Psalm 71

1 Auf Dich, Jehovah, verlasse ich mich. Laß mich ewiglich nicht beschämt werden.

In Thee, O LORD, have I taken refuge; let me never be ashamed.

2 Errette und befreie mich in Deiner Gerechtigkeit, neige Dein Ohr mir zu, und rette mich!

Deliver me in Thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline Thine ear unto me, and save me.

3 Sei Du mir ein Fels, eine Wohnstätte, dahin ich beständig kommen mag; Du hast geboten, mich zu retten. Meine Felsklippe und meine Feste bist Du.

Be Thou to me a sheltering rock, whereunto I may continually resort, which Thou hast appointed to save me; for Thou art my rock and my fortress.

4 Mein Gott, befreie mich aus der Hand des Ungerechten, aus der Hand des Verkehrten und des Heftigen.

O my God, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man.

5 Denn Du bist meine Hoffnung, Herr Jehovah, mein Vertrauen von meiner Jugend auf.

For Thou art my hope; O Lord GOD, my trust from my youth.

6 Auf Dich habe ich von Mutterleib an mich gelehnt. Aus meiner Mutter Eingeweide zogst Du mich heraus. In Dir ist mein Lob beständig.

Upon Thee have I stayed myself from birth; Thou art He that took me out of my mother's womb; my praise is continually of Thee.

7 Wie ein Wahrzeichen war ich vielen; denn Du warst meine Zuversicht der Stärke.

I am as a wonder unto many; but Thou art my strong refuge.

8 Mein Mund ist Deines Lobes voll und Deines Ruhmes den ganzen Tag.

My mouth shall be filled with Thy praise, and with Thy glory all the day.

9 Verwirf mich nicht zur Zeit des Alters, verlaß mich nicht, wenn meine Kraft zu Ende geht.

Cast me not off in the time of old age; when my strength faileth, forsake me not.

10 Denn meine Feinde sprechen über mich; und die auf meine Seele halten, ratschlagen zusammen.

For mine enemies speak concerning me, and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,

11 Sie sprechen: Gott hat ihn verlassen, setzet ihm nach, und fasset ihn; denn niemand ist, der ihn errette.

Saying: 'God hath forsaken him; pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.'

12 Gott, sei nicht fern von mir, komm schleunig mir zum Beistand.

O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me.

13 Schämen müssen sich und verzehrt werden, die meine Seele anfeinden; Schmach und Schande umhülle sie, die mir Übles suchen.

Let them be ashamed and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and confusion that seek my hurt.

14 Ich aber will beständig warten und hinzutun zu all Deinem Lobe.

But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise Thee yet more and more.

15 Mein Mund soll Deine Gerechtigkeit erzählen, Dein Heil den ganzen Tag; denn ich weiß sie nicht zu zählen.

My mouth shall tell of Thy righteousness, and of Thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

16 Ich will kommen in der Macht des Herrn Jehovah, ich will gedenken Deiner Gerechtigkeit, Deiner allein.

I will come with Thy mighty acts, O Lord GOD; I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only.

17 Gott, Du hast von Jugend auf mich gelehrt, und bis hierher will ich Deine Wunder ansagen.

O God, Thou hast taught me from my youth; and until now do I declare Thy wondrous works.

18 Und auch bis ins Alter und ins Greisentum, o Gott, verlasse mich nicht, bis daß ich dem Geschlechte Deinen Arm ansage, jedem, der kommen wird, Deine Macht.

And even unto old age and hoary hairs, O God, forsake me not; until I have declared Thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.

19 Und Deine Gerechtigkeit, o Gott, bis in die Höhe; was Du Großes getan hast, o Gott; wer ist, wie Du?

Thy righteousness also, O God, which reacheth unto high heaven; Thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto Thee?

20 Der Du mich viele und böse Drangsale hast sehen lassen, kehre zurück, belebe Du mich und bringe Du mich zurück aus der Erde Abgründen, bringe mich herauf.

Thou, who hast made me to see many and sore troubles, wilt quicken me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

21 Mehre Du meine Größe und wende Dich um, tröste mich.

Thou wilt increase my greatness, and turn and comfort me.

22 Auch ich will Dich bekennen mit dem Instrument des Psalters, Deiner Wahrheit, o Gott; will Dir in Psalmen singen zur Harfe, Du Heiliger Israels.

I also will give thanks unto Thee with the psaltery, even unto Thy truth, O my God; I will sing praises unto Thee with the harp, O Thou Holy One of Israel.

23 Lobpreisen werden meine Lippen, wenn ich Dir Psalmen singe, und meine Seele, die Du eingelöst hast.

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing praises unto Thee; and my soul, which Thou hast redeemed.

24 Auch meine Zunge sinnt den ganzen Tag Deine Gerechtigkeit, denn beschämt werden, denn es erröten, die mir Übles suchen.

My tongue also shall tell of Thy righteousness all the day; for they are ashamed, for they are abashed, that seek my hurt.
