Psalm 65
1 Dem Sangmeister. Ein Psalm von David. Ein Lied. Dir, Gott, ist die Stille ein Lob auf Zion, und Dir bezahlt man Gelübde.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm [and] Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion: and to thee shall the vow be performed.
2 Du hörst das Gebet, zu Dir kommt alles Fleisch.
O thou that hearest prayer, to thee shall all flesh come.
3 Uns überwältigten die Worte der Missetaten, doch sühnest Du unsere Übertretungen.
Iniquities prevail against me: [as for] our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.
4 Selig der, den Du erwählst und lässest nahen, zu wohnen in Deinen Vorhöfen; lasse satt uns werden des Guten Deines Hauses, des Heiligen Deines Tempels.
Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [to thee], [that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple.
5 Wunderbares in Gerechtigkeit antwortest Du uns, Gott unseres Heils, auf Den vertrauen alle Enden der Erde, und das Meer der Fernen.
[By] terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; [who art] the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off [upon] the sea:
6 Der Berge festigt in Seiner Kraft und Sich mit Macht umgürtet.
Who by his strength setteth fast the mountains; [being] girded with power:
7 Der beruhigt das Tosen der Meere, das Tosen ihrer Wogen und das Getümmel der Volksstämme;
Who stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
8 Und vor Deinen Zeichen fürchten sich, die wohnen an den Enden; die Ausgänge des Morgens und des Abends lässest Du lobpreisen.
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Du suchst heim die Erde und erfreust sie; Du hast sie sehr bereichert; das Bächlein Gottes ist voll Wassers; Du bereitest ihr Korn, denn so hast Du sie bereitet.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, [which] is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
10 Du netzst ihre Furchen, senkst ihre Schollen, läßt mit Regengüssen sie zerfließen, und segnest ihre Sprossen.
Thou waterest the ridges of it abundantly: thou settlest the furrows of it: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing of it.
11 Du krönst das Jahr mit Deiner Güte, Deine Fußstapfen triefen mit Fettigkeit.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 Der Wüste Auen triefen, und mit Frohlocken gürten sich die Hügel.
They drop [upon] the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 Die Fluren kleiden sich mit Schafen, und die Talgründe hüllen sich in Korn; sie jubeln, ja, sie singen.
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
