Psalm 125

1 Die auf Jehovah vertrauen, sind wie der Berg Zions, der nimmer wankt, der bleibt ewiglich.

A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be moved; it abides forever.

2 Jerusalem, Berge sind rings um sie her, und Jehovah ist rings um Sein Volk von nun an und bis in Ewigkeit.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people, both now and forevermore.

3 Denn des Ungerechten Rute soll nicht auf dem Lose der Gerechten ruhen, damit die Gerechten ihre Hände nicht zur Verkehrtheit ausstrecken.

For the scepter of the wicked will not rest upon the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to injustice.

4 Jehovah, tue Gutes den Guten und denen, die gerade sind in ihren Herzen.

Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to the upright in heart.

5 Die aber sich abwenden auf das Krumme, lasse Jehovah dahingehen mit denen, so Unrecht tun. Friede sei über Israel.

But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.
