Psalm 18
1 Dem Sangmeister. Von dem Knechte Jehovahs, von David, der dem Jehovah die Worte dieses Liedes geredet am Tage, da ihn Jehovah aus der Hand aller seiner Feinde und aus Sauls Hand errettet hatte. Innigst lieb habe ich Dich, Jehovah, meine Stärke!
To the choirmaster - of [the] servant of Yahweh of David who he spoke - to Yahweh [the] words of the song this on [the] day [when] he delivered Yahweh him from [the] hand of all enemies his and from [the] hand of Saul. And he said I love you O Yahweh strength my.
2 Jehovah, mein Hort, meine Feste und mein Befreier, mein Gott, mein Fels, auf den ich mich verlasse, mein Schild und Horn meines Heils, meine Burg!
Yahweh - [is] rock my and stronghold my and deliverer my God my [is] rock my [whom] I take refuge in him shield my and [the] horn of salvation my refuge my.
3 Ich rufe an den Gelobten, Jehovah, und ich werde von meinen Feinden gerettet.
[the one] to be praised I call out to Yahweh and from enemies my I am delivered.
4 Stricke des Todes umfingen mich, und Bäche Belials verstörten mich.
They encompassed me [the] cords of death and [the] torrents of worthlessness they overwhelmed me.
[the] cords of Sheol they surrounded me they confronted me [the] snares of death. (Sheol h7585)
6 In meiner Drangsal rufe ich zu Jehovah, und schreie auf zu meinem Gott; Er hört von Seinem Tempel meine Stimme, und mein Angstschrei kommt vor Ihn in Seine Ohren.
When it was distress to me - I called out to Yahweh and to God my I cried for help he heard from temple his voice my and cry for help my before him - it came in ears his.
7 Und es schwankt und erbebt die Erde, und der Berge Grundfesten zittern und schwanken; denn Er entbrannte.
And it shook and it quaked - the earth and [the] foundations of [the] mountains they trembled and they shook back and forth for it burned to him.
8 Rauch stieg auf von Seiner Nase, und Feuer fraß aus Seinem Mund, Glühkohlen brannten aus Ihm hervor.
It went up smoke - in nose his and fire from mouth his it consumed coals they burned from him.
9 Und Er neigte die Himmel und kam herab, und Wolkendunkel unter Seinen Füßen.
And he bent down [the] heavens and he came down and thick darkness [was] under feet his.
10 Und Er fuhr auf dem Cherub und flog, und schwebte auf den Flügeln des Windes.
And he rode on a cherub and he flew and he soared on [the] wings of [the] wind.
11 Er setzt Finsternis zu Seiner Hülle, Seine Hütte ringsum war der Wasser Finsternis, dichte Wolken des Dunstkreises.
He made darkness - covering his around him canopy his darkness of waters dark clouds of clouds.
12 Vom Glanze vor Ihm zogen vorüber Seine dichten Wolken, Hagel und feurige Glühkohlen.
From [the] brightness before him dark clouds his they passed on hail and coals of fire.
13 Und es donnerte Jehovah in den Himmeln, und der Höchste gab Seine Stimme: Hagel und feurige Glühkohlen.
And he thundered in the heavens - Yahweh and [the] Most High he gave forth voice his hail and coals of fire.
14 Und Er sandte Seine Pfeile und zerstreute sie, und der Blitze viel, und verwirrte sie.
And he sent out arrows his and he scattered them and lightning flashes he shot and he routed them.
15 Und der Wasser Flußbette wurden gesehen, und die Grundfesten der Welt aufgedeckt von Deinem Drohen, Jehovah, vom Odem des Hauches Seiner Nase.
And they appeared - channels of water and they were uncovered [the] foundations of [the] world from rebuke your O Yahweh from [the] breath of [the] breath of nostril[s] your.
16 Er sandte aus von der Höhe, und holte mich und zog mich aus vielen Wassern.
He stretched out from a high place he took hold of me he drew me from waters many.
17 Er errettete mich von meinem starken Feind, und von meinen Hassern, denn sie waren zu gewaltig für mich.
He rescued me from enemy my strong and from [those who] hate me for they were [too] strong for me.
18 Am Tage meiner Not kamen sie wider mich; doch ward Jehovah meine Stütze;
They confronted me in [the] day of calamity my and he became Yahweh a support of me.
19 Und Er brachte mich heraus ins Weite; Er riß mich heraus, denn Er hatte Lust an mir.
And he brought out me to roomy place he rescued me for he delighted in me.
20 Jehovah vergilt mir nach meiner Gerechtigkeit; nach meiner Hände Lauterkeit gibt Er mir zurück.
He has dealt with me Yahweh according to righteousness my according to [the] cleanness of hands my he has repaid to me.
21 Denn ich hielt Jehovahs Wege, und war nicht gottlos wider meinen Gott.
For I have kept [the] ways of Yahweh and not I have acted wickedly from God my.
22 Denn alle Seine Rechte sind vor mir, und Seine Satzungen tue ich nicht weg von mir.
For all judgments his [have been] to before me and statutes his not I have turned aside from me.
23 Und ich bin untadelig bei Ihm, und hüte mich vor meiner Missetat.
And I have been blameless with him and I have kept myself from iniquity my.
