Psalm 11

1 Dem Sangmeister. Von David. Ich verlasse mich auf Jehovah. Wie sprechet ihr zu meiner Seele: Flieht auf euren Berg wie ein Vogel!

I trust that Yahweh will protect [MTY] me. So do not [RHQ] say to me, “You need to escape/flee to the mountains like birds do,

2 Denn siehe, die Ungerechten spannen den Bogen, sie richten auf der Sehne ihren Pfeil, im Dunkeln zu schießen auf die, so geraden Herzens sind.

because wicked people have hidden in the darkness, they have pulled back their bowstrings and aimed their arrows to shoot them at godly/righteous [IDM] people [like you].

3 Wenn die Grundfesten umgerissen sind, was soll der Gerechte tun?

When people are not punished for disobeying the laws, (what can righteous people do?/there is not much that righteous people can do.)” [RHQ]

4 Jehovah ist im Tempel Seiner Heiligkeit; Jehovah, Sein Thron ist im Himmel! Seine Augen schauen, Seine Augenlider prüfen die Söhne des Menschen.

But Yahweh is sitting on his throne in his sacred temple in heaven, and he [SYN] watches everything that people do.

5 Jehovah prüft den Gerechten und den Ungerechten, den aber, der Gewalttat liebt, haßt Seine Seele.

Yahweh examines what righteous people do and what wicked people do, and he hates those who like to perform violent actions [to injure others].

6 Auf Ungerechte läßt Er regnen Schlingen, Feuer und Schwefel; und der Wind des Glutsturmes ist ihres Bechers Anteil.

He will send down [from the sky] flaming coals and burning sulfur, and send scorching hot winds to punish wicked people.

7 Denn gerecht ist Jehovah; Er liebt Gerechtigkeit. Sein Angesicht schaut auf den Redlichen.

Yahweh is righteous and he loves those who act righteously; righteous people are able to come into his presence.
