Psalm 148
1 Hallelujah, lobet Jehovah von den Himmeln her, lobet Ihn in den Höhen!
Praise Yahweh! Praise him, from up in heaven; praise him from way up in the sky!
2 Lobet Ihn, alle Seine Engel! Lobet Ihn alle Seine Heerscharen!
All you angels who belong to him, praise him! All you who are in the armies of heaven, praise him!
3 Lobet Ihn, Sonne und Mond, lobet Ihn, all ihr Sterne des Lichtes.
Sun and moon, [you also] praise him! You shining stars, you praise him!
4 Lobet Ihn, ihr Himmel der Himmel, und ihr Wasser, die ihr über den Himmeln seid!
You highest heavens, praise him! And you waters that are high above the sky, praise him!
5 Sie sollen den Namen Jehovahs loben; denn Er gebot, und sie waren geschaffen.
I want [all of] these to praise Yahweh [MTY] because by commanding [them to exist], he created them.
6 Und Er läßt sie stehen immerfort und in Ewigkeit, eine Satzung hat Er gegeben, und sie geht nicht vorüber.
He determined the places where they should be [in the sky], and he commanded that they should be there forever. They cannot disobey that command!
7 Lobet Jehovah von der Erde, Walfische und alle Abgründe!
And everything on the earth, praise Yahweh! You [huge] sea monsters and [everything else that is] deep [in the ocean],
8 Feuer und Hagel, Schnee und Dampf, Wind des Sturmes, der Sein Wort tut.
and fire and hail, and snow and frost, and strong winds that obey what he commands, [I tell] all of you to praise Yahweh!
9 Berge und Hügel alle, Fruchtbäume und alle Zedern!
Hills and mountains, fruit trees and cedar [trees],
10 Wild und alles Vieh, Kriechtiere und befiederte Vögel!
all the wild animals and all [you] cattle, and the (reptiles/creatures that scurry across the ground), and [all] the birds, [I tell all of them to praise Yahweh]!
11 Könige der Erde und alle Volksstämme, ihr Obersten und alle Richter der Erde!
You kings on this earth and all the people [that you rule], you princes and all [other] rulers,
12 Jünglinge und auch Jungfrauen, Alte mit den Jungen.
you young men and young women, you old people and children, [everyone, praise Yahweh!]
13 Jehovahs Namen sollen sie loben; denn hoch ist Sein Name allein, Seine Majestät über Erde und Himmel.
I want them [all] to praise Yahweh [MTY] because he is greater than anyone else. His glory is greater than [anything on] the earth or [in] heaven.
14 Und erhöht hat Er das Horn Seinem Volke, das Lob all Seinen Heiligen, den Söhnen Israel, dem Volke, das Ihm nahe ist. Hallelujah.
He caused us, his people, to be strong in order that we, his people, we Israeli people (who are very precious to him/whom he loves very much), would praise him. So praise Yahweh!
