Roemers 1
1 Paulus, ein Knecht Jesu Christi, zum Apostel berufen, ausgesondert zum Evangelium Gottes.
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
2 Welches Er zuvor verheißen hat durch Seine Propheten in heiligen Schriften,
which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
3 Von dem Sohne, Der aus dem Samen Davids geboren worden nach dem Fleisch,
concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
4 Aber wunderkräftig Sich als Sohn Gottes erwiesen hat nach dem Geiste der Heiligkeit durch die Auferstehung von den Toten, als Jesus Christus, unseren Herrn.
and who was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
5 Durch Den wir empfangen haben Gnade und Apostelamt, Gehorsam des Glaubens für Seinen Namen unter allen Völkern zu bewir- ken,
through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the Gentiles,
6 Unter denen auch ihr Berufene von Jesus Christus seid.
including you who are also called to belong to Jesus Christ;
7 An alle in Rom befindliche Geliebte Gottes und berufene Heilige. Gnade euch und Friede von Gott unserem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!
to all who are in Rome, beloved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Zuvörderst danke ich meinem Gott durch Jesus Christus um euer aller willen, daß euer Glaube in aller Welt verkündigt wird.
First, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.
9 Denn Gott ist mein Zeuge, Dem ich diene in meinem Geist durch das Evangelium Seines Sohnes, wie ich euer unablässig gedenke,
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that I continually remember you,
10 Und allezeit in meinen Gebeten flehe, ob mir wohl das Glück werde, nach dem Willen Gottes zu euch zu kommen.
always pleading in my prayers that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you.
11 Denn mich verlangt, euch zu sehen, auf daß ich euch etwas geistiger Gnadengabe mitteile, damit ihr gestärkt werdet.
For I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, that you may be established,
12 Damit meine ich, daß ich an euch ermuntert werde durch unseren gemeinsamen Glauben, den euren und den meinigen.
that is, that while I am among you we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
13 Ich will euch aber nicht verhalten, Brüder, daß ich mir oft vorgesetzt hatte und bis jetzt immer verhindert wurde, zu euch zu kommen, auf daß ich auch unter euch einige Frucht hätte, gleich wie unter den übrigen Völkern.
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you (but have been hindered until the present time) so that I might have some fruit among you as well, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
14 Denn ich bin ein Schuldner sowohl der Griechen, als der Nichtgriechen, der Weisen und der Unverständigen.
I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish;
15 So bin ich denn, soviel an mir ist, bereit, auch euch in Rom das Evangelium zu verkündigen.
thus the eagerness on my part to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.
16 Denn ich schäme mich der Heilsbotschaft von Christus nicht, weil sie eine Kraft Gottes ist, und Heil bringt allen, die daran glauben, Juden zunächst und Griechen.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, both to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17 Weil die Gerechtigkeit Gottes in ihr geoffenbart wird, aus Glauben in Glauben, wie denn geschrieben steht: Der Gerechte wird durch seinen Glauben leben.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.”
18 Denn der Zorn Gottes wird geoffenbart vom Himmel über alle Gottlosigkeit und Ungerechtigkeit der Menschen, welche die Wahrheit durch Ungerechtigkeit aufhalten.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness.
19 Denn daß ein Gott ist, ist ihnen offenbar, weil Gott es ihnen geoffenbart hat.
Because what is known about God is evident among them, for God has made it evident to them.
20 Denn Sein Unschaubares wird von der Schöpfung der Welt an durch das Erschaffene erschaut, und mit der Vernunft wahrgenommen, Seine ewige Kraft und Göttlichkeit, so daß sie keine Entschuldigung haben, (aïdios g126)
For his invisible qualities, both his everlasting power and his divinity, have been plainly seen from the creation of the world, being perceived through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (aïdios g126)
21 Weil sie Gott kannten; sie priesen Ihn aber nicht als Gott, noch dankten sie, sondern ließen sich betören in ihren Gedanken und ihr unverständiges Herz verfinsterte sich.
For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their senseless hearts were darkened.
22 Während sie sagten, sie wären weise, wurden sie Toren,
Claiming to be wise, they became fools
23 Und vertauschten die Herrlichkeit des unvergänglichen Gottes mit Bildern vergänglicher Menschen, Vögel, vierfüßiger und kriechender Tiere.
and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.
24 Weshalb sie Gott auch hingab in die Gelüste ihrer Herzen, in Unzucht, so daß sie ihre Leiber untereinander entehrten.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25 Als welche die Wahrheit Gottes umtauschten für die Lüge, und die Schöpfung mehr als den Schöpfer, Der doch in Wahrheit ewiglich zu preisen ist, anbeteten und verehrten. Amen. (aiōn g165)
because they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
26 Darum gab sie Gott in schandbare Leidenschaften hin; denn ihre Weiber verwandelten den natürlichen Genuß in unnatürlichen.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is contrary to nature.
27 Desgleichen auch die Männer den natürlichen Umgang mit dem Weibe verließen und in geiler Lust gegeneinander entbrannten, und Männer mit Männern schändliche Unzucht trieben, und den verdienten Lohn ihres Irrwahns, wie es denn sein sollte, an sich selbst empfingen.
In the same way the men also, having abandoned the natural function of the female, were inflamed in their lust for one another, men committing shameful acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Und gleich wie sie die Erkenntnis Gottes verwarfen, gab sie Gott dahin ihrem verkehrten Sinn, zu tun, was sich nicht gebührte.
And just as they considered it worthless to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a worthless mind, to do what is not proper.
29 So daß sie aller Ungerechtigkeit, Hurerei, Schlechtigkeit, Habsucht und Bosheit sich ergaben, voll Neides, Mordsucht, Zänkerei, Arglist und Tücke;
They are filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, evil, covetousness, and malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and maliciousness. They are gossips,
30 Ohrenbläser, Verleumder, Gottverhaßte, Übermütige, Hoffärtige, Ruhmredige, Unheilstifter, den Eltern Ungehorsame,
slanderers, haters of God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31 Unbesonnene, unverträgliche, lieblose, unbarmherzige Menschen wurden,
senseless, untrustworthy, without natural affection, irreconcilable, and unmerciful.
32 Die, obgleich sie wußten, was vor Gott recht ist, daß die, welche solches tun, des Todes würdig sind, dasselbige nicht nur selbst tun, sondern auch an denen, die es tun, Gefallen finden.
Though they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.