24 Und Jehovah gibt mir wieder nach meiner Gerechtigkeit, nach meiner Hände Lauterkeit vor Seinen Augen.
And he has repaid Yahweh to me according to righteousness my according to [the] cleanness of hands my to before eyes his.
25 Mit dem Heiligen bist Du heilig, und mit dem untadeligen Manne bist Du untadelig.
With a faithful [person] you show yourself faithful with a man blameless you show yourself blameless.
26 Mit dem Lauteren bist Du lauter und mit dem Krummen bist Du verdreht.
With [one who] purifies himself you show yourself pure and with a perverse [person] you show yourself twisted.
27 Denn das elende Volk rettest Du, und erhöhte Augen erniedrigst Du.
For you a people afflicted you save and eyes uplifted you bring low.
28 Denn meine Lampe erleuchtest Du, Jehovah, mein Gott, Du läßt glänzen meine Finsternis.
For you you light lamp my Yahweh God my he lightens darkness my.
29 Denn mit Dir durchlaufe ich Kriegshaufen, und mit meinem Gotte überspringe ich die Mauer.
For by you I run a marauding band and by God my I leap over a wall.
30 Gott untadelig ist Sein Weg; geläutert ist die Rede Jehovahs, ein Schild ist Er allen, die auf Ihn sich verlassen.
God [is] blameless way his [the] word of Yahweh [is] refined [is] a shield he for all - those [who] take refuge in him.
31 Denn wer ist Gott außer Jehovah? Und wer ein Fels ohne unsern Gott?
For who? [is] God except Yahweh and who? [is] a rock except God our.
32 Der Gott, Der mich mit Tapferkeit umgürtet und macht meinen Weg untadelig,
God [is] the [one who] has girded me strength and he has made blameless way my.
33 Der macht meine Füße gleich denen der Hindinnen, und mich auf meine Höhen stehen läßt,
[he has] made Feet my like does and on high places my he has made stand firm me.
34 Der meine Hand lehrt den Streit, daß meine Arme den ehernen Bogen niederdrücken.
[he has] trained Hands my for battle and it will stretch a bow of bronze arms my.
35 Und gibst mir den Schild Deines Heils, und Deine Rechte unterstützt mich, und Deine Demütigung mehrt mich.
And you have given to me [the] shield of salvation your and right [hand] your it has supported me and humility your you have made great me.
36 Weit machst Du meine Schritte unter mir, daß meine Knöchel nicht gleiten.
You have enlarged step[s] my under me and not they have slipped ankles my.
37 Nachsetzen will ich meinen Feinden und sie erreichen, und nicht zurückkehren, bis ich sie weggetilgt.
I pursued enemies my and I overtook them and not I returned until destroyed them.
38 Zerschmettern will ich sie, daß sie nicht mehr aufstehen; sie sollen unter meine Füße fallen.
I shattered them and not they were able [surely] to rise they fell under feet my.
39 Und Du umgürtest mich mit Tapferkeit zum Streite, Du läßt, die wider mich aufstehen, sich krümmen unter mir.
And you girded me strength for the battle you made bow down [those who] rose against me under me.
40 Und gibst mir meiner Feinde Nacken, und meiner Hasser, sie vertilge ich.
And enemies my you gave to me [the] neck and [those who] hated me I destroyed them.
41 Sie schreien auf, und es ist kein Retter, zu Jehovah, und Er antwortet ihnen nicht.
They cried for help and there not [was] a deliverer to Yahweh and not he answered them.
42 Und ich zermalme sie wie Staub vor dem Winde; wie den Kot der Gassen leere ich sie aus.
And I crushed them like dust on [the] face of [the] wind like [the] mud of [the] streets I poured out them.
43 Du befreist mich von des Volkes Hadern, Du setzest mich zum Haupt der Völkerschaften; ein Volk, das ich nicht kannte, dienet mir.
You delivered me from [the] strivings of a people you appointed me to [the] head of nations a people [which] not I knew they serve me.
44 Nach dem Hören des Ohrs hören sie auf mich; des Auslands Söhne huldigen mir.
To [the] hearing of an ear they become obedient to me sons of foreignness they cringe to me.
45 Des Auslands Söhne welken hin, und zittern hervor aus ihren Schlössern.
Sons of foreignness they wither and they may come trembling from strongholds their.
46 Jehovah lebt, und gesegnet sei mein Fels, und erhöhet der Gott meines Heils.
[is] living Yahweh and [be] blessed rock my and may he be exalted [the] God of salvation my.
47 Der Gott, Der mir Rache gibt, und Völker unter mich zwingt;
God [is] the [one who] has given vengeance to me and he has subdued peoples under me.
48 Der mich von meinen Feinden befreit, ja über die, so wider mich aufstehen, mich erhöht, mich vom Manne der Gewalttat errettet.
[he has] delivered Me from enemies my also more than [those who] rose against me you have exalted me from a man of violence you have rescued me.
49 Darum will ich Dich bekennen, Jehovah, unter den Völkerschaften und Psalmen singen Deinem Namen.
There-fore - I will give thanks to you among the nations - O Yahweh and to name your I will sing praises.
50 Der groß macht das Heil Seines Königs, und Barmherzigkeit tut Seinem Gesalbten, dem David und Seinem Samen in Ewigkeit.
([he is] making great *Q(k)*) [the] victories of King his and [he is] doing covenant loyalty - to anointed his to David and to offspring his until perpetuity.
