Psalm 123

1 Ich hebe meine Augen auf zu Dir, Der Du im Himmel wohnst!

Unto you lift I up mine eyes, O you that dwell in the heavens.

2 Siehe, wie der Knechte Augen auf ihres Herrn Hand, wie die Augen der Dienstmagd auf die Hand ihrer Gebieterin, so sind unsere Augen auf Jehovah, unseren Gott, bis daß Er uns gnädig sei.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

3 Sei uns gnädig, Jehovah, sei uns gnädig; denn von Verachtung sind wir übersättigt.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4 Gar übersättigt ist geworden unsere Seele des Hohns der Sorglosen, der Verachtung der Hochmütigen.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
