Psalm 97
1 Jehovah ist König, die Erde frohlocke, es seien fröhlich die vielen Inseln!
The Lord reigneth: let the earth be glad; let the multitude of isles rejoice.
2 Wolke und Wetternacht sind rings um Ihn, Gerechtigkeit und Recht sind Seines Thrones Festigung.
Clouds and thick darkness are round about him: righteousness and justice are the support of his throne.
3 Feuer geht vor Seinem Angesicht und setzt in Flammen Seine Dränger ringsumher.
A fire goeth before him, and burneth up round about his adversaries.
4 Seine Blitze erleuchten die Welt; die Erde sieht es und kreißet.
His lightnings give light to the world: the earth seeth it, and trembleth.
5 Wie Wachs zerschmelzen Berge vor Jehovahs Angesicht, vor dem Angesicht des Herrn der ganzen Erde.
The mountains melt away like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.
6 Seine Gerechtigkeit sagen an die Himmel, und alle Völker sehen Seine Herrlichkeit.
The heavens tell of his righteousness, and all the people his glory.
7 Beschämt werden alle Diener der Schnitzbilder, die, so sich rühmen der Götzen! Betet Ihn an, ihr Götter alle!
Made ashamed shall be all that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: unto him bow down all the gods.
8 Zion hört es und ist fröhlich, Jehudahs Töchter frohlocken ob Deiner Gerichte, o Jehovah.
Zion heareth it, and rejoiceth; and glad are the daughters of Judah, because of thy decrees, O Lord.
9 Denn Du, Jehovah, bist der Höchste über der ganzen Erde, bist sehr erhöht über alle Götter!
For thou, O Lord, art the most high above all the earth: thou art greatly exalted above all gods.
10 Die ihr Jehovah liebet, haßt das Böse. Er hütet die Seelen Seiner Heiligen, Er errettet sie aus der Ungerechten Händen.
Ye that love the Lord, hate ye the evil: he preserveth the souls of his pious ones; out of the hand of the wicked he ever delivereth them.
11 Licht wird gesät für den Gerechten, Fröhlichkeit für die, so geraden Herzens sind.
Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Seid fröhlich in Jehovah, ihr Gerechten, und bekennt dem Andenken Seiner Heiligkeit!
Rejoice, ye righteous, in the Lord, and give thanks to his holy memorial.
