Psalm 62

1 Dem Sangmeister auf Jeduthun. Ein Psalm Davids. Sei stille nur in Gott, du meine Seele; von Ihm kommt mein Heil.

To the excelletn musician Ieduthun. A Psalme of David. Yet my soule keepeth silence vnto God: of him commeth my saluation.

2 Nur Er ist mein Fels und mein Heil, meine Burg, ich werde viel nicht wanken.

Yet he is my strength and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not much be mooued.

3 Wie lange wollt ihr auf einen Mann anstürmen, wollt ihr alle ihn morden, wie eine sich neigende Wand, wie eine umgestoßene Mauer?

How long wil ye imagine mischiefe against a man? ye shalbe all slaine: ye shalbe as a bowed wall, or as a wall shaken.

4 Sie gehen nur zu Rate, ihn von seiner Erhabenheit zu stoßen, sie haben Gefallen am Falschen, segnen mit dem Mund, und in ihrem Inneren fluchen sie. (Selah)

Yet they consult to cast him downe from his dignitie: their delight is in lies, they blesse with their mouthes, but curse with their hearts. (Selah)

5 In Gott nur, meine Seele, sei stille; denn von Ihm ist meine Hoffnung.

Yet my soule keepe thou silence vnto God: for mine hope is in him.

6 Nur Er ist mein Fels und mein Heil, meine Burg, ich werde nicht wanken.

Yet is hee my strength, and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not be mooued.

7 Mein Heil und meine Herrlichkeit ist bei Gott, der Fels meiner Stärke und meiner Zuversicht ist in Gott.

In God is my saluation and my glory, the rocke of my strength: in God is my trust.

8 Vertraue alle Zeit auf Ihn, o Volk, vor Ihm schüttet euer Herz aus, Gott ist unsere Zuversicht! (Selah)

Trust in him alway, ye people: powre out your hearts before him, for God is our hope. (Selah)

9 Nur Nichtigkeit sind die Söhne des Menschen, Falschheit die Söhne des Mannes; sie steigen auf in der Waage allzumal mehr als die Nichtigkeit.

Yet the children of men are vanitie, the chiefe men are lies: to lay them vpon a balance they are altogether lighter then vanitie.

10 Vertraut nicht auf Erpreßtes und werdet nicht ob Entrissenem nichtig; wächst euer Vermögen heran, so setzet euer Herz nicht darein.

Trust not in oppression nor in robberie: be not vaine: if riches increase, set not your heart thereon.

11 Einmal hat Gott geredet, zweimal habe ich das gehört, daß Gottes ist die Stärke.

God spake once or twise, I haue heard it, that power belongeth vnto God,

12 Und Dein, Herr, ist Barmherzigkeit, denn Du erstattest dem Manne nach seinem Tun.

And to thee, O Lord, mercie: for thou rewardest euery one according to his worke.
