Roemers 14
1 Den Schwachen im Glauben nehmt auf, ohne Streit über Meinungen.
Him that is weak in his faith, receive ye, —not for disputing opinions: —
2 Der eine glaubt, alles essen zu dürfen, der Schwächere ißt nur Gemüse.
One, indeed, hath faith to eat all things, whereas, he that is weak, eateth herbs:
3 Wer da ißt, verachte den nicht, der nicht ißt; der aber nicht ißt, richte den nicht, der da ißt; denn Gott hat ihn angenommen.
Let not, him that eateth, despise him that eateth not, and let not, him that eateth not, judge him that eateth; for, God, hath received him.
4 Wer bist du, daß du einen fremden Knecht richtest? Seinem eigenen Herrn steht oder fällt er, er wird aber wohl stehend erhalten werden; denn Gott vermag ihn aufrecht zu erhalten.
Who art, thou, that judgest another’s domestic? To his own master, he standeth or falleth; he shall, however, be made to stand, —for his master is able to make him stand.
5 Der eine entscheidet sich für einen Tag vor dem anderen; der andere hält jeden Tag gleich heilig.
[For], one, indeed esteemeth one day beyond another, whereas, another, esteemeth every day: —let, each one, in his own mind be fully persuaded.
6 Der auf den Tag hält, tut es dem Herrn, und wer nicht auf den Tag hält, hält nicht darauf, auch dem Herrn. Wer da ißt, ißt dem Herrn, denn er dankt Gott, und wer nicht ißt, ißt nicht, auch dem Herrn, und dankt Gott.
He that regardeth the day, unto the Lord, regardeth it, —and, he that eateth, unto the Lord, doth eat, for he giveth thanks unto God; and, he that eateth not, unto the Lord, doth not eat and give God thanks.
7 Denn keiner von uns lebt ihm selber und keiner stirbt ihm selber.
For, none of us, unto himself liveth, and, none, unto himself dieth;
8 Leben wir, so leben wir ja dem Herrn, und sterben wir, so sterben wir dem Herrn; wir mögen also leben oder sterben, so sind wir des Herrn.
For both, if we live, unto the Lord, we live, and, if we die, unto the Lord, we die; whether therefore we live, the Lord’s, we are; or whether we die, the Lord’s, we are;
9 Denn dazu ist Christus auch gestorben und auferstanden und wieder in das Leben getreten, daß Er sowohl über Tote als Lebendige Herr sei.
For, to this end, Christ died and lived, in order that, both of dead and living, he might have lordship.
10 Du aber, was richtest du deinen Bruder? oder auch du, was verachtest du deinen Bruder? Wir werden ja alle vor den Richterstuhl Christus treten.
But, thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? Aye! and thou, why dost thou despise thy brother? For, all of us, shall present ourselves unto the judgment seat of God;
11 Denn es steht geschrieben: So wahr Ich lebe, spricht Jehovah, alle Knie sollen sich Mir beugen, und alle Zungen Gott bekennen.
For it is written—Living am, I, saith the Lord, unto me, shall bow every knee, and, every tongue, shall openly confess unto God.
12 So wird denn ein jeglicher von uns für sich selber Gott Rechenschaft geben.
Hence, [then], each one of us, of himself shall give account unto God.
13 Darum lasset uns nicht mehr einander richten, sondern richtet vielmehr, ob wir nicht dem Bruder Anstoß oder Ärgernis geben.
No longer, then, upon one another, let us be sitting in judgment, but, this, judge ye rather—not to be putting a cause of stumbling before your brother or an occasion to fall.
14 Ich weiß und bin überzeugt im Herrn Jesus, daß nichts an und für sich gemein ist, es sei denn für den gemein, der es dafür erachtet.
I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus—that, nothing, is profane of itself, —save to him who reckoneth anything to be profane, unto that man, [it is] profane,
15 Wenn aber dein Bruder ob deiner Speise sich betrübt, so wandelst du nicht mehr nach der Liebe. Verdirb doch nicht durch deine Speise den, für den Christus gestorben ist!
If, in fact, because of food, thy brother is being grieved, no longer, by the rule of love, art thou walking: —do not, by thy food, that man, be destroying, on whose behalf Christ died!
16 Laß darum euer Gutes nicht verlästert werden.
Therefore, suffer not to be defamed, your own good thing;
17 Denn das Reich Gottes ist nicht Essen und Trinken, sondern Gerechtigkeit und Friede und Freude im Heiligen Geist.
For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in Holy Spirit;
18 Denn wer darin Christus dient, ist Gott wohlgefällig und den Menschen wert.
For, he that in this doeth service unto the Christ, is acceptable unto God, and approved unto men.
19 Laßt uns daher nach dem streben, was zum Frieden und zu gegenseitiger Erbauung dient.
Hence, then, the things pertaining to peace, let us pursue, and the things which belong to the upbuilding one of another:
20 Zerstöre darum nicht der Speise wegen Gottes Werk. Alles ist zwar rein, wird aber zur Sünde dem Menschen, der durch das Essen Anstoß gibt.
Do not, for the sake of food, be throwing down the work of God! All things, indeed, are pure; but, ill, is it for the man who with occasion of stumbling doth eat, —
21 Es ist besser, du ißt kein Fleisch und trinkst keinen Wein, und tust nichts, daran dein Bruder Anstoß oder Ärgernis und Schaden nimmt.
Well, is it not to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor [to do aught] whereby thy brother is caused to stumble.
22 Hast du Glauben? Habe ihn für dich vor Gott! Selig, wer nicht Gericht hält über sich selbst bei dem, was er billigt.
The faith which thou hast, have to thyself before God: happy, he that bringeth not judgment upon himself by that which he approveth;
23 Wer aber im Zweifel ist, der, wenn er doch ißt, ist verurteilt, weil er nicht aus gutem Glauben gehandelt hat. Alles, was nicht aus Glauben geschieht, ist Sünde.
But, he that is in doubt, if he eat, hath condemned himself, —because, [it was] not of faith, and, everything which is not of faith, is sin.
