unto whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Do return from your evil ways, and your evil doings; but they did not hear, nor listen unto me, saith the Lord.

5 Wo sind nun eure Väter? Und die Propheten, leben sie ewig?

Your fathers, —where are they! and the prophets, — could they live for ever!

6 Doch Meine Worte und Meine Satzungen, die Ich Meinen Knechten, den Propheten, hatte geboten, erreichten sie eure Väter nicht? Und sie kehrten zurück und sprachen: Wie Jehovah der Herrscharen gesonnen uns zu tun nach unseren Wegen und nach unseren Werken, so hat Er mit uns getan.

But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, behold, they did overtake your fathers: and [then] they returned and said, Just as the Lord of hosts had purposed to do unto us, in accordance with our ways, and in accordance with our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

7 Am vierundzwanzigsten Tage des elften Monats, welcher ist der Monat Schebat, im zweiten Jahr des Darius, geschah das Wort Jehovahs an Sacharjah, den Sohn Berechjahus, des Sohnes Iddos, an den Propheten, und Er sprach:

On the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyahu, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,

8 Ich sah in der Nacht, und siehe, ein Mann ritt auf einem roten Pferd, und er stand zwischen den Myrten, die in der Tiefe sind, und hinter ihm rote, braune und weiße Pferde.

I saw this night, and behold there was a man riding upon a red horse, and he was standing among the myrtle-trees that were in the deep valley; and behind him were red, pale, and white horses.

9 Und ich sprach: Was sind diese, mein Herr? Und der Engel, der mit redete, sprach zu mir: Ich will dich sehen lassen, was diese sind.

And I said, What are these, O my lord? Then said unto me the angel that spoke with me, I will show thee what these are.

10 Und es hub an der Mann, der zwischen den Myrten stand, und sprach: Diese sind es, die Jehovah sandte, durch das Land zu ziehen.

And the man that stood among the myrtle-trees answered and said, These are those whom the Lord hath sent to traverse the earth.

11 Und sie antworteten dem Engel des Jehovah, der zwischen den Myrten stand, und sprachen: Wir sind durch das Land gezogen, und siehe, das Land wird bewohnt und rastet.

And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have traversed the earth, and, behold, all the earth is inhabited quietly, and is at rest.

12 Und es antwortete der Engel Jehovahs und sprach: Jehovah der Heerscharen, wie lange willst Du Dich nicht erbarmen Jerusalems und der Städte Jehudahs, gegen die Du diese siebzig Jahre ergrimmt bist?

Then commenced the angel of the Lord, and said, O Lord of hosts, how long yet wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast been indignant these seventy years?

13 Und es antwortete Jehovah dem Engel, der mit mir redete, gute Worte, tröstliche Worte;

And the Lord answered the angel that spoke with me with good words and comforting words.

14 Und zu mir sprach der Engel, der mit mir redete: Rufe und sprich: So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Ich eifere mit großem Eifer für Jerusalem und für Zijon.

And the angel that spoke with me said unto me, Proclaim thou, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

15 Und Ich bin entrüstet mit großer Entrüstung wider die sorglosen Völkerschaften, indem Ich ein wenig entrüstet war, und sie zum Übel beistanden.

And with a great anger will I be angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little angry [with Zion], and they helped forward the mischief.

16 Darum, so spricht Jehovah, kehre Ich zurück mit Erbarmen zu Jerusalem: Mein Haus, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, soll in ihm aufgebaut und die Meßschnur über Jerusalem ausgespannt werden.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord, I am returned to Jerusalem in mercy: my house shall be rebuilt in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and the measuring-line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem.

17 Noch rufe und sprich: So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Noch werden sich Meine Städte ausbreiten wegen des Guten, und Jehovah tröstet noch Zijon, und erwählt noch Jerusalem.

Proclaim yet [farther], saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, My cities shall again overflow with prosperity: and the Lord will again comfort Zion, and make choice again of Jerusalem.

18 Und ich hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe: vier Hörner.

And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there were four horns.

19 Und ich sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Was sind diese? Und er sprach zu mir: Dies sind die Hörner, die Jehudah, Israel und Jerusalem zersprengten.

And I said unto the angel who spoke with me, What are these? And he said unto me, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

20 Und Jehovah ließ mich vier Werkleute sehen.

And the Lord showed me four carpenters.

21 Und ich sprach: Was sind diese gekommen zu tun? Und Er sprach, sprechend: Dies sind die Hörner, die Jehudah zersprengten, dermaßen, daß kein Mann das Haupt erhob. Und diese sind gekommen, diese aufzuscheuchen, niederzuwerfen die Hörner der Völkerschaften, die das Horn erhoben wider das Land Jehudah, um es zu zersprengen.

Then said I, What are these coming to do? And he said as followeth, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, to the extent that no man could lift up his head; but these are come to terrify them, to cast off the horns of the nations, that have been lifting up their horn over the land of Judah to disperse it.
